Chapter 10 Change

"He locked himself in his room for 2 weeks, and I couldn't take it anymore so I broke his bedroom door and when I did it was horrible, his room was trash, things were broken, nothing was in its place and Blake...... I... I ... it took me everything to balance my self, he was a mess, his eyes were bloodshot, his hands were bleeding rapidly, he looked pale " Jason said crying and I was crying too, I hugged him tight and let him cry on my shirt

"I just don't want to see him like this, I want my brother back, I want him to smile again, I want him to live again, " he said crying hard

He held himself together and pulled away and I gave him a sad smile

"Just don't hate him, Hope. He just keeps blocking everyone from his life " he said sadly. I hugged him and said "I can never hate anyone "

We sat there for a while and came back home, June was still there. I couldn't hold myself so I hugged her tight and cried

I lost my parents and I know the pain of losing someone you love, hearing about Blake's past it was like ripping open my old healed wounds

Now it's my mission to bring back the old Blake even if I had to pack my ego and throw it out the window, I'll do it for his family, I'll do it for him

Next morning I am a woman on a mission, I know its a mission impossible but still I feel like Ethan hunt, 'wow I am so filmy'

So I got ready for a most embarrassing day of my life cause I know a day with Mr. Egoistic will surely be a day full of taunts and insults but its a risk I am willing to take

the day went by and now its lunchtime and I am desperately looking for Blake and I found him at the corner of the cafeteria, as usual, there was a frown on his face as he saw me approaching

"Hi," I said cheerfully and slide down on the chair in front of him

"Don't you have self-respect? " he said narrowing his eyes at me 'here we go the best day ever' note the sarcasm

"Yeah I have," I said giving him a toothy smile " but I threw it out the window when it comes to you, " I said and started eating my lunch

"Whatever, "he said going back to what he was doing

"So," I said "so," he said still looking down

"Are you free after school? ?" I asked nervously

That's when he looked up to look at me. He narrowed his eyes and said "No" wow this is working amazingly. NOT

"It won't take long please, " I said pouting

"No" he stated again

"Come on please please please please " I was on my knees in front of him all eyes were on me but I didn't care

"What are you doing? get up" he said glaring at me

"Not until you say yes," I said still kneeling in front of him

"Fine yes. now get up" he said irritated. I was jumping up and down when I turned to take my seat, I saw Jason who was smiling brightly and mouthed 'what are you doing?' I just winked at him and took my seat

After lunch we went to our respective classes the day went really very slow as the last bell rang, I was the first one to get out as I made my way to the parking lot. Blake was leaning on his car waiting patiently for me

"Hey,  sorry to keep you waiting, " I said with a smile

"Whatever,  get in so I can get it over with, " he said irritated but I guess I am used to this kind of reaction from him

"Right. but we are walking " I said and turned around and started walking the other way. I heard him sigh and follow me

"Can I ask you a question? " I said breaking the silence

"You just did," he said looking straight ahead

"Can I ask you some more questions? " I asked politely

"Fine, " he said annoyed

"What's your favorite color? " as soon as I asked that he looked at me like I just asked him to sell both of his kidneys

"Seriously, " he said narrowing his eyes, if he keeps on doing this then soon his eyes will stick like this forever

" its a bit far, I just want to pass the time," I said looking at my feet

"Black," he said

"Huh," I asked 

"Black is my favorite color, " he said looking straight ahead

"Oh.. hmm do you like movies? " I asked

"No" was his simple answer

"Music," I asked

"No," he said

"Games"

"No"

"Food"

"No"

"Sarah, " I asked

"No- what," he asked shocked and angry

"I know," I said

"What," he said grabbing my arm forcefully

"I said, I know about what happened to her," I said looking into his furious eyes

"You know nothing " he spat on my face

" I'm sorry, " I said sadly

"No. your not if you were then you wouldn't have bought it up" he spat on my face again

