Unbearable
Hillary's POV

The overall look of my new space was very beautiful. I smiled, taking a look at the furnishing and painting which matches the interiors. This excitement consumed the ache I was feeling. I didn't want to think about it anymore. Besides, I was just waking up from sleep. I slept without Travis and all through the night, we did video calls and all. I get up from bed..the floor to ceiling windows welcomed the sunlight. I looked through the window and awed at the breathtaking view. I loved this quiet and calm side of Manhattan. I rushed to the bathroom to have my bath because today is going to be a very long day. I admired the walls, dove gray with white marble tiles, also the sleek vanity and tub. It was luxurious.
After washing my body, I put on my clothes. A shirt and trouser. Today was a campaign day and not office work. While I was done, grabbing the necessary stuff, I rushed outside and took a taxi to the office.
It was now awkward that I won't be coming the usual way with Travis. It felt like I had started life all over again. Some department teams were outside. Everyone in the same shirt. I was about to go in when Travis stepped out. I almost ran to hug him but when I realized we were in the public, I held myself.

He approached me with a smile.
Don't blush back, Hillary. People are outside. Keep it cool and professional.

“Hello, Personal Assistant” His hands were shoved inside his pockets.

“Hi, Boss.” I responded.

“You are….ten minutes late.” He waited for an explanation after checking his watch.

“I'm sorry, I was too impressed by my new space and couldn't get my eyes off of it.” I smiled..

“I want to see you in my office now. You're getting queried.” He turns to leave and I follow behind.

My back was pressed to the wall as Travis kissed me possessively. We both were breathless and I moaned into his mouth.

“We ought to go now, someone might be looking for us now.”

“I'm not done with you.” His voice was low and tough. Cupping my boobs, he pressed them hard and I felt his hardness on my body.

My body shuddered when he kissed me on my neck and face. He claimed my lips once more, deepened our kiss again. I wanted this too but the fact that both of us weren't outside made me nervous.

“Alright, that's enough.” I pulled his face away.

“I miss you…so much.” He grabbed my waist. “Waking up without you is sick, you know that.”

“I miss you too.”

“Don't worry, after work, I'm sleeping in your new apartment today, okay?”

“Okay.” I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck and giving him one last kiss.

“Go.” He smacked my ass and I ran out of the office.

The city buzzed around us, stepping out from our bus into the community launch. It was a campaign initiative Travis sponsored to support local female entrepreneurship. Elena was also here. I noticed it when the press interviewed her. Her members of Sinclair Events also ushered in. I couldn't hide the jealousy I felt when Travis was summoned in, to take pictures with her. It was bad. I wasn't against it because it was the norm. But I started feeling so angry. I watched from my booth.

“They really make a good couple.”

I turned to see Eleanor. “What do you mean?”

She dropped the carton of goods on the floor, stretching out. “Them, of course. You can see. She's beautiful and he's handsome.”
How dare you talk about my boyfriend like that..the nerves.

“No. They don't fit together in any way.” I protested.

“What do you mean by that?” She laughs unbelievable. “ Everyone knows they're both good together.”

“Why don't you go back to work.” I fold my hands, “Do your own job.”

She muttered some words before leaving and I thought about what she said. Did they really fit? My blood was boiling and I kept on watching how she smiled for the camera, with Travis beside her. They took group pictures with some females there.

“Oh, whatever.” I rolled my eyes and turned back, heading to the bus to get something but when I approached the bus, my heart jumped and I breathed shakily when I saw Travis' father. Who the hell invited this man here?

I turned to my back to pretend I didn't see him because I didn't want any more drama.

“Not another step, darling.” He warned.

“How are you here? Why…..are you here.” I asked, confused.

“That's none of your business.” He replied, sharply.

“Why can't you leave me alone. I did what you wanted.”

“You're delusional.” He spat.

“ I have to go back to work.” I said confidently just to stand my ground. “Leave me alone or I'll be forced to have security walk you out and attract press.” That word just randomly slipped. I couldn't un-say it now.

He laughed. “That would make you foolish.”

His insult pierced.

“You want to embarrass me in front of my son and his reputation. No, you're the one who'd get embarrassed. The CEO and his assistant are sleeping with each other. How's that sound.”

I gulped. He was somehow right.

“Do you want me to tell the press?”

“No.” My voice was low. I was defeated again and he was kinda right. When we were traveling to London, this same thing happened with Media questioning. What if they notice me again. And why did no one in the office notice it? I couldn't help but feel tense. What If they knew.

“Very good. We have a lot to talk about.”

I groaned. “What do you mean?”

“Why are you here? Why did you come?”

“I don't understand. This is my job.”

“You didn't remember last night? The thing I said to you. That was a reminder about our main deal. I told you to quit your job. It's one important way to stay away from my son..”

Oh shit. Not again.
