Chapter 17

Alpha Kaye's POV

“Did you just refer me to as “what?” Willy snapped.

This infuriated me and I sprinted to him, grappled him by the neck and lifted him up.

“You don't dare talk to me like that. This is my territory and I can have you killed.” I grinned.

“Let him down, or I'll blow your head off.” The other mafia boss said, holding up a gun targeted at my head.

I turned to him and smiled. I let go of the drawf and turned to Jasper.

“What is all this about?”

“You should at least be patient enough to hear me out. They are mafia bosses and your concern isn't for them to do your job right?”

“That's true.” I groaned softly.

“Let's all have our seats.” Jasper said, and we all sat down.

I had the maids serve them some wine before we entered into business.

“So, what kind of job do you have for us?” Holm asked after he took a sip of the wine.

“My wife eloped with her lover to the human world, but she is pregnant with my baby. I need to get her back because I need the baby.” I said, and Jasper glared at me in disgust.

He obviously knows I'm lying, but I don't care. I need to do whatever it takes to bring my child home.

“To get things clear, you said your wife eloped with her love and she's pregnant. What makes you so sure that the baby is yours?” Willy asked.

“Never knew you were this smart.” I mumbled inaudibly.

“Pardon?” He asked, but I shook my head as nothing.

Jasper, who heard what I said, burst out laughing but choked on it when we looked at him.

“I'm sorry..... I just remembered a joke.” He lied amidst his laughter.

“May we please continue, gentlemen?”

“Sure.” Holm responded.

“The job here is that I want you to find her and bring her back here. That's all.”

“How much will you be paying for that?” Holm asked in his deep voice as he dipped his hand in his inner pocket to bring out a cigarette.

“No smoking.” I stopped him right in time before he could light it.

“Sure.” He shrugged his shoulder, lifted his hands in surrender, and put the cigarette back in his pocket.

“How much are we talking about here?”

“$600 each....... If you do an impressive job.”

Their jaws dropped. I guess they weren't expecting such an amount.

“May we have her details? We will dive to work immediately.” Willy commented, his voice full of life.

“Not so fast, Willy.” Holm said, and all eyes fell on him.

“What's the matter, dude? This is a one-time opportunity.” Willy whispered to Holm.

“I know. Which is more reason we have to be careful. This could be a scam.” Holm said with his gaze fixed on me.

I scoffed lightly, slightly embarrassed by what he said.

“Scam?” I scoffed and leaned back to the comfort of the couch.

“Why on earth would I want to scam you?”

“Why on earth would you want to pay such an amount for a job you can get done yourself or send your “dog”?” He retorted, referring to Jasper as a dog.

“Hey, Holm. Look here.” Jasper said as he sat straight. “I didn't bring you here to insult me. If you know you're not in for the job, let me know and I'll send you back to where you came from. Someone else will do it.”

“Let's not argue with them, I'm sure they are no scam.”. Willy whispered to Holm and his face seemingly softened.

“Okay. Let us all calm down. We are in for the job. All we need now is your wife's details, the last place she was seen, and a deposit for the job.” Willy added.

I hate to admit it, but it seems Willy is more reasonable than Holm. I would have preferred two Willy to one Holm.

“That won't be a problem. I'll get you the necessary details before sun set and a deposit of $350 each.” I paused as stared deeply into their eyes as my voice went into a whisper. “If you think you can get away with my money and not get the job done, trust me, you wouldn't like where it would end...... For you.” I grinned.

“Is that a threat?” Holm snapped as though he were ready to punch on me.

“No, Holm.” I scoffed. “It's just a peaceful warning.” I pouted and got up.

“You should rest, Jasper. You did an outstanding job.” I said and walked up the stairs and, listening to Willy and Holm whispering.

I grabbed the knob of the door and walked in. Walked straight to the window and there she was; the only person I wish to live for. But she doesn't seem to be happy, and she doesn't even notice my presence.

This bothered me and I wish I could go to her.

“Wait a little while, my love. All this shit would be sorted out and we would be together. Forever.” A cute smile to brighten up my face played on my face.

It was getting late, and I was starving, I grabbed my phone and called the chief chef.

“Hello, Mrs. Jones.” I called in a sweet tone.

She had been there for me through thick and thin, she stood as my mother after my mom died. Since then, I also treated her as my mother and would do anything to see her happy.

“Good evening, Alpha. To what do I owe the honor?” Her calm and still voice always brought peace to my soul.

“I'm starving, Mrs. Jones.” I said like a child, which made her chuckled.

“What would you like me to prepare for you, son?”

“My favorite. I've missed that a lot.”

“Okay, I'll get to it now.”

I was about to end the call when I heard her suddenly scream on top of her voice.

“Mrs. Jones? Are you there?”

“Mrs. Jones. Stop the prank, it's not funny.” I said, but her scream went down slowly.

Thinking it was one of her numerous pranks, I ended the call and laid on the bed.
