Chapter 75 - Fated to the cursed Alpha

Kane

I sat on the bed next to Em, holding her hand I could see the sudden seriousness on her face. Her tired eyes that were struggling to stay open only moments ago were now like saucers. wide open.

“Em, what is it?” I asked her, I couldn't deny I was feeling slightly on edge seeing the sudden mood change on her face.

“Well, I...” she hesitated, closing her mouth she frowned slightly, what could be so hard for her to tell me.

“Em, you're worrying me, whatever it is that is worrying you..”

“No” She shook her head slightly, a smile began to form on her beautiful face, this made me relax slightly knowing it wasn't as serious as I was beginning to think.

“I'm not worried, I'm actually really happy about this, and I think you will be too”

She shifted on the bed so she was sitting on her knees, looking up at me, she had a strange twinkle in her eye. “If you're happy about whatever it is you want to tell me then I agree, I'm sure, I will be happy also”

She lent forward and kissed me as she pulled away slowly I waited in anticipation as to what she could possibly have to tell me. “You are going to be a fa...”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Sudden banging on the door pulled us both from our moment. I growled loudly at their god awful timing, “Hold that thought” I told Em holding her chin, I kissed her as I got up from the bed. Walking to the door “Someone better be dying out there!” I shouted as I pulled open the door.

My heart sank as we were interrupted by the sudden outburst of knocking on the other side of our bedroom door. Kane answered the door, I could see it was Ryder, I listened to his panicked voice. “Something's wrong in the cells”

“Shit” Kane came back to the bed slipping on his shoes, Blair ran inside the room and came and sat by my side, I took a hold of her hand “Stay here, both of you, I'll send Kala in also”

“No, I think the safe room would be more appropriate,” Ryder said, Kane turned to him immediately, I saw the look they gave one another, There was more to this than Ryder was letting on.

Kane took my hand and lead me out of the room, Ryder knocked on Rose's door. Once Ansel and Kala joined were out of their rooms and everyone followed us down to the kitchen. We headed down into the basement and through the large steel door where Kala was once kept alive. It still contained a lot of equipment but there seemed a lot more room in here now.

“Stay here and wait for us to come back,” Kane said to me but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Let me help, I can..” I began.

“No!” he said sternly, “You need to be safe here, promise me you will stay here”

I rolled my eyes but I knew he was right, suddenly I felt a small kick in the bottom of my belly, I held onto it remembering it wasn't just my life I would be putting in jeopardy now, I had our pup to think of. “OK, I will be here” I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him. He was quick to leave shortly after with Ryder and Ansel.

I watched as they all ran out the door, Blair locking it behind them. I turned around to see Rose, she was standing staring at me, her eyes firmly set on my hand which was still on my stomach, I moved my hand slowly so I was standing with crossed arms, acting as normal as I could without her picking up on anything else.

We all made small talk, None of us said anything but we knew something must be wrong, it had been a good couple of hours and we were all worried. Never before has Blackwood had to take precautions like this, since Kane took over from his father he had gained the reputation of someone not to be messed with.

“Do you think it is Victor, maybe he escaped?” I asked.

“No, there is no way he would have got out of them cells, trust me my father had them built so they were unbreakable” Blair explained.

“All will be ok, they will be down here soon to let us know all is safe” Rose smiled as she tried to make us relax.

Some more time passed, Kala and Blair were fast asleep on the old bed, It was just after 7 am and they still weren't back. I paced the floor constantly, both the wolf and myself feeling uneasy, I knew something wasn't right.

“Come my girl, take a seat next to me, your going to make a trench between us and the door if you pace much more” Rose held out her hand to me.

“Something isn't right Rose, I know it,” I said as I took hold of her hand, she pulled me down into the seat beside her.

“They just have to make sure everything is ok before..”

“Rose I'm not stupid, I would be more useful out there than I am in here, my skills match Kane's, I can fight,” I choked, tears began to pool in my eyes.

“I know! You have exceptional talent I've seen it, But do you really think Kane will let you out there to fight in your condition?” I whipped my head around to look at Rose. Damn! She knew. “Relax, I've not said anything to the others, I figured you and Kane would tell us when your ready” She smiled rubbing the top of my hand.

