Chapter 54 I'll guide him well.
The long-awaited day finally arrived. Danieru and Camilla were sitting with a man in his forties. They were discussing several matters in the living room of Danieru's mansion.
The man was named Derin, one of the leaders of Jay's subsidiary companies, a fairly large company in its own right. Derin served as the head of Las Vegas Sands Corp., a major developer in North America and Asia. The development of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore was a testament to Sands Corp's global prestige. Their other projects included those in Las Vegas and Macau.
Danieru was quite surprised when Jay sent such a powerful figure to him. He hadn't even known how wealthy Jay was, or how he had become one of Cancri's trusted men. Well... to Danieru, Jay was Cancri's trusted man, and he was quite impressed by that.
"I'll place an advertisement promoting the opportunity to collaborate with our company. This might also pique the interest of your father and Hatsu." Derin leaned back on the sofa, staring at the newlyweds, who were now staring back at him. Who knows, this kind of action would also be detrimental to the company if Danieru and Camilla weren't smart enough.
"Are you sure about this plan?" Danieru asked. He met Derin's gaze, and was immediately surprised when Derin nodded his head so easily.
"But you and your wife must still be able to handle everything well. We're on your side now, and if we suffer any losses, you'll be responsible." Derin stared back at Danieru, completely unsure now that he only had control over the Malaike family's subsidiary company.
"I'll guide him well." Camilla tried to control the situation, knowing he would overthink things and their conversation would be far from over.
"So... what do you two have to offer?" Derin asked. He also had to be thorough and give Danieru and Camilla plenty of input. After all, they wouldn't just be using methods to win the project, but also to prove it would be truly successful.
Camilla began to think that finding something truly good wasn't easy these days. It wasn't that they couldn't afford it, but that there was already so much competition in the market. If they wanted to make it work, they had to take it seriously.
Danieru was the same, thinking hard about what they could offer Jay's company, so they wouldn't lose him in the long run.
"Many places are so expensive now, not everyone can afford them. There's always a barrier between the rich and the poor. That's a major issue in terms of comfort and satisfaction." Camilla stood up and paced back and forth, contemplating.
"Yes, you're quite right about that." Derin agreed with Camilla. Everything is now measured in terms of money. Not to mention the immense competition across the globe, from both small and large institutions.
"In this era, everyone relies more on digital advancements for various tasks. From shopping to studying, and much more." Danieru sighed. He had to find a gap that could easily propel them to the top and reach that position.
“So... what are your plans?” Derin raised an eyebrow. He now had a good feeling that Danieru and Camilla must have something very good they wanted to develop.
“I want a place that's truly beautiful and comfortable. A place that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their status.” Camilla grinned, winking at Danieru, making him blink several times.
“Can you explain it in more detail?” Derin asked.
“I need a day to develop the concept. After that, I'll discuss it with my husband, and when everything's ready, I'll send it to you. How about it?” Camilla looked at Derin, hoping he would accept her proposal as quickly as possible.
Danieru glanced at his wife. He didn't know what Camilla was thinking, but he was very impressed with Camilla's ability to come up with ideas quickly.
Danieru was also very confident that with Camilla by his side, they would win and become great people. The woman complemented his critical thinking, and her wife quickly came up with many ideas, and they would develop them together.
Derin immediately stood up. "I have to go now. Clean up this place, because there are foreign cars within a ten-kilometer radius."
Hearing Derin's explanation, the husband and wife immediately hurried off, while Derin also left the area.
...
After tidying up the living room, Danieru and Camilla felt a little more at ease. Hopefully, no strangers or relatives would visit today. They needed to plan quickly, and they needed to be very thorough.
Danieru looked at Camilla and then let out a shaky breath. "I don't think we're headed this way."
Camilla nodded. "I'm hungry, can you cook?"
"Yes, what would you like to eat today?" Danieru immediately stood up, extending his hand and smiling as Camilla took it.
"Anything, as long as it satisfies my hunger." Camilla immediately stood up and followed Danieru.
"What are your plans?" Danieru asked.
"I'll write them down, and you can read them when I'm done." Camilla chuckled, knowing he wasn't satisfied with her answer.
Danieru didn't reply to his wife. They entered the kitchen, and he quickly let go of Camilla's hand. He immediately headed for the refrigerator, while Camilla chose to sit and watch Danieru, who was eager to cook.
He didn't like working in the kitchen, and his mother had never offered him a chance.