"I know how you feel," I said painfully

"No you don't, " he said and walked away, but it was my turn to grab his arm

"What do you mean, I don't? " I asked angrily I have had enough of this

"You don't know the pain I've been through, you don't know the pain of losing someone you love, so stop acting like you care cause, you clearly don't, " he said and pulled his arm out of my grasp

"Do you even hear yourself? " I asked and stood in front of him and crossed my arms

"You think only your life is miserable to look around you Blake and open your eyes and see the real world, take me as an example I've lost my everything, I saw my parents die in front me, I saw them take their last breath so don't give me that excuse, that I don't know about your pain. You may find another girl in your life but I will never get my parents back even if I want them too. So grow some balls and face the truth but you blocked everyone out of your life, I mean look around you, I lost my parents and here I am trying to help out of your misery " I was yelling on top of my lungs

As I was yelling at him taking out all of my frustration. I really wanted to get this out of me for a very long time

I calmed down when I saw him looking at me with an emotion which was foreign to me

"So if you're done with self-pity, can we keep going that place is not fair," I said calmly

"Yeah," he said looking down

"Then let's go," I said and started walking

We walked in a comfortable silence it took us about 10 minutes to reach our destination

Its an orphanage " I always came here whenever, I felt that my problems were complicated, but when I see them. I feel my problems are nothing compared to their" I said and went in

Blake was quiet. Which was good

I met the nun and other people living there

"Hello Hope it been a while since the last time I saw you, " sister Lily said with a smile

"Hello Sister, and sorry but I've been busy," I said

"And who is this young man," she said when she noticed Blake

"He is my friend Blake " I introduced him to her " Blake this is Sister Lily she owns this place," I said nicely

"Nice meeting you, " he said with a smile and shook hands with her

"Its a pleasure. Come on Hope everyone is waiting to meet you" she started dragging me towards the children room

As soon as I entered, I was tackled down by little humans and by their little kisses

"Hope.  you came" sang the little children

"Yes I did and you know what I've bought something today?" I said while digging in my bag

"CHOCOLATES" yelled everyone and ran away with their chocolates

"Hope who is this?" asked a 4-year-old blond girl smiling shyly and before I got the chance he spoke

"Hi. I'm Blake " he said politely bending down to her height "and you are?" He asked her

"Susie," she said and kissed his cheek

I looked at them and I saw a new Blake who was not rude, mean, egoistic, arrogant but a genuine young person who was being polite

We played with them, sang with them, fed them and sang to them till they were asleep, I had children all around me who were asleep and I didn't know how I fell asleep

I woke up by someone shaking me. I opened my eyes to see Blake who was smiling at me 'wow' I'm still dreaming. Let's go back to sleep.

"We should get going its already late," he said politely. I just nodded and carefully stood up without waking any of the children

"Is was a pleasure having you here? " Lily said smiling "please keep coming they really enjoy your company, and Blake they like you too. You should come again sometime " she said to both of us

"Sure I would love too," he said and we were off to go it was nearly 10 when we left

"Thank you, " Blake said after a little walk

"For what?" I asked

"For bringing me along, it felt good, " he said nicely

"Yeah. it does, every time I come here I feel peace " I said honestly

" There is something your not telling me," he said confidentiality

"I don't understand, " I said looking at him

"Seriously, "he said raising a brow

I sighted "2 years ago I too was in love, no I was madly in love, we loved each other we were really happy. We were together for 2 years but when things are too good something goes wrong and I caught him cheating on me with my childhood best friend, it broke my heart I cried every night. when my parents died, he didn't even bother to ask me if I was alright. that day when my parents died we were having an argument my dad turned to speak to me but a very speed car came crashing towards us " I said closing my eyes

"It's my fault, " I said tears sliding down my cheek, and I was soon embraced in a warm hug, I hugged him back it's very nice of him to do that I really needed a hug

We walked back home cause the school will be closed by now we didn't bother talking and walked in silence and it was comfortable for both of us

"Good night, " I said and went to open the door

"Thank you for today, " he said quietly

"Your welcome and you're always welcome here," I said and I closed the door

I hope today changes things
