Chapter 53 I was addicted to drugs

Chapter 53 I was addicted to drugs
,,Okay.. James and I met two years ago. We met at a bar. I don't go to places like that, but I went there that night. We got to know each other. Then he looked me up the next day and we started dating. The relationship was all sorts of mixed. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. He knew my parents and I wanted him to introduce me to his. He refused,"

"That makes sense. He never told me anything about you," I said and Daisy nodded.

"The relationship started to get worse, more and more every day. He started hitting me. First my stomach, then my head and then my legs. One night. I was in a room and James and Mark were there. They both raped me. My mom knew about it. It was horrible. I felt terrible.  They said if I told anyone, they'd kill me," she whispered and burst into tears. I looked at Chris and held her hand.

"Don't worry. You're okay,"

"Once.. I overheard James, Mark and my mom talking. They said you weren't his son. They said Becky was lying to get money from you. I knew it. I couldn't tell you, I'm sorry,"

"But you suggested I get a DNA test,"

"Yes. I wanted you to know. James knew all along that you weren't his father. He lied to you. Both he and Becky,"

"Who's his father? Who is he? You have to know," I said and sat down next to her.

"Michael. He works at your hospital.  I think he's an anesthesiologist,"

"Michael.. Michael.. It doesn't ring a bell. I know almost everyone here, but that name doesn't ring a bell,"

"Liam. Michael, the anesthesiologist. You hired him a few weeks ago. Is he James' biological father?" Chris asked her and she nodded.

"That bastard.. They both pulled me by the nose. All three of them,"

"Liam.. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Before we even met. James knew it and if I told you, he would tell you and I didn't want that,"

"How did you get into it?","

"We drank together every day. He gave me alcohol and drugs. I got into it and I felt the need to have it every day. I hit rock bottom. The very bottom, Liam. When I walked away from them, I stopped. I'm pure Liam.  Really. I didn't do drugs or drink. I wanted to get rid of it but it will always stay with me. Always,"

"Alcohol and drugs will take their toll on you. Not right away, Daisy. Remember that," Chris said and looked at her

"My whole family hated me. I was always the black sheep of the family. I didn't know what to do. I was alone. I was lost and the drugs and alcohol helped me forget. They really helped me forget. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have done it. Zoe would deliberately pour alcohol on me. She knew it would destroy me. When I left and I had no money, I stopped doing it, Liam. I was afraid you wouldn't want to see me.  I was afraid you would dump me, I was scared,"

,,Do you care about me that much? Do you love me that much that you were scared of it?," I asked her and sat down next to her. She didn't say anything. She nodded.

,,I suspected it. I knew you were hiding something but I didn't know what. You had very bad blood results and unfortunately a weak heart. I didn't understand how it was possible. So young and to have such huge health problems,"

,,I'm really sorry Liam. I really am sorry. I should have told you all this sooner but the fear was stronger. I'm sorry,"

,,Daisy. Are you hiding something else from me? If so. Then tell me that too.  I'm here to protect you but it's really hard when you don't help me,"

James and Zoe rushed into my office. Daisy looked at me with fear in her eyes. She was afraid but I didn't understand what.

"You have no business in my office James. Get out of here now," I screamed loudly

"I don't know what she told you but it's not based on any truth!"

"She told me absolutely nothing. This opened my eyes, James. I found a hair in your closet. I had DNA tests done. They came back negative. What did you think? That I wouldn't find out? That you'd drag me along with your mom?" I screamed out loud. I was even more pissed off than before. Daisy was completely terrified.

"But is it okay that she's a drug addict? Is it okay that she did the dirty work? Do you even know who she is? She's a drug addict. An alcoholic who can't live without her fix. Is that the kind of woman you want?"

"It's my life and I can do whatever I want with my life. I want you to finally leave her alone,"

"We'll meet again, Daisy. This isn't over. You'll regret ever being born," he screamed and immediately walked away.

"I want to go home.  I want to go home Liam," Daisy muttered in a weak voice.

"First I'll treat you. Then we'll go home. Try to calm down. You're very upset Daisy. Look at me and calm down. Calm down," I said and grabbed her face.

"You're not going to leave me, are you?" she whispered and looked into my eyes.

"I promise you won't. You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life Daisy. I'm here for you. I'm here to protect you. Don't be afraid," I said and hugged her. Chris gave me an injection.

"I'll give you something. You need to calm down," I whispered and grabbed her hand. I gave her the injection and pulled her into my arms. I felt her slowly falling asleep.

"Don't go away, please," she whispered quietly. I put my hand in her hair.

"I'm here. Don't worry. When you wake up, we'll be home," I said and she fell asleep a moment later. I looked at Chris.

"Liam came here. Totally tearful, sad and couldn't be calmed down. I had to call you. You're the only man who can calm her down,"

"She's been through a lot and I've always been there for her. She could always count on me. Although, I feel worse than Daisy. After all this information. Come on. Let's examine her. When Daisy is okay, we'll go home,"
