Chapter 14
Alpha Kaye's POV.
“Okay then. I'll like to take me leave.” I said and took the letter from her.
Furthermore, I exited the house, got to my car and looked at the letter again.
“Her eyes! There was something about it. The way she looked at me, talked. Something is definitely wrong.” I thought.
“I know she would be shaken by the death of Ryan, but there was more to those trembling lips. Something I must find out about.”
I ignited the car and drove back to the mansion.
Jasper's POV.
I sat close to the window seat on the bus with my headphones playing my favorite song. My eyes watched the human world in amusement; it's my second time coming to the human world.
Soon, the bus halted at its last stop, and we all alighted from the bus. I stood at the bus stop, my eyes darting frantically from one shop to the other until it settled on a club.
“That would be the perfect place to find a mafia boss.” I thought as I walked in on the club.
The sun was still out and shining bright bit inside the club, it was like night; they were having fun like they had nothing to do.
“I wonder if these humans have work to do.” I mouthed as I found myself a seat.
I ordered for a bottle of wine, threw my head back against the chair as I set to enjoy the view appealing to my gaze.
The club light was lit; different colors varying from blue to green and red to yellow were seen taking different positions in the club. Scream and cheers were heard, but I couldn't see any bad guy around. I looked down at my wristwatch, it was 7:30 pm. A day gone out of my target. Now, I have to find two mafia bosses in two days, in a world I don't know how they relate.
I chugged the last content of my glass, stood up to leave, but when I got to the door, I was pushed back by some guys. They look pretty dangerous as the sound of their voice put a smile to my face.
“Watch it, asshole!” He cussed as he shoved me out of the way.
“A mafia gang?”
I watched in amusement as they walked in and took their seats in the corner of the club. I went back to my seat, ordered another bottle of wine and kept my eyes glues on them. They returned with glaring and fierce glances to tell me they also had their eyes on me.
This made me feel uncomfortable, but I waved it off. To make me less suspicious, I decided to interact with the people in the club. I got up and approached a lady who was dancing and we danced together.
“This is the best time I've had in a long time.” I yelled in her ear as we continued dancing.
Soon the time struck 1:00 am and the mafia gang got up, ready to exit the club. I was about to go after them when the lady grabbed my shirt, I looked at her, confused.
“Where do you think you're going? We have the night to ourselves. Let's enjoy it and make the best out of it.” She said with the cutest smile I've seen.
“Sure, we will. I'm just going to use the restroom for a while.”
I said and exited the club. Luckily for me, the gang were still in sight. They got in a van and drove off. I looked down the street and saw a taxi approaching me. I quickly flagged it down and got it.
“Follow that van.” I said as I made to settle on the taxi.
The driver ignited the taxi and went after the van. It pulled to a halt a distance away from the van. The gang alighted from the van and walked into a warehouse.
“How much is the ride?”
“$100.”
I brought out a bill from my pocket, handed it to the driver, and alighted from the taxi. I carefully observed the environment before sneaking closer to the warehouse. Getting to the warehouse of a mafia gang was not as hard as I thought, but maybe it came with a price.
Of course, it does. I was about to take the first step into the warehouse when I felt a sharp pain at the back of my head and I blacked out.
Regaining consciousness, I sluggishly opened my eyes, grunting from the pain in my neck. My eyes slowly scanned the higher height of the warehouse before it settled on one of the gangs that called my attention by his words.
“He's awake.” He said, and my eyes fell on him.
I was tied with a normal rope, I guess they don't know I'm a werewolf. They would have used something stronger, even if they didn't have a silver chain.
The one who seemed to be the boss sat on an armchair opposite me across the warehouse with his legs crossed. A smoke was in his hand and he was puffing on it as though his life depended on it. He nodded slightly, almost invisible, and one of the gangs approached me and gripped my chin hard.
“Who sent you after us?” He demanded in the deepest voice I've ever heard.
I could have given him the beating of his life for touching me with his flirty hands, but I had to finish my mission. So, I stayed put and pretended to be weak.
“Are you dumb? You have nothing to say?” He asked again, but before I could give him a reply, the boss stood up.
The boss approached me, still smoking, and had an evil grin spread on his face.
“You like it tough, don't you?” A sly grin cornered his lips.
Before I could move a muscle, he put the butt of whatever he was smoking on my neck, making me scream out like hell. If there's one thing I've learned about the human mafias, it's that they are terribly menacing.
“I came here to give...... you a job.” I stuttered amidst forced breaths.
The boss stopped and looked at me for some seconds, probably contemplating if he should believe me.
“What do you have to lose if you believe me?”
He crossed his arms against his chest, “I have my time to lose, if it turns out to be a lie.”
“Well, I have nothing to lose.”
I got up and grabbed the man who grippedmy neck, letting him a prey to my thirst paws.
“A werewolf?”
The boss's eyes glistened!
