Chapter 483 Edward & Moira 28

Chapter 483 Edward & Moira 28

Edward and Moira walked into the store.

The owner of the DIY chocolate shop, Isaac Bowen, immediately came up to them. "I'm really sorry, but the store is about to close."

Edward frowned slightly. "I saw the sign says it's open until 10 PM."

Isaac looked at the little girl sitting in the corner, her hands feeling the Braille. "I'm really sorry, it's my daughter's birthday today, so I was planning to take her home."

The girl, Daisy Bowen, looked about seven or eight years old, with long hair tied back and a red bow hair clip on her head. She looked very cute, but her eyes stared blankly ahead, unfocused.

She smiled and said, "Dad, since we have customers, let's leave a bit later. Anyway, when we get home, it's just the two of us. We can celebrate my birthday here in the store."

Isaac thought his daughter was very considerate. He looked at Edward and Moira. "Since my daughter said so, you can stay. There are various flavors of chocolate in the glass cabinet, all made with pure cocoa butter. You can choose your favorite flavor and mold, and I'll get the tools to melt the chocolate."

After thanking him, Edward and Moira walked to the table next to Daisy.

Moira asked, "Are we bothering you?"

Daisy shook her head. "Not at all. I like feeling people's happiness."

Moira felt a pang of sadness, knowing Daisy could only feel but not see.

Daisy turned towards Moira. "Miss, you don't need to be sad. I'm used to it. Although I can't see, I can imagine it. I used to see this colorful world."

Isaac came over with the tools and placed them on the table. "Daisy has been blind since last year. She has a tumor in her brain pressing on her optic nerve."

Edward asked, "Is there no way to treat it?"

Isaac sat across from Daisy. "I've taken her to many places and seen many doctors. The tumor is in a dangerous location, so surgery is not suitable. Any mistake could be fatal."

Moira frowned. "So, Daisy..."

Isaac's eyes reddened. "I told Daisy the truth. I didn't want to hide it from her. Daisy is very strong, and we're living each day to the fullest."

Edward thought for a moment and took out his phone to make a call. "Leopold, can you find the best neurosurgeon?"

Leopold said, "The best neurosurgeon in the world is Yearn, but she's very elusive. If she doesn't want to be found, you won't find her. What's going on?"

Edward pressed his temples. "A friend has a brain tumor pressing on the optic nerve."

Leopold said, "If you can find Yearn, the cure rate is very high. I've heard Yearn sometimes takes on tasks from the Dark Web. If this friend is important to you, you might want to post a bounty."

Edward said calmly, "I understand."

After hanging up, he contacted Sterling and explained the situation.

Sterling immediately posted a bounty on the Dark Web, offering five million dollars and including the patient's condition.

Edward looked at Isaac. "Wait for the news."

Isaac was very surprised. He didn't expect the two customers who happened to come into the store to help them like this.

He thanked them repeatedly. "Whether it works or not, Daisy and I thank you."

"No need to thank us. I'll cover the cost as a birthday gift for Daisy, of course, if Yearn accepts the bounty."

As soon as Edward finished speaking, Sterling called.

Sterling was very excited. "Edward, Yearn accepted the bounty, but the money was returned. Is Yearn really that kind-hearted? I'm starting to admire her!"

Edward didn't expect Yearn to refuse the bounty. He said, "I'll send you the patient's medical records and contact information later. Please get in touch with Yearn."

"Got it!"

Edward looked at Isaac and then at Daisy. "The best neurosurgeon in the world will treat you, Daisy. Maybe soon, you'll see the light again."

Tears instantly fell from Daisy's eyes. "Thank you, sir, thank you, miss. No matter what happens in the future, I thank you."

Isaac said gratefully, "Thank you so much. If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know."

Edward smiled. "Okay."

Moira held Daisy's hand. "Daisy, happy birthday."

Isaac wiped his tears. "I'll go get the cake, and we can eat it together."

Soon, Isaac brought out a delicate cake, inserted seven candles, and lit them.

Edward, Moira, and Isaac sang the birthday song for Daisy.

Daisy clasped her hands and made a wish. "I hope the gentleman and the lady will always be happy."

Edward and Moira exchanged a glance. They didn't expect that by entering this small shop by chance, they would do something good that could save Daisy's life and bring her light.

Since Daisy couldn't see, Isaac cut the cake for her.

The four of them sat together, eating the cake.

At that moment, the door opened.

A woman wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap, and a mask walked in. She looked at the four of them, and finally, her gaze fell on Daisy. "I'm Yearn's assistant. I need some of the patient's medical records."

Edward didn't doubt her identity, as only the four of them knew about the bounty on the Dark Web.

He looked at Isaac. "Do you have Daisy's medical records here?"

Isaac nodded. "I habitually carry the records with me in case I need to see a specialist."

He quickly went to the changing room, brought back a bag, and handed it to the woman. "These are all my daughter's scans and test results."

The woman nodded slightly. "I understand. I'll contact you tomorrow." With that, she left the chocolate shop.

Isaac sat back in his chair, still a bit surprised. "Is Yearn in Valhalla?"

Edward looked out the window at the departing figure. "Maybe."

After getting into the car, the woman took off her hat and mask.

It was a face that was both pure and alluring. She called Quentin. "Quentin, I'm not going back to Stellaria for now. I'm going to perform surgery on a little girl in the next few days."

"Alice, you're breaking your promise again."

"Haha, I'll treat you to many meals when I get back."

"You always use that to tempt me. By the way, I heard the Dark Gang is making moves recently. Be careful."

Alice responded, "I know. See you."

Years later, when Moira mentioned the chocolate shop incident, she realized that Edward and Alice, the siblings, had met long before.

Sometimes fate is magical, bringing destined people together.

On the way back to the hotel, Moira looked at Edward. "I feel very happy today. Not only did I become your girlfriend, but we also helped change Daisy's fate. It turns out that the seemingly cold Mr. York has such a tender side."

Edward smiled. "To be honest, my initial intention in helping Daisy was to make you happy."

Moira blushed. "Thank you."

Edward raised an eyebrow. "I don't want verbal thanks, you know what I mean."
