Chapter 7 His surprise
Chapter 7 His surprise
THIRD PERSON POV
Maelis pushes herself as hit the side ropes of the boxing ring.
“What? Are you getting rusty now?” A woman said mockingly at Maelis,
Maelis didn’t say anything, but was quick to get on her feet again. Maelis could feel her whole body sweating as she tried to move closer to the woman who kept talking.
“Are you doing boxing or waltz----” the woman tried to speak again when Maelis suddenly lunged forward and let out a right hook.
The woman was caught off guard, but before she could even recover from the first hook, Maelis let out another left hook, making the woman stumble falling on her buttocks.
“I guess you know now what we are doing,” Maelis said as she said as she removes her glove and went out of the ring.
“Bitch” the woman said. Maelis smirked.
“Yeah, a bad one.” She answered.
She was getting dressed when her phone suddenly rang. It was from Richard.
“Yeah?” She answers.
“Lorenzo just left my place,” Richard said from the other line,
“You should have slit his throat with a scalpel.” She said that made Richard laugh.
“He’s pretty annoyed with you, he said you haven’t given him any update on the last mission he gave you.” He said, Maelis rolled her eyes, and he picked the phone up, putting it on speaker.
“He didn’t give me any deadline. He better not get his impatient ass too excited.” She said that made Richard chuckle from the other line.
“What mission even is that?” Richard asks, and Maelis sighs before speaking.
“The person I have to attend the party tonight,” she said.
“Who?” Richard asks again with a frown as he is fixing his equipment.
“Lucien Allard,” Maelis said. A loud bang of metal echoed from the other line, like something had been dropped.
“What the fuck?” Richard cursed from the other line. “Are you out of your fucking mind? Why would you take that?”
“As if I have a choice to say no.” She said, shaking her head as she walked out of the building and walking towards her car.
When she suddenly saw a familiar figure not far away, standing beside her car, looking at her.
“Holy shit,” She uttered as she stops from walking.
“What? What is it? Something happened?” Richard asked worriedly from the other line.
“I’ll call you later,” She siad and immediately hung up the call.
Maelis couldn’t help but gulp as she stared at the fine man staring at her. She felt like her heart was about to come out of her chest when he took a step, coming close to her.
“You look like you saw a ghost,” the man said as he stood in front of her,
“Oh god, isn’t that Lucien Allard?” a woman said away from them.
“Did you forget how to talk? Or did you get your tongue cut off?” Lucien said and smirked.
“Ah—no, I was…I was just shocked.” Maelis said as she tried to pull herself together. “I never thought the day would come that Lucien Allard would be the one to come to me.” She said as she smiled at him.
‘Pull yourself together, Maelis, stupid!’
“Did I say I came here for you?” Lucien makes Maelis ' eyebrow raise as she also grips her gym bag tighter.
‘He really knows how to get on my nerve’
“I mean…why not? I would rather think that way than think you came here for another woman.” She said and winked at him.
“We need to talk, but not here.” He said. “Somewhere private.” He added.
Maelis smiled and looked at the women behind her, and smirked at them.
“Sure, let’s go somewhere private.” She said, almost announcing it.
‘So petty Maelis, She said to herself as she walked beside him
Maelis frowned as soon as she parked her car in front of a huge house.
‘Is this his house? Why would he bring me here?’
She took a deep breath, opened the side zipper of her bag, grabbed a long metal hair accessory, rolled her hair in a bun, and used the stick to keep it in a bun.
“Where are we?” She asks.
“Follow me,” Lucien said and walked inside.
“You know, Mr. Allard, I’m all for getting to know each other. I think bringing me home like this is a big step.” She jokingly said as she looked around.
‘This is too clean and boring to be his main house.’
“Why did you---” Maelis tried to speak, but stopped as soon as she saw Lucien pointing a gun at her head.
“Who sent you?” He asks.
‘Fuck’
“You’re not so smart, huh? Do you really think I wouldn’t know?” Lucien said.
“You really brought me here to kill me? You’re so sweet, Mr. Allard.” Maelis said and laughed.
But as she lifted her head, she quicklty grab the gun and pointed it away from her, a loud sound of gun shot rings inside the room, and the shattering of a vase can be heard. She quickly grabbed the hairpin on her bun and tried to twist Lucien’s arm, but he moved fast and pinned her arms to her back.
“So you do work for the La Vidas?” Lucien said that made Maelis frown.
“W-what?” Maelis asks.
‘How did those fucker gets involve with me? He doesn’t know I work with the Arcana.’
“Give me a name,” Lucien said, and held her arm tighter, making her grunt in pain.
“And why would I do that?” She asked and tried to free herself.
“Because I have something that you might want,” he said, which made Maelis frown and look at him.
“What do you mean?” She asks.
“I have the people who killed your friend.” He said that made Maelis stops from resisting.
“What do you mean?” She said in a cold tone.
“I’ll give them to you if you give me a name.” He said.
“Bring me to them if you want me to talk.”
Maelis couldn’t hear anything, but her heart beat as they walked deeper in the dungeon. She was clenching her fist as she walk pass by the metal doors.
“Here,” Lucien said and opened the door,
Maelis saw and recognized each of the faces of the six men in front of her, they are tide uo with a thick layer of duct tape wrap on their mouths. Maelis could feel her blood rushing inside her body, her eyes was lock, memorizing the faces of these people.
‘I’ll make sure to memorize your face before I ruin themso that even a dog won’t even recognize you as a human being.’
“Terry Wenz, that's the name,” She said.
Lucien frowned; he couldn’t read her face. There is no emotion; it’s like he is standing here with a different person from the person he just met in front of the gym earlier.
“How can I believe----” Lucien said, but stopped as Maelis suddenly grabbed a thick metal pipe and swung it at the leg of the man in the middle.
“You can kill me later if you don’t believe me, do whatever torture you want. But let me kill them first.”