“Kane doesn't know yet, I've only just found out myself” I sighed, wiping the tears from my cheeks. “I tried telling him tonight but then all this happened” I threw my hands up in the air dropping them back onto my knees.

“You will get your chance to tell him, just don't be too harsh on yourself, one thing I am certain of is he is going to be so happy to find out he is going to be a father!”

“Kane is going to be a father!” Blair shouted In excitement, she jumped off the bed and came running over to me throwing her arms around me, squealing a high pitched squeal. Kala was still half asleep as she pushed herself off the bed, rubbing her eyes to try and wake herself up.

“Ok, I think I was dreaming” Kala croaked.

“No we are going to be Aunties” Blair shrieked.

Kala came to me and pushed Blair to the side, “My turn!” She bent down to me hugging me just as tight as Blair did. “Congratulations!”

“Thankyou, all of you but we need to keep this quiet, I've not managed to speak to Kane about it yet, It's still a shock to me I only found out like 24 hours ago”

“How did you find out? Was it while you were at Bluemoon?” Kala asked excitedly.

“No, my wolf actually told me, then I felt him, like a small movement inside me” I laughed as I felt the small kick once again as I said it, he was certainly full of beans.

“It's a boy?” Blair asked.

I shrugged my shoulders “I don't know exactly, I just have a feeling”

“Regardless, he will be the most loved pup in the pack” Rose beamed as she hugged us all together.

Kane

What started off as an easy situation had turned into a complete nightmare. The emergency we were alerted to was Joshua, his wolf caught Lydia's scent. It led him straight to the cells, of course, he had trouble getting in at first but that soon changed as he managed to bypass the security system. It wasn't until now I realized Joshua was head of security at Eric's pack, no wonder he got inside so quick.

Lydia had gone into heat, her wolf must have felt Joshua's presence and brought it on. We got there just in time to stop him from getting into her cell, The whole night we held back every unmated male within miles of here. She had wronged us, yes but I was in no way willing to let all these men have their way with her. The smell of her heat drove them insane, it was like a massacre of bodies at one point, slowly and surely they all began to heal and walk away with their tail between their legs, and their pride shattered.

It was a good thing Ryder wanted the women in the safe room, If any of these men had touched any of them I would be out for the kill right now. I knew this wasn't their fault, it was only natural for their wolf to want a female in heat, if they are unmated their wolves will be craving a female until they do either find their true mate or a chosen mate.

The sun had already come up, we had Joshua contained in another cell, by contained I meant he was completely knocked out on the floor. Most of the men in the pack had given up trying to get to Lydia. There were still a few that were trying, attacking us in groups in the hope someone would get in.

“I think that is about the last of them, Her scent seems to of calmed” Ryder sighed as he slid down the wall. He was pretty badly beaten, we were all tired, our clothes torn and I could taste the iron in my mouth, someone must have got a lucky swing in.

“Yeah I think your right, I want to leave Joshua in here for a few more hours, make sure he doesn't try anything stupid. We should get back though, the women will be going mad” I walked back in the cells making sure everything was secure and locked before we all headed back to the house.

I opened the door to see all the women huddled together on the chairs, As soon I knocked, Em was the first to spring into action unbolting the door. She threw it back and jumped into my arms. “Thank heavens your ok!” She cried.

The others ran past me straight into the arms of their mates. Rose stood back and watched us, “If everything is ok, why don't you all go and get some sleep” she looked at Em and winked.

As we walked back upstairs Em kept her arms wrapped around my waist, “Are you hurt?” She asked, I couldn't help but love her more for her caring nature. She knew it would take a lot to hurt me but still, she was scared for me.

“I'm fine, I'm not injured” I smiled down at her kissing the top of her head.

She hummed as she moved her arm looking at the mud that was now on her, “Ok, your not hurt but you are very dirty!” She smirked. Brushing away the dried mud and lose twigs that had attached themselves to her.

EMBRY

We made it to the bedroom, Kane headed straight for the shower, he told me to get into bed, but I couldn't get comfortable, I just wanted to be near him, he had to know the truth.

I walked into the bathroom, he was standing with his back to me in the shower, his hair freshly washed, he was gently rubbing soap over his body. As I watched him, the muscles in his back flexed with every movement, I felt a strange sensation between my legs, I all of a sudden became hot. I mean how could I not want him now while he is standing in all his glory.
