Chapter 160: The Fall Festival Part 1

We trudge on with our duties and our commitments to one another. I continue to ignore negative people while improving the lives of our pups and our communities. We are currently planning a huge fall festival which will encompass four packs including the Saltwater Pack and the Blue Mountain Pack because it is close enough to our packs. We will be holding the festival in the neutral territory. I am looking forward to having some fun with Patrick and Kacey. I haven't seen their daughter Ceceila in a long time. She is only three months older than Brianna and Joshua.

Sorry, I digress. We invited the Council members so they could see how the Rock Canyon pack has improved (hopefully) enough to come off probation. Anyway, the Fall Festival will take place in one month.

The planning is going smoothly. All the Luna's have their staff working together to create a wonderful Fall Festival. We have reached out to the packs to see if any of the pack members wanted to have a booth for crafts or other merchandise they wanted to sell. We also wanted it known that all food items and rides at the festival would be free of charge. We wanted everyone in the pack to come and enjoy themselves no matter what their station.

What I didn't tell anyone was that the Council reached out to me. They found Grandpa's offshore bank accounts. After he paid off his debts, he collected the money and saved it for a 'rainy' day according to him. They wanted to give it to me. I talked it over with James, Davidson, and my brothers. We would spend some of the money on the Fall Festival for the food and the rides. Then, we would place the remainder of the money in pack funds for warriors-to treat injuries, hospitals, and widows. That was the best use of the money we could come up with.

The day of the Fall Festival was here. Greyson and Owen were bursting with excitement. The grandfathers decided that they would be responsible for the boys so we would be responsible for the younger children. Thanks for that. They wanted to ride the rides. We gave Ms. Michaels and Ms. Phelps the day off because they deserve some downtime too. To my surprise, both Luna Ann and Luna Margarite came over and took charge of Cassie and Jackie for the day which only left us with Brianna and Joshua.

The day was going great, everyone was having a good day. Everyone we passed by had a smile on their face and had nice things to say. Laughter filled the air.

We, Davidson and I, were walking around the craft booths when a quilt caught my eye. The colors and the pattern caught my eye. It was a beautiful hodgepodge of blues and yellows put together. It was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. As soon as I picked it up, it was snatched out of my hands.

"I was looking at that! What is your problem?" snapped Gretchen Hollister.

"Ma'am, she picked it up first. You are being rude," the lady behind the table declared.

"She snatched it from me. I was looking at it first. Why aren't you addressing her?" demanded Gretchen to the lady.

"First, you weren't holding it. Second, you don't have to be so rude. Third, I don't have to sell my quilt to you. Please leave," demanded the lady behind the table.

"Why do people always stand up for you? Why are they always doing what you want them to do?" Huh?" demanded Gretchen.

"First of all, Gretchen, I just walked up here and saw a beautiful quilt. I picked it up so I could look at it closer. Second, I didn't do anything to you. What is your problem?" I demanded.

"My problem is you! Because of you, the entire pack is on probation! YOU caused the pack to look bad!" declared Gretchen.

"Silence! Let me set you straight right now she-wolf. It's wolves like YOU that caused Rock Canyon to be on probation, NOT Luna Sandra. YOU!!!" bellowed Elder Graham.

"Elder Graham," I greeted him as I bowed toward him as did the lady behind the table.

Evidently, when Gretchen began her verbal assault, Davidson didn't hesitate to call upon Elder Graham to come and have a listen.

At that moment James and Beta Rafferty appeared with several other wolves from Rock Canyon.

"Beta Rafferty, have this she-wolf escorted to the dungeons at Rock Canyon. Have her placed in silver," commanded Elder Graham. "Alpha James, get this she-wolf's information. She will need to provide a written statement of what transpired here."

"As you wish, Elder Graham," James declared quickly.

"I want all of Rock Canyon wolves to report to the training grounds in one hour," commanded Elder Graham. "Luna Sandra, I will need you and your brothers there as well,"

"As you wish, Elder Graham" we chorused in unison.

Before we left, I bought the quilt. I also got her name and number. I wanted to look at a few more of her quilts but couldn't due to what Elder Graham had just requested. We had to start rounding everyone up.
