Unspoken Secrets

Unspoken Secrets
Graham moved through the night with a purpose, the moonlight casting long shadows on the campus grounds as he walked steadily toward the dormitory.

His mind was preoccupied, but it wasn’t the normal thoughts that occupied him tonight.

No, tonight, his focus was elsewhere—on Maya, and on the opportunity that had just presented itself.

With Lily out on that romantic rooftop date with Lucas and Liam, this was the perfect time for him to slip away, to indulge in a rare moment of intimacy with Maya, to leave the stresses of pack politics behind for a few hours.

He smiled to himself as he adjusted his coat collar, thinking of the way Maya's eyes would light up when she saw him at her door, her arms open and her lips welcoming.

He was looking forward to it, deeply so.

As Graham approached the dormitory, a sudden rustle in the hallway caught his attention.

He paused for a moment, ears sharp, and turned to see Lena sneaking toward the exit.

Her movements were unusually hurried, and her usual calm demeanor seemed to be replaced with a strange, jittery energy that Graham couldn’t quite place.

His senses immediately went into overdrive.

There was something wrong here, something off about Lena tonight.

“Lena,” Graham called, his voice smooth but commanding as always.

She froze, her back stiffening as though she hadn’t expected him.

Slowly, she turned around, giving him a tight smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.

“Oh, Graham! Didn’t see you there,” she said quickly, adjusting the strap of her bag. “I was just... heading out for a walk. Needed some fresh air.”

Graham studied her, his sharp eyes narrowing.

Her explanation didn’t sit right with him.

He had lived long enough to sense when someone was hiding something, and Lena's body language screamed that something was amiss.

“Out for a walk, huh?” Graham asked, raising an eyebrow. “At this hour?”

Lena fidgeted, her eyes darting toward the exit, then back to Graham.

“Well, you know… sometimes I just need to clear my mind. I’ve been cooped up in my room all day.”

But Graham wasn’t convinced. Her excuse made little sense.

His brow furrowed as he took a slow step closer.

“Lena, you’re not fooling me. There’s something else going on here.”

Lena seemed to stiffen even further, the words hanging in the air like a weight.

She gave him a strained smile, but it was clear she was trying to deflect.

“I really do need to go. I’m sorry, Graham, but I’m in a bit of a hurry,” she said, turning away as if eager to escape.

Graham stood still, watching her retreating back, but something gnawed at him, a sense of unease he couldn’t shake.

He took a deep breath, his senses still sharp, still tuned to her every movement.

He could smell her emotion lingering in the air.

It was fear, yes, but also something else. Anticipation, perhaps?

It was as though she was preparing herself for something. Or someone.

Graham stood there for a moment, his senses still on high alert.

Something wasn’t right.

Lena wasn’t the type to act like that unless she was hiding something.

He couldn't quite place what it was, but he had learned long ago that when a wolf’s instincts told him something was off, he needed to listen.

He turned and continued his path to Maya’s dorm.

The confusion from the encounter with Lena lingered in his mind, but he pushed it aside for now.

Tonight was for Maya. He would deal with Lena later.

Maya’s dorm room was quiet when Graham arrived, and the moment he stepped inside, he was greeted with a rush of warmth.

Maya was already there, waiting, a soft smile on her lips.

She was wearing a simple, yet alluring outfit, a silky black robe that clung to her curves, her hair loose and falling over her shoulders.

She didn’t waste any time.

As soon as he stepped over the threshold, she was in his arms, her lips finding his in a passionate kiss.

It was intoxicating, the way she always knew how to make his pulse race with just the touch of her lips.

The warmth of her body pressed against his made everything else fade into the background.

But as he kissed her, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

Maya must have noticed the hesitation in his movements because she pulled back slightly, her eyes searching his face.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, her voice low and gentle.

Graham tried to smile, but it felt forced.

“It’s nothing, really. Just... something’s been on my mind.”

Maya raised an eyebrow, her fingers trailing across his chest as she stepped closer, her breath warm against his ear.

“Graham, you know you can tell me anything. What’s bothering you?”

He hesitated, then let out a sigh.

“On my way here, I ran into Lena. She seemed to be in a hurry—sneaking out of the dorm, acting weird. And... I could smell fear on her.”

Maya’s eyes flashed with suspicion.

“Fear? From Lena? What’s she up to?”

“I’m not sure yet,” Graham admitted. “But it didn’t sit right with me. She was acting like she was hiding something. I tried asking her questions, but she dodged them and left in a rush. I don’t trust it.”

Maya crossed her arms, a pensive look on her face.

“I’ve been suspecting Lena for a while now. Something about her just doesn’t feel right. She’s always been too secretive, too and calculated. I don’t trust her either.”

Graham nodded, his mind still swirling with the encounter.

“We should be careful. I don’t know what she’s involved in, but I don’t want her pulling anything that could put us at risk.”

Maya stepped forward, her hands resting on his chest, her touch soft but firm.

“We’ll keep our eyes on her. But for tonight...” She smiled seductively, trailing her fingers down his chest. “Let’s not worry about Lena. Tonight is about us.”

Graham gave her a half-smile, but the thoughts about Lena still lingered in the back of his mind.

“Yeah,” he murmured, leaning down to kiss her again, but it wasn’t quite as fiery as before.

Still, Maya kissed him back with heat, and for a moment, he allowed himself to forget.

As the kiss deepened, his thoughts shifted, just for a moment, to the mystery of Lena’s actions.

What was she up to?

But tonight wasn’t about Lena. Tonight was about Maya.
