Falling Into The Trap
"I'll be gone for a while. Don't let your guard down. You need to keep an eye on Briana," Joe ordered one of the bodyguards standing guard in front of Briana's room.
"Yes, boss. I'll carry out your orders," the man replied.
Joe walked quickly out of the hospital. Someone had just called him, and asked him to come to his office. There was a problem he had to solve.
The car Joe was driving was at high speed, cutting through the rush hour traffic like this. He wanted to get there as soon as possible. That way he could quickly solve the problem.
"Good afternoon Mr. Carter," a tall, well-dressed man greeted Joe as he walked into his office. The man extended his hand, inviting Joe to shake hands.
Joe returned the man's hand. He then asked his guest to sit back down. He silently watched his guest who looked unfamiliar and whom he had never met.
"Have we met before?" asked Joe while squinting his eyes.
"I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to introduce myself. My name is Bryan. This afternoon I'm representing Mr. Rheno from the Art and Building corps," the man explained.
Again Joe was surprised. He didn't seem to know the company and its owner. It seemed really suspicious.
"A little while ago my personal assistant contacted me. He said that there was a problem with the cooperation contract between your company and my company," Joe said after a moment of silence. "Can you tell me what that problem is?"
All this time Joe had left the contract matters to his personal assistant after he had checked beforehand. But this time everything seemed strange. He felt that he had never been in contact with the company.
Brian took out a large envelope from his bag that contained an important document. He pulled out the document and handed it to Joe. He cleared his throat briefly, then began to speak.
"There are several points in the contract that are detrimental to our company," Bryan said as he quickly opened the sheets of paper. Then he stopped at one sheet of paper.
"There doesn't seem to be anything wrong here," Joe said after repeatedly reading the contents on the paper.
"Really? Can I read it one more time?" Bryan asked.
"Please read this document again. I don't think there's anything wrong with it," Joe said, trying to be as casual as possible.
Bryan looked very serious as he read the document. His eyes were barely open. Meanwhile, his mouth was mumbling like he was chanting a mantra.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong," Bryan said with a guilty look in his eyes. He then put the document back into the envelope. "I really apologize for taking up your time."
"No problem. There's no downside to this meeting anyway," Joe replied soothingly.
"Then I'm going to this room now. I don't want to bother you anymore." Bryan stood up and extended his hand back to Joe.
Joe also stood up and welcomed Bryan's hand. "See you soon. Nice to meet you," Joe said before Bryan left the room.
After the stranger left, Joe immediately called his personal assistant to come and see him. Leo, his personal assistant, entered his room with an astonished look on his face. Leo looked like he was confused.
"Do you know the man who just came out of this room?" Joe asked probingly.
Leo shook his head slowly. "I don't know him at all and have never met him," Leo replied.
"Then why did he come here? He said he had contacted you earlier because he found a problem with the cooperation contract between this company and their company."
Leo frowned. Joe's words he didn't really understand not really. He felt that there was something strange about the meeting with his guest earlier.
"Wait a minute. Can you tell me the name of that man's company?" Leo asked finally.
"Art and Building corps. That's the name of the company," Joe replied briefly.
Leo seemed to be remembering something. Then he shook his head quickly. It looked like Joe had been fooled.
"I've never heard of that company. Don't you realize there's something odd here?" Leo looked straight at Joe. "You know yourself that I have always memorized all the names of the companies that cooperate with our company. I can't forget any of them because it's very important."
"You're absolutely right. Ever since I first saw her I felt that there was something strange. But I can't be sure," Joe said.
Then Joe seemed to get a clue. He rushed to call the bodyguard who was now at the hospital. He waited a long time, but his phone call was not answered.
Briana. Joe realized too late that what had just happened was related to Briana. Chris must have set him up with the strange guest. And it was his fault that he had fallen into the trap set by Chris.
After that Joe ran fast leaving his room. He had to move fast. Don't let his brother succeed in taking Briana.

A few hours ago.
A nurse came to Briana's room. She examined Briana's condition carefully. Briana looked at the nurse closely. The nurse looked unfamiliar. Briana had never met her before. Her movements looked very suspicious.
"I'm going to inject some painkillers," the nurse told Briana.
Briana seemed hypnotized. She let the nurse inject the yellow liquid through her IV. She could see the nurse grinning before she fell asleep.
The nurse took her cell phone from her pocket. Then she dialed someone. With quick movements, she pushed Briana's bed to the door.
"Everything is in order. Get the car ready now," the nurse said over the phone.

Joe arrived at the hospital half an hour later. He rushed to the elevator that took him to the floor where Briana's room was. The elevator doors opened. He ran towards Briana's room.
When Joe arrived in front of the room, he saw two of his bodyguards lying unconscious on the floor. He pushed the door open and saw that Briana was no longer there.
Joe immediately called Chris. One second later Chris picked up the phone. Chris burst out laughing.
"I managed to outwit you. Now Briana is in my hands," Chris said arrogantly. "I won't let you save her. Because after this she's going to die at my hands."
After speaking like that, Chris disconnected the phone. Joe cursed loudly. He cursed at himself for being fooled by his brother.
