Darius’ p.o.v
I felty my hand go sweaty at the letter, my visiom going blur as i looked at the thing in front of me.
“who sent it” i growled, looking at the man that looked like he would rather be anywhere than here right now.
“I… I..”
“I said..” i started, marching up to him “who. The. Fuck. Sent. This.”
“i don’t…. i…” he gulped, shaking his head, trying to tell me that he did not know, but i could not, for the life of me care.
“ANSWER ME!!!!” i screamed, shaving him violently that i was honestly wondering how the hell his head had not fallen off by now.
He looked at me for a while, fear radiating off of him, practically covering him up before he even get a word out again, he passed out in my hands.
“Useless!!” i muttered, shoving him away.
I paced the room, taking up the paper to look at it again. “this has to be some sick joke” i muttered. I tried to calm down, making sure that i took in deep breaths.
I needed my senses to function and heightened emotions were going to dim my mind so i calmed down.
When i felt calm enough, i brought the paper to my nose, trying to track down the scent.
I was not hoping to get anything, nothing at all.
Most people could go the far mile to hide their scent just so they would not be seen. But i needed to do this to get it off my chest.
Half way through the paper reaching my chest and i pulled it back. The smell was sickening. it was almost as though wanted me to find them.
It filled up the room now that i had taken in a bit of the scent.
I stood still, my brain registering but still refusing to believe what it already knew. “this is from Valarrak. “ i said more to myself. I looked at the paper on more time before i dropped it carefully.
I turned, my gaze fixed on the window as i fought harder to control my dragon.
I moved as quick as my legs could carry me, rushing to the window. I broke it open as opening it normally would have been impossible at this time.
My wings were already out, so were my talons. It felt as though i was a totally different being at this time.
As the window glass shattered against my skin, i felt my clothes rip open, making it feel as though i could breathe finally.
A roar escaped my lips before i could catch it, not that i wanted to. I looked at the forest for a moment ‘what if he is here, hiding, watching my next move?’ the thought for some reason did not leave my mind, no matter how hard i tried to shrug it off. No matter how much i tried to tell myself that he would not dare to come close to me.
It was impossible, the itch to ruin him in case he was there hit me before i could even think straight. I opened my mouth, letting my dragon’s breath run wild as the flames destroyed every tree in sight. I landed, looking at the view in front of me. It was not something i had expected to see.
“beautiful” i thought in my head, letting my guard down.
I felt my ears pick up as sounds came from one side.
I shifted back,, trying to hide in the burning chaos. “who is there” i said, taking a step towards the ruffle.
It came again, making my mind become even sharper “you better come out now while i am still patient, or else…” a twig snapped, making my ears perk further then a rabbit ran out, i felt my shoulders go lax for the briefest of seconds before it tensed back.
“I heard you were not looking for me?” i turned sharply, standing face to face with the man that dared to challange me.
I felt my eyes widen. He had on a shield. It was the one shield that no one could make with spells except one person.
Azenith.
“why don’t you come out of the shell and i would tell you just how much i was looking for me?” i said, trying to stand my ground but the effect of the shield was starting to push me back, and fighting against it was starting to burn.
“I am not as stupid as i look you know.” he said, a smirk on his face. He looked… different. Far more different than i would care to admit. I bit my lips further, trying to contain myself. One wrong move and i would practically turn into ashes.
“oh…” i said, feigning a look of surprise, “trust me, there is no mistake about that.” i smiled, looking at him straight in the eye. “i got your message, i am assuming you did not bring me out here to chit chat?” he stook a step back, sitting down on a stomp of tree
“oh…” he cocked his head to the side. “but what if i did?” that smile that had irritated me for years danced across his lips, making me want to slide across the field and give him a slap across his cheeks.
“very well then” i said, trying to act all relaxed when i was actually dying on the inside.
“Azenith said she would not hesitate to skin you alive if she does not get her daughter at sunrise.” he said, finally making me turn serious.
“Oh, i did not realise that you were nothing but the mouth piece. Somethings never change… isn’t that funny? No matter which side you choose, you are always just going to be a serving boy” i watched as he face contorted in rage, making him rush towards me.
I smiled. The number one rule of that suit was to never not keep your emotions in check.
As he screamed, rushing towards me like his life was going to end, i watched as his face changed from rage to pure pain.
The shield was killing him from the inside out, making it lose its effect and no longer as dangerous.
“you should listen to instructions before taking something, you know?” i said, no doubt with a smirk on my face…
