The person investigating Juan had done a thorough job, so when Easton asked questions, he quickly got answers.
"Juan's mom is really sick and needs some super expensive treatment."

Easton listened to his subordinate's report and thought for a moment.
"Get in touch with Juan. I want to meet him personally."
He needed to confirm why Juan left the company and whether he had already leaked any important secrets.
Only after confirming these two points could he decide how to handle Juan's actions.
The subordinate quickly arranged the meeting.
When Easton arrived at the meeting place, Juan immediately started apologizing, looking nervous. "I'm sorry, Mr. Cooper, I'm really sorry. I didn't want to do this. I really didn't want to."

Juan kept apologizing, but Easton sat across from him, calmly taking out a cigarette.

Easton smoked and watched Juan, who was nearly crying. "Juan, about that project."
Juan's head shot up at the mention of the project. "I didn't!"

"You've been good to me. I would never betray you!"
Easton looked at him and suddenly smiled. "Do you think I believe you?"
"You left the company for money, and now you're telling me you didn't leak secrets for money?"
He looked at Juan with disdain, his eyes full of distrust.
Feeling ashamed under his former boss's gaze, Juan's eyes dropped to the floor, but his voice grew firmer. "Mr. Cooper, please believe me. I really didn't leak any information about the project!"
Easton remained silent, seemingly waiting for him to continue.
"Although they kept asking me about the project, I didn't tell them anything."
"Their offer was for me to join their company, and they would give me a large sum to treat my mother."
"But the condition didn't include providing project information. If it had, I would never have joined them!"
Easton listened to every word Juan said, raising an eyebrow.
What was the rival company thinking?
Were they really willing to pay so much just to have Juan join them?
He had kept Juan because of his abilities. Could it be that the rival company also valued Juan's abilities?
As Easton pondered the truth of Juan's words, Juan suddenly took out a document from his bag.
"Mr. Cooper, this is a pledge I prepared. It's legally binding. I will never leak company secrets!"
Easton didn't expect Juan to have prepared something like this, so he took it and read through it.
It matched what Juan had said; the pledge was indeed legally binding.
It seemed Juan had gone to great lengths to make Easton believe him.
Looking at the document, Easton's eyes flickered slightly. He hadn't expected to receive such a significant pledge one day.
After confirming that Juan hadn't leaked any company secrets, Easton finally felt more at ease.
After they parted ways, he ordered the other project leaders to proceed as planned.
Cassidy had no idea how busy Easton was with company matters. She only remembered that Easton had said if she behaved well, she would be allowed to go out.
To get permission, Cassidy tried everything to please Easton.
