Chapter 311: Make a Move in the Dark

In the end, the two of them left the house at the same time.

However, it started raining suddenly ten minutes ago.

This residential area was quite large, and parking on the ground was convenient. Thus, most of the owners' cars were parked on the ground, and Ethan's car was no exception.

In order to prevent Vivian from getting wet in the rain, Ethan planned to drive the car directly in front of her.

But no one expected that just as Ethan walked out of the building entrance, ready to go and get the car, a flowerpot suddenly fell from the sky.

Seeing the flowerpot about to fall on Ethan's head, Vivian immediately shouted.

Since Ethan didn't have an umbrella, upon hearing Vivian's voice, he immediately stepped back, thus avoiding a tragedy.

Meanwhile, the large flowerpot shattered into several pieces upon hitting the ground.

Ethan immediately looked up, but he didn't see anything at all.

Vivian quickly walked up to him, frowning.

"If you hadn't dodged just now, you would have been dead. Every balcony in each household is semi-enclosed, and many are fully enclosed. How could a flowerpot fall down? Have you offended someone recently?"

Ethan glanced at the mess on the ground, furrowing his brow. "I've offended quite a few people, but I can't imagine who would want to kill me..."

Ethan paused and subconsciously looked towards the floor where Vivian's apartment was, where Margaret now lived and continued.

"Moreover, it happened in Harmony Heights. I can't think of anyone here. I have no clue."

"In that case, let's go to the property management office. The person who did it is either a resident or an outsider. We can't investigate the residents, but if it's an outsider, they would definitely leave some traces in the hallway."

"Alright." Ethan nodded. "Let's go."

The two quickly arrived at the property management office.

After hearing about the situation, the property management personnel immediately pulled up the surveillance footage of their building.

Not only this morning but also in the past three days, no outsider was seen carrying a flowerpot and going up the stairs. The only person who went to clean the hallway every two days was the janitor.

There was no way to investigate this matter. The property management personnel could only suggest that Ethan park his car in the underground parking lot in the future, thus avoiding activities on the ground.

Both Ethan and Vivian understood this. This matter could only be dropped.

However, this incident had ruined Vivian's mood. She asked Ethan, "Do you think it's Quinton?"

Ethan shook his head. "If it's Quinton, his main target should be you instead of me. Anyway, be careful recently. How about you come to the company with me later?"

"No." Vivian refused. "I still need to meet Mason and then go to Sampson's house to find Sally. In the afternoon, I'll come to find you, and then we can go to Owen's birthday party together in the evening."

"Then, you should take care of yourself. Reply to my messages or calls promptly."

Vivian frowned slightly, "Actually, I am more worried about you now."

"Don't worry." Ethan raised his hand and gently touched Vivian's head. "I will be careful."

...

After talking to Mason, Vivian went directly to the Sampson's house to find Sally.

However, what surprised her was that Sheldon was also at home today.

Vivian was curious. "Why don't you go to work today?"

"I wanna relax!" Sheldon glanced at Sally and whispered to Vivian, "Mainly to console Sally. She's feeling a bit down. You guys chat first. After that, I'll take you out to have some fun."

"Okay." Vivian nodded. "But you two can go together. I won't go. I have another plan later."

"What's the plan?"

"I have a party to attend tonight. I plan to go out and pick a dress."

"That's perfect!" Sheldon said. "I'll take Sally with you. Today, I can treat you guys. Women should go shopping for dresses, and it will be great to take Sally along."

Vivian was speechless. "I can go with Sally, but why are you also going with us?"

"I am your wallet!"

"Do you think we look like we lack money?"

"That I can help you carry your bags. Are you kidding? Which queen goes out without attendants?" Sheldon said, bowing to Vivian as a gesture. "Look, I am your attendant."

Vivian didn't argue with Sheldon anymore because she knew she couldn't shake him off today. In the end, the three of them went to the commercial street together.

Vivian and Sally both favored the same brand, and Sheldon had also worn a few sets of their men's clothing, so the three of them didn't wander aimlessly and went straight to that store.

Sheldon loved dressing up, and when trying on clothes, he insisted on getting advice from Vivian and Sally.

Vivian planned to choose a dress by herself, not wanting to waste time with Sheldon at all, so she kicked him away.

He had no choice but to drag Sally with him.

After browsing for a while, Vivian set her sights on a black strapless fishtail gown.

But just as she was about to reach out and touch the fabric, a young and beautiful woman suddenly rushed over and shouted at her.

"Don't touch it. I spotted it first. I need to try it on first. If I am not satisfied after trying it, then you can touch it."

Vivian was confused. Were people nowadays acting so unreasonably? "If you had the dress in your hand, I guarantee I wouldn't even look at it. But it's still hanging on the display rack right now. Do you think it's appropriate for you to say you want to try it first?"

"What's wrong with it? I said I took a fancy to it first. I just haven't tried it on yet. Do you understand the concept of 'first come, first served'?" The young woman was arrogant and unreasonable in her words.

Vivian chuckled, "Even if you try it on, does that mean it's automatically yours?"

Before the woman could retort, a plainly dressed girl suddenly ran over.

She rushed directly to Vivian, on the verge of crying.

"Miss, could you give us this dress? It was my fault. It was actually my boss who took a fancy to it first, but I forgot to take it to the fitting room. That's why it's in this situation now. Can you please do us a favor and find some other clothes? Otherwise, I'll be in a difficult situation today."

Vivian frowned. She didn't want to tolerate the woman from before at all.

However, this girl seemed to be genuinely in a difficult position, and Vivian didn't want to make things difficult for the girl.

Besides, the woman just said she took a fancy to this dress, which made Vivian instantly lose interest in it.

"Well then, for your sake," Vivian said, taking a few steps forward and looking at another black dress.

But at that moment, the woman from before spoke up again, "I also took a fancy to that dress, so put it down."

Vivian remained silent for a second, then turned her head.

She looked at that woman with an icy gaze and asked, "Is this shop owned by you?"

The woman sized Vivian up, feeling proud as she said, "Although I didn't own this shop, I could buy everything I tried on. These items, along with what I'm wearing, make a total of three."

Vivian smiled. It seemed that she was judged because she dressed too casually today.

She looked at the woman and said, "Then you must not have paid yet, right?"