"What's wrong?" Danieru asked.
"Can you teach me how to cook?" Camilla propped her head on her right hand, watching him select several ingredients.
"Cooking isn't just about chopping or mixing ingredients. You have to use love and joy." Danieru held back a smile as Camilla looked shocked.
"Think of cooking as writing a story. You prepare it with great care, pouring out your feelings. If you feel forced, it won't taste good. The same goes for if you're sad, angry, or dislike something. It'll all taste bland," Danieru said, walking to the refrigerator. He put in the ingredients he didn't need, then his eyes fell on a bottle of Coca-Cola.
Camilla, listening to Danieru's explanation, was stunned. She hadn't realized cooking could be considered an art form. “So, is this why chefs can create new and varied recipes?”
“Well... you could say that,” Danieru replied. The man closed the refrigerator door, then looked at Camilla and raised the Coca-Cola bottle in his hand.
“You think it’s wine?” Camilla was amused by Danieru’s attitude.
“No, but you should try it once in a while.”
“I hate fizzy drinks,” Camilla replied.
Danieru didn’t listen to Camilla’s argument. He immediately approached her and placed the bottle of Coca-Cola on the table.
“Do you like this drink?” Camilla asked. She reached for the bottle, staring at the writing on the red plastic wrap around the bottle. 1.5 milliliters, and Camilla felt a little creeped out at the thought of Danieru enjoying it alone.
“Do you want to learn to cook?” Danieru asked then.
“Yes, but maybe not now.”
Danieru chose to ignore Camilla, while Camilla rested her head on the table. She was currently thinking about every word she could string together for his project with Derin.
Camilla's eyes were closed; she really needed to think carefully about her plan now. But unfortunately for Camilla, her extremely hungry stomach prevented her from thinking clearly. She rubbed her stomach and glanced at Danieru.
Camilla understood that it would still be quite some time before the food was ready. She glanced at the bottle of Coca-Cola on the table, her eyes returning to it, and then considered shaking it.
The woman was trying to kill her boredom, staring at the liquid inside.
“Doggie, how long will it take for the food to be ready?” Camilla asked.
“About thirty minutes,” Danieru replied.
“Okay, get to work, and I'll wait.”
Danieru immediately started cooking. The man seemed completely focused, not even noticing Camilla waiting for him. Occasionally, Danieru smiled, seemingly thoroughly enjoying his cooking.
Camilla, seeing her husband's blank stare, returned her gaze to the Coca-Cola bottle on the table. Quickly, she reached for it and spent some time shaking it.
Camilla's eyes scanned the liquid inside, noticing the bubbles created by the shaking. She put her ear to the bottle and was delighted to hear a sound coming from inside.
"Done!"
Danieru's voice rang out, and Camilla quickly put down the bottle she had been playing with. She leaned back in her chair and smiled as Danieru approached her.
"How was it? Quick, wasn't it?" Danieru asked.
Camilla nodded her head and then smiled. Danieru, tired and thirsty, quickly reached for the Coca-Cola bottle on the table.
"What are you cooking?" Camilla asked.
Danieru, who was just about to open the bottle cap, paused. "I'm making an omelet."
"It's not very light," Camilla commented.
Danieru crossed his arms, glanced at his wife, and put on a blank expression. "You're such an annoying woman."
"I'm just commenting," Camilla replied.
Not wanting to argue, Danieru quickly opened the bottle in his hand. He wanted to drink immediately and quench his thirst. His tongue tasted bitter, and it was very annoying.
Shhh...
The bottle cap had loosened, and Danieru immediately stared at the bottle in his hand. The man resumed his action, opening the bottle perfectly.
Byurrr...
The Coca-Cola liquid quickly poured out and hit Danieru's face. He lifted his head and let go of the Coca-Cola bottle. Camilla glared at him, then wiped her face with her right hand.
"Kitty..." Danieru swallowed hard.
"Yes?" Camilla put on an innocent face. But the woman was also preparing to flee.
“You!” Danieru stepped toward Camilla. “Annoying! Annoying! You really are the woman who makes my emotions overflow!”
“Sorry, I thought it was just a normal liquid.”
Danieru, unable to contain his irritation, immediately ran toward Camilla, grabbed her hand, and pulled her away.
After he caught Camilla, Danieru laid her body on the table, crushed her lips, held her down, and refused to let her struggle. He was trying to calm his anger; this was better than hurting her like he had just done.
