Chapter 161: The Fall Festival Part 2

The Rock Canyon Pack Meeting Two Hours Later

The entire Council was on the podium looking out at the pack. Additionally, Alpha Scott, Luna Yvette of Blue Mountain were there, Davidson, James, their parents, and all my brothers and sisters-in-law were there as well. I stood there not knowing what to expect. Why did he (Elder Graham) want everyone here?

The pack was eerily quiet. You could see some of them trembling where they stood. They knew this was not going to be good news. They could all tell by the way that Elder Graham stood he was not happy at all. Elder Graham addressed the pack:

Rock Canyon Pack, I wish I could say it is a pleasure to address you all today. It is not. I shouldn't even be addressing you at all. We should all still be enjoying the Fall Festival that the Lunas have worked so tirelessly on to make it the success that it is.

However, there's always got to be someone who doesn't want to play nice with the rest of us. Someone who just has to destroy or undermine everyone's happiness. I know several of you have no clue what I am referring to and others know exactly what I am talking about.

Let me explain. Luna Sandra has been observed walking around the festival with Alpha Davidson with her two youngest children today. They have talked with many, many pack members from Red River, Blue Mountain, Saltwater, and Rock Canyon. Laughter was in the air. Everything appeared to be going great.

When she left areas, we heard snide remarks that were made behind her back by members of this pack. Comments that I thought we were long past."

Murmurs and shocked gasps could be heard throughout the gathering.

"Silence! Then, one she-wolf took it a step further and confronted Luna Sandra head-on. Luna Sandra saw a quilt she liked and picked it up to look at it. Well, let's just say, the she-wolf made it sound like Luna Sandra snatched it from her when Luna Sandra picked it up from the table per the eyewitness accounts. Luna Sandra didn't say anything to her until she was directly spoken to. She was not rude or disrespectful to the she-wolf as the she-wolf was to Luna Sandra. Alpha Davidson actually recorded the verbal assault on his phone for us.

Now, this pack has been given too many opportunities to straighten yourselves out. Evidently, we just can't seem to get through to this pack. We have placed the guilty members in the dungeons, given them lashings, and banished them as examples and still, we have some who have not learned from this.

There's only one thing left to do and that would be to disband this pack and to split it with Red River and Blue Mountain."

Growls and gasps were heard in the gathering.

I was shaking because I was so upset. I had tears forming in my eyes. All this was happening because of what my grandfather did. I looked at James with a look of disbelief and I kept shaking my head 'no.'

'I can't let that happen to this pack James. I just can't' I told him through our link.

'If that's what he wants to do baby, there's nothing I can do about it,' James sadly stated back to me.

Michael and my brothers all had a look of disbelief on their faces. We all couldn't believe what we heard. The growling and discontent were getting louder from the pack members.

I slowly walked in front of the Council members and stood beside Elder Graham and kneeled in front of him. I had tears trickling down my face.

"Silence!" commanded Elder Graham.

"Elder Graham, please … please do not … disband Rock Canyon because of me. James …" I sobbed, "James … has done nothing … most of this pack … has done nothing to deserve this. Please," I pleaded barely above a whisper on my knees in front of him.

"Luna Sandra, stand up. You have done nothing wrong. You are not being punished," declared Elder Graham.

"Alpha James is my mate. If you disband Rock Canyon … he will no longer be an Alpha. He is being punished for what my grandfather did. He doesn't deserve that. No one deserves that except me. Everyone died or got injured because they protected me. PUNISH ME. Not the pack. Please," I pleaded and begged still on my knees; my head bowed down with tears rolling down my face.

"Luna Sandra, STAND UP NOW!" commanded Elder Graham. "Luna Sandra, I cannot punish you for any of this."

My brothers had come up behind me and had already kneeled behind me as a sign of solidarity. When I stood up, they stood up as well.

"Elder Graham, you cannot punish James or the pack either. They aren't to blame-it was my grandfather's doing," I screeched. "He's the one who brought all this on the pack. We're the ones who have to bear the pain of it all, not him. Please don't punish the pack! Please just punish me. He SOLD ME-not them," I sobbed as I collapsed into Patrick's arms.

"Sandy, it's not your fault either. Can't you see that? You did nothing wrong. Please stop … you don't deserve punishment for anything," sobbed Patrick as he held me.

"It's all Grandpa's fault. And yet, he's not here to receive any blame! We are! He's not!" fumed Timothy. "I hope all of you are happy! This is what the guilt has done to her over the years! It has eaten her alive! She doesn't deserve it! You don't deserve her as a Luna!" shouted Timothy to the Rock Canyon Pack.

"Tim don't … lash out at them. You know she wouldn't want you to do that," admonished Ariel to Timothy as she wrapped her arms around him.

"Please, I want to go home. I never … want to be here ever again. Please, I want to go home," I begged Patrick who was holding me.

"We'll take you home Luna Sandra," declared Michael as he came forward with Davidson and James.

"Elder Graham, when you get a chance may we speak in private, please? I think I need to cut all ties with the Rock Canyon Pack," I softly stated.

"If that is your wish, I will meet you at your home after this meeting. Alpha Michael, will you and your brothers please escort Luna Sandra home," commanded Elder Graham.

"As you wish, Elder Graham," replied Michael.

Michael gently led me off the stage. Patrick picked me up and carried me to the car so we could go home. Davidson and James stayed behind as per Elder Graham's request. As we walked past the pack, a few pack members kneeled, but the majority of them did not. That spoke volumes to everyone present.

Elder Graham was pissed. He talked with the other council members via their link. He knew if he dished out any punishments right now, it would be reactionary and not the correct punishment.

Elder Terrance stepped forward and announced, "Rock Canyon Pack, you will all go home and think about what just happened here. You had a Luna on her knees begging the Council not to punish your pack but to punish her for something she didn't even do. Yet, she is willing to sacrifice herself for you. And yet, there are some of you who don't believe she's worthy enough to be your Luna. I think you're not worthy enough for her. Think about that. Go home. We will reconvene here tomorrow at Noon-everyone will be here. Dismissed!"
