Chapter 189 One Hundred & Eighty Nine
Chapter 189 One Hundred & Eighty Nine
Elara’s car cut through the dark streets, the engine growling as she raced toward the mansion. Every turn, every blur of streetlight fueled the fire in her chest. Her knuckles were white on the steering wheel.
When she finally pulled up, she didn’t even take a second to breathe. She flung open the car door and stormed toward the grand front entrance, her heels clacking hard against the marble steps.
“Raven! Come downstairs! NOW!” she screamed, her voice slicing through the quiet night.
The wind carried her words into the mansion, bouncing off the walls and echoing through the halls. Her chest heaved as she shouted again, “RAVEN! I SAID COME DOWN HERE!”
Inside, the sound of her voice made the household tense. Someone opened the blinds… Ganni peeked out, eyes wide and confused, and Raven froze mid-step on the staircase.
Elara’s shadow filled the doorway. Her expression was wild, determined, almost manic, eyes blazing with fury and obsession.
Raven’s lips parted, startled. “Elara… what… what are you doing here?”
Elara didn’t answer. She stormed forward, arms flailing slightly as she glared at Raven. “You think you can just take him from me? You think you can live here, pretend everything’s fine while I… while I…” Her voice cracked, a mixture of rage and desperation.
Raven took a cautious step back. “Elara, calm down… You need to leave.”
“Leave?” Elara laughed, a sharp, bitter sound. “You don’t get to tell me that! Not tonight! Not ever!”
Her screams rang louder, bouncing off the walls of the mansion.
Her voice cracked, raw and desperate, echoing through the mansion.
“Giovanni is MINE!” she screamed, pounding her fists against the doorframe. “MINE and MINE ALONE!”
Her eyes were wild, unblinking, filled with rage and obsession. She stepped closer, swaying slightly, breath coming in short, sharp bursts. “I won’t let you have him, Raven! I don’t care what you do… I don’t care what you think…you will never take him from me!”
Raven instinctively backed up, hands raised, trying to stay calm. “Elara… stop! You’re scaring Ganni!”
Elara didn’t seem to hear her. Her face twisted into a manic grin. “Scare him? He doesn’t matter! None of it matters if I can’t have Gio! I’ve loved him longer… I’ve fought harder… I’ve suffered for him!”
Her voice rose, shaking with desperation. “You think you can just walk in here, sit beside him, laugh with him, and think I’ll let it happen? NO! I will make sure you regret this! I will make sure you wish you never came back!”
Raven’s face went pale, but she stood her ground. “Elara… listen to me. You’re not thinking clearly. You’re putting everyone at risk, including Ganni. Stop this before it goes too far.”
Elara laughed, a high, frantic sound that made Raven shiver. “Too far? Oh, Raven… you have no idea how far I’m willing to go. Giovanni is mine. And no one.. no one.. will ever take him from me!”
“… Ganni, come to aunty!” she screamed, voice wild. Her eyes darted between Raven and the little boy. “I was your mom first! How dare you leave me for her! You traitor!”
Before Raven could react, Elara lunged toward Ganni, trying to grab him. The boy shrieked, pulling back.
Raven moved fast, stepping in front of him. “No! Stay away from him!”
Elara’s hands shook violently. She grabbed a nearby bottle, smashing it against the floor. Glass shards flew everywhere. Taking the broken glass and cutting her hand. She hissed through clenched teeth, blood dripping down her skin.
“Stop! Elara!” Raven shouted, lunging to hold her back.
Elara struggled, thrashing, wild with desperation. In the chaos, a sharp pain tore through Raven’s side… a knife had sunk in. She gasped, stumbling back, clutching the wound.
“Mummy!” Ganni cried, tears streaming down his face. He tried to run forward, but Raven held him back.
Elara’s face twisted with fury and obsession, blood from her own arm smearing across her clothes. “I won’t let you have him!” she screamed, eyes blazing.
Raven steadied herself, breathing hard, trying to keep Ganni safe. She knew she had to act fast before Elara did more damage… to herself or anyone else.
Elara’s grip on Ganni was tight, almost crushing. He screamed and kicked, his little voice echoing through the mansion.
“Mummy! Mummy! Help!” he shouted, tears streaming down his face.
Raven lay on the ground, clutching her side where Elara had stabbed her. Blood trickled down, her strength nearly gone. She crawled toward them, her voice weak but urgent.
“Please… stop, Elara! Don’t take him!” she begged, shaking her head.
But Elara didn’t listen. Her face was twisted with fury and obsession. She dragged Ganni toward the door, his small feet scraping the floor.
“I raised you.. You ungrateful child.” Elara screamed
Raven tried to push herself up, wincing in pain. “Stop! Please… he's just a child!”
Ganni’s sobs grew louder, each one cutting through the room like a knife. He kicked and screamed, “Mummy! Mummy!”
Elara paused for a moment, holding Ganni tightly. Her hands trembled, but her eyes burned with rage. She pulled out her phone, snapping a quick picture of him. Ganni’s wide, frightened eyes stared into the camera, his little hands reaching for Raven, who was still on the floor behind them.
Elara typed a message fast and sent it to Giovanni.
“I’m going to destroy everything dear to you… " This is all your fault,” the text read.
She slipped the phone back into her pocket and glanced at Ganni. He whimpered softly, burying his face against her chest.
Raven’s voice was barely a whisper, full of pain and desperation. “Elara… please… don’t…”
Elara ignored her, dragging Ganni toward the car. The night air hit them as she yanked the doors open, throwing him into the back seat. His small arms flailed.
“Stop! Mummy! Mummy!” he screamed.
Inside, Raven tried to crawl toward them, but her strength failed her. Blood dripped down her side, staining the floor. Her eyes burned with fear and anger.
Elara slammed the door shut and started the engine, the car roaring to life.
She looked down at her phone one last time, reading Giovanni’s name on the screen.
“Soon, Gio… you’ll see what losing everything feels like,” she whispered, her lips curling into a cruel, twisted smile.
