Hillary's POV
He smiled, surprised to see me. Oh boy. Don't tell this dude now stays around here.
“Hey. Whatsup?” He smiles. “What are you doing here in Bat city?”
“Well, I'm…..” you must not let him know you've relocated here. I told myself.
“I'm here to visit a friend.” I made it clear and he continued to stare at me. It was now awkward that we were silent.
“How have you been?” He asked and I rolled my trolley, hoping he would leave. I know he'll be so eager to speak with me right now.
“Good.” I searched through the counter, holding a strawberry flavour bottle in my hands.
“So, what's up with your shopping.?”
“Baking a cake for a friend.” I dropped it back, narrowing my eyes for another type.
“Can I come?”
I turned to give him a killer glare. Jason would always be a pest. I know it.
“Uh, no. You can't. What would my friend say?”
He laughs, rubbing the nape of the neck. “Just kidding. Well, if I may….” He pulled the handle of the trolley and I struggled to get it back..
“No, it's fine. Don't help me. I'm in a rush.”
“Then let's be in a rush together.” He winked. Feeling like some freaking bad boy winning a girl's heart. I frowned deep inside my heart while he was doing more than I wanted. I just want him to stop pleasing me. Maybe the only way to avoid it would be letting him have his way. I sighed and handed him the list I drafted out for my cake items.
He moved to the pastry counter and I followed.
“So, what are you doing here?”
“I have a house here.” He stopped to grab flour.
It better not be anywhere close to my area.
“Oh, really? Where? And why do you have houses at different locations?”
Travis did though.
“For some reasons. I'm here because I have a job to do and I live in an apartment. The Veridian, 300 sector.”
Huh? What the actual fuck? Isn't that…..my apartment address and street.
My mind was beating with nervousness and anger and sorrow.
“Could….. could you repeat what you just said?” I asked.
The trolley was now filled with everything I wanted.
“Uh, The Veridian.. what's wrong?”
Shit. The same apartment as mine. Oh my gosh. Why does he have to be there? My face turned moody and he waved his hands.
“Hello?”
I snapped away from my thoughts.
“Thank you for helping me. You can leave me alone now." I rolled the trolley and went to the checkout counter to pay. The cashier rummage through my items and the moment I gave her my debit card, Jason stopped her.
“Wait. Let me pay. Instead.”
“Oh, no. It's fine. I wouldn't want you to do that.” I faked a smile but he was adamant and the cashier was confused on who's card to take. Her instincts told her to take the man's instead and she did.
I sighed, waiting for my goods to be packaged, and when they were, I walked out hurriedly like Jason was never there. I never asked him to help with the bill. He just did.
“Hey. Wait up.” He scuttled towards me and the breeze blew my hair. “Let me drop you off, okay?”
“Thank you for your kind gesture but I'm fine.”
“Where do you even stay?”
“Somewhere.” I hid the truth from him. Just imagine, I still can't believe that he was staying in the same apartment as me. What if he sees me one day or even today? Travis won't like this.
“Come on. Don't act like this, Hillary.” He started touching my arms and I stepped away. “We can hang out or something.”
“No, thank you. I need to go home.”
“Wait.” He pulled me and my hair flapping into my eyes couldn't allow me free myself from his touch.
“Stop, touching me.” I groaned and pushed him away but he continued and he pushed me to the edge.
“I'm getting married okay? Don't force me to go out with you.”
My chest heaved as I let it all out. Damn, stupid me. That was supposed to be a secret. I just spilled it out.
“What? To whom?”
“Uh, it's nothing. Bye.” I distanced myself away from him, running. “Bye.” I said loudly leaving him there.
That asshole. He's got guts. I stopped my cab and went back to my apartment. Stealing glances around. So, Jason is here too? I would never know exactly. I rushed into my room and locked my door. Ain't no way I'd ever come out again. Instead, I'll let Travis hire a messenger to run errands for me. I head to the kitchen, ready to start my job. Travis would come in the evening. So I have enough time to bake the cake and prepare. The ingredients were set on the kitchen counter as I unloaded them from the pack. Flour, sugar, cocoa powder and the likes.
I was very happy and my smile was plastered on my face like that was how I was created. This was for my baby and he had no idea. Surprise, surprise. I wore a hair bonnet and turned on the music. Despite the storm I was facing with his father, I needed an escape of reality.
After mixing the flour, I sifted the cocoa powder and whisked eggs and sugar smoothly. I loved the scent of butter filling the air. The batter was ready to be placed in the oven and I started with the ganache recipe. The cream was simmering on the pan and I chopped dark chocolate. Pouring the hot cream over it, my thoughts were replaced with dirty thoughts.
I was thinking of Travis's cum on my nipple and his tongue always ready to suck my slime.
I blushed hard but focused. Now that the cake was baked, I assembled the layers and coated the cake with the ganache.
“Yay!” I jumped happily. The time was 4 in the evening already and Travis called, letting me know he's done with work. I urged him to freshen up and come over.
“I'll be at your door soon. I love you.”
“Be expecting you anytime.” I giggled and cut the call. Arranged the number “29. “ With a birthday candle number. Yes, my Baby is 29 now.
The vanilla almond milk shake was ready too. Just on the table in the kitchen. I rushed to the bathroom to have my bath and wore sexy lingerie. Let my hair down and smell nice. The door bell rang.
“I'm coming.” I giggled and hurried to the door, already thinking of the most romantic way to welcome Travis.
“Heyyy, I—”
My smile faded the moment another person who wasn't Travis was at the door.
“Hello, Hillary.”
I gasped, fear coursing in. I tried to shut the door but he held it firmly.
