Chapter 95 The Second Mistake

Chapter 95 The Second Mistake

Beautiful things, if they never get a chance to be shown, are just junk.

Cassidy's calm tone didn't faze Easton. Hearing her say she liked it, he smiled and offered to put it on her.

But just as the necklace was about to fall around her neck, Cassidy suddenly reached out to stop him.

"It's beautiful. Keep it safe. I'll wear it when I want to."

She stayed in this villa every day, only seeing Easton. What was the point of wearing these beautiful pieces of jewelry?

Was she supposed to use them as props to spice things up when they made love?

Cassidy couldn't help but sneer at the thought.

Seeing her looking so glum, Easton knew she was still bothered by the issue of going out.

They couldn't live like this forever. He wanted to keep Cassidy by his side but didn't want to see her smile disappear.

His hand holding the necklace was still suspended in mid-air. As he met Cassidy's gaze, he made a decision in his heart.

"Cassidy, if you behave, I'll let you go out," he said.

Cassidy's eyes flickered slightly. She looked up at Easton, and a hint of excitement seemed to appear deep in her eyes.

"Easton, are you serious?"

Her voice even carried a tone of anticipation.

For the first time in days, her tone showed emotion.

Easton's heart seemed to waver with Cassidy's anticipation.

"Of course."

He gently put the necklace on Cassidy and led her to the mirror. Seeing the woman with the blue gemstone necklace smile in the mirror, he reaffirmed his promise.

"If you behave, I'll let you go out."

"Thank you, Easton!"

With his confirmation, Cassidy became happy, and her previously calm eyes finally showed joy.

"Easton, I promise I'll behave!"

Perhaps she was too happy, as she even kissed Easton's cheek.

Easton didn't expect such a small promise to make Cassidy so happy. He couldn't help but wrap his arms around her waist and kiss her lips.

Easton intended to give Cassidy a simple kiss and then let her go, but Cassidy responded eagerly, her breath becoming more rapid as they pressed closer. The innocent kiss gradually took on a more sensual tone.

Easton's hand slipped under her shirt, his cool fingertips brushing against her soft waist, causing Cassidy to shiver slightly.

He gripped Cassidy's waist, one hand slowly moving up to cup her breast, while the other hand slowly slid down to her inner thigh.

His fingers rubbed against Cassidy's vagina through her panties, making her squeeze her legs together and her breath grow hotter.

"Our Cassidy is already wet."

He sighed, his sexy voice making Cassidy's body tingle uncontrollably.

She wanted to push him away but couldn't help but respond to his touch.

Something hot and hard pressed against her from behind, and Cassidy squirmed restlessly.

"Cassidy." He bit her ear, whispering her name in a seductive tone that made Cassidy's ears burn.

Through her panties, Easton's fingers kept teasing Cassidy's sensitive spot, the desire tormenting her until her face turned red and her breath grew scorching.

In the mirror, Cassidy could clearly see herself leaning against Easton's chest, her legs trembling slightly but still standing with Easton's support.

Her panties were already soaked. Just as Easton was about to pull them aside, his phone suddenly rang, startling them both.

"Easton, your phone." Cassidy gasped, pushing Easton away.

He glanced at the screen; it was a call from a subordinate at the company.

If it wasn't urgent, they wouldn't be calling him. Reluctantly, Easton answered.

"Mr. Cooper, there's a problem with the project!" The subordinate's voice was frantic, clearly because the issue had arisen suddenly and had a significant impact on the company.

Listening to the urgent voice, Easton's desire slowly faded. Cassidy, standing close to Easton, naturally heard the subordinate's voice too.

She pulled Easton's hand away, signaling him to focus on the call.

"What happened?" His voice was cold, a mix of irritation from being interrupted and anger at the project's issues.

"One of the key project leaders was hired away by a rival company!"

To compensate for the loss of that important project, he had to develop another one. But now, the subordinate was telling him that the new project, which was supposed to be successfully implemented, had issues too?

This matter was too important. Easton needed to return to the company immediately to handle it.

Cassidy didn't know what had happened, but seeing Easton's expression, she could guess the urgency and urged him to return to the company quickly.

Back at the company, Easton called all the other project leaders together to understand the situation.

He had already heard the report over the phone, but hearing it again didn't quell his anger.

He angrily threw the documents on the table at the feet of the other leaders. "Get me a solution immediately!"

The leader who had left knew the project's confidential details, and no one could guarantee he wouldn't leak them.

Their task was to prevent that from happening.

Easton could tolerate the first mistake but not the second.

No matter the cost, this issue had to be resolved.

The other leaders were shocked to hear about the departure. They thought the matter had been settled and didn't expect such a problem at the critical moment.

No matter how angry they were, they had to find a solution.

Easton had the subordinate investigate the departed leader.

Juan Long had been with the company for over a year, personally recruited by Easton.

Looking at the name, Easton recalled the events of Juan's interview day.

The interviewers had already rejected Juan, but Easton happened to pass by and reviewed the interview materials.

Although Juan's resume wasn't outstanding among the other candidates, his performance during the interview impressed Easton. To give him a chance, Easton intervened and kept Juan.

Juan knew he got the opportunity because of Easton, so he respected Easton greatly, always greeting him politely from afar. Thus, Easton had a good impression of him.

Easton never expected that in such an important project, the first person to betray him would be Juan, the one he had helped.

Looking at Juan's profile, Easton couldn't help but sneer.

He had recruited someone who didn't know gratitude, turning his initial satisfaction with Juan into a joke.

"Besides this, did you find anything else?" he asked, anger evident in his voice. "For instance, the reason for his betrayal?"
