Chapter 317 Save Her
Among these fervent fans, Vivian recognized one whom she had met before. The girl seemed to be a senior fan of Owen, and many other fans of Owen listened to her.
Therefore, after seeing these people, Vivian decided to take a detour.
It was not that she couldn't handle them, but she didn't want to cause trouble in public, and she didn't want her grandmother to be frightened.
However, those fervent fans were sharp-eyed and immediately spotted her.
The leading girl then directed the other fans to chase after her.
Even Margaret felt that something was wrong this time.
"Vivian, are those people coming towards us? Are they fans of Owen who believed the false news online? Are they the ones who splashed the dirty water on you last time?"
Vivian nodded. "Yes, I have seen one of them."
"Let's go quickly and try to avoid conflicts with them," Margaret said with a sigh. "If only I had listened to you and gone to that more upscale restaurant, we probably wouldn't have run into these fans there, right?"
"Grandmother, don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. It's not too late for us to change places now."
"Okay, let's walk faster," Margaret said, immediately grabbing Vivian's arm.
Vivian held Margaret's arm tightly and said comfortingly, "Okay, we can walk faster, but there is no need to rush, Grandmother. I have a bodyguard with me today."
As soon as Vivian finished speaking, Mason, dressed in all black, stepped forward and blocked the group of fervent fans.
He was agile, able to handle three to five fans on his own without any difficulty.
Unable to approach, the fans resorted to throwing things toward Vivian.
Some threw bottled water, some threw shoes, and some even threw used sanitary napkins at Vivian. It seemed like they were prepared early on. Even if she didn't show up at the mall today, they might have blocked her at the company gate.
Although none of these things hit Vivian, she couldn't help but feel sorry for these young girls causing such a mess in a public place.
Margaret was also shocked. "Are young people nowadays so shameless? It's a disgrace. Vivian, should we call the police?"
"Yes, let the security handle it. I don't want to waste time here because of these few people."
"Okay, let's hurry and leave, or who knows what these people might do."
The two boarded the escalator, and Vivian's phone suddenly rang.
The caller ID showed a string of numbers. Although she didn't have this number saved, she knew it was Owen.
She answered the phone without a greeting and went straight to the point.
"Cut to the chase. If you're here to apologize again, let me tell you for the last time. It's not necessary. But you really should discipline your fans."
"It's not about that." Owen sounded a bit urgent. "I just wanted to ask if you're on the third floor of Maple Plaza."
"Are you here too?" Vivian immediately made this judgment.
Meanwhile, she looked up at the building.
With one glance, she spotted a man on the fourth floor, wearing a hat and a mask that concealed him completely.
Vivian recognized him immediately. It was indeed Owen.
However, she only glanced at Owen before withdrawing her gaze and continuing to walk forward.
She coldly said to Owen on the phone, "Since you witnessed what just happened, please control your fans. In this day and age, fans' actions reflect on the idol, and you have a responsibility and obligation to guide them properly."
"I know!" Owen immediately responded. "I will take responsibility for this matter."
"Okay. Gotta go. Don't call me unless necessary."
With that, Vivian immediately hung up the phone.
But on the fourth floor, Owen saw some situations that Vivian couldn't see.
If he wasn't mistaken, someone was following her right now!
He wanted to tell Vivian about his discovery, but the phone was already in a busy tone after being hung up.
He hastily dialed Vivian's number again.
To be honest, he was very worried that Vivian had already blocked him and would not pick up his calls anymore.
However, he was glad that the call was quickly answered.
When he picked up the phone again, Vivian was already a bit impatient. "What do you want, Owen?"
Owen instinctively muttered, "Thank God you answered my call."
Vivian was even more impatient. "I'll ask you again. What do you want?"
"I saw someone following you. I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman from the outfit. I don't know if it's my fan, but you must be careful. Don't take the escalator. I'm worried they might attack you from behind."
Vivian heard the anxious tone in Owen's voice and realized he wasn't joking. She immediately looked around.
As she observed the crowd, she asked Owen, "What kind of outfit? What clothes does the person wear?"
"That person is gone! I just saw that person, but by the time I made the call, he had gone. He is wearing a cap, a white T-shirt, and blue jeans. He looks very ordinary, average height, no other distinguishing features at all."
"Then you're right." Vivian turned around and saw at least eight people wearing white t-shirts and blue jeans. Among them, two were wearing baseball caps and three were wearing bucket hats.
But as Owen had said, this person was not among them. He or she had probably hidden himself by now.
After all, it was hard to defend herself from hidden enemies. Maybe this person would really suddenly appear and push her and her grandmother down the escalator together.
She didn't want to take the risk with her grandmother. She adopted Owen's suggestion and prepared to take the elevator, even though she was only on the third floor now.
Meanwhile, Owen also ran down from the fourth floor. He planned to be with Vivian so that if anything happened later, he could help out.
However, no one expected that the person happened to be hiding on the route that Vivian and Margaret had to pass to take the elevator, so it was a lucky coincidence.
At that moment, Vivian was only focused on observing if anyone was catching up from behind, completely ignoring what was in front of her.
Just as she was about to turn the corner, a person wearing a hat suddenly rushed over with a knife.
As soon as Vivian realized the danger, she immediately pushed Margaret away, then prepared to resist and save herself.
Because they were very close to each other, there was not enough time for Vivian to react.
She knew she could definitely avoid the knife, even though she might get a minor injury due to the angle.
As long as it didn't hurt her vital organs, a little physical pain didn't matter to her.
But neither of them had expected at that moment, another person suddenly rushed out and directly blocked in front of Vivian. He got stabbed to save her...
