His father wants me Dead

His father wants me Dead
Hillary's POV

How do I explain to this man that I can't do such a thing? It's too much for me to carry. I can't anymore. .
“You don't have to do this.” I begged

“Nonsense!” He eyes me. “ I remembered clearly, I told you, that day, in the restaurant, that you should be far away from him. Go to another state. Avoid him. If possible, another country. And distancing yourself, including quitting your job.”

I tried my best to keep my tears but my emotions controlled me and I couldn't hide it.

“Please, you don't have to do this. This job means everything to me.”

“I don't care…. And why don't you see huh? He shot his hands to the crowd. “Can't you see my son?”

I stare at Travis while he smiles at the camera, still going through the media.

“He looks so happy without you. So free, so better.”

All he was saying kept on getting in my head. It was painful to hear such. I'm just a girl in love but it's threatening and scary. I had never planned for all this.

“Elena Sinclair is the perfect daughter. Daughter of somebody. You ... .are the daughter of nobody.”

I sealed my lips, bitterly taking his insults. I was still contemplating if I should tell Travis about the encounters with his father and all the accumulated threats. But, I didn't want to risk it.

“You still don't want to stay away huh? Don't worry. Until I focus on you, you're going to learn the hard way.”

I cleaned my tears and sniffed. “What do you mean by that?”

“While I have my lawyers work on your Dad's case, I might start some dangerous Games with you that'll cost you your life.”

“That's not fair. I don't deserve this.”

He ignored me. “ Well, you told me you have a new place where you live. You think that's enough reason to leave Travis? I'm not stupid.”

“You're crazy.” I covered my mouth, my chest heaving.

“That's why Travis hates me.” He hysterically laughed and If eyes could kill, he would have slumped and died right on the spot.

“Well, that's all for today, but one thing you should have in mind…” he stops closer. “I would find your location if you don't leave there and relocate to another state.”
His warning lingered in my head, repeating itself after he left. I climbed into the Empty bus and cried my eyes out. My hands placed on my chest as I lamented. I don't want to leave Travis. I love him too much. This burden is just too much. The easier I think I've escaped him, the harder he comes around again. Like he was following me. I'm i even safe living alone? Did I make a mistake? Wasn't I safer in Travis's mansion?
I wiped all the thoughts from my head. Calming myself down, cleaning my tears, well just trying to act cool because I would resume work when I step down from the bus. No one has to know what I'm going through. No one.
Taking countless breaths, I finally summoned the courage to walk outside, hiding my weakness.
A lot of questions swirled through my head. Would the wedding go through? Is it even possible? Travis might be saying the truth if he meant us getting married would change his Dad's mind. But.. There were so many buts stopping me to think. Does this mean Travis and I were never meant to be with each other? We aren't compatible because ... .the world seems to be against us. First, it was Victoria. Now it's his Dad, doing everything he can to set us apart and I was the fucking bait. Anything that would happen, the consequences would fall on me. Emphasis on this. I don't want my Dad leaving prison. I've had enough while he was with me.

I placed my hands over my forehead. It was like the crowd in front of me was blurred out. I couldn't think straight and I wasn't doing my role. I was distracted. My eyes fell on Elena. She was beautiful and had a very sexy shape. I didn't have that. It could still be another reason for Travis to leave me.
No. I'm probably thinking too much.
But, she was beautiful and catchy. Everything about her screamed perfection. I watched as she tugged her hair behind her ears and whispered something in his ear. Travis laughed.

He looks so happy without you, so free.

Now, those painful words swung by again. I couldn't get it off my head. If at the end of the day, Travis ends up without me, I would know it isn't his fault. I must have tried my best to stay away.

This is really the woman he wants. The woman who's better. Who's somebody and not a nobody. With all my joy robbed off, I turned back, hoping to find somewhere to sit and be alone. I just wanted to step away, needed a break, a breather from the campaign. I walked far and further. My phone rings, unknown, and I picked the call.

“Hello?”

“Hello, Hillary, How would you like to die?”

My heart raced. “Who's this?”

“You don't recognize my voice anymore?”

Travis Dad. It was him. I was so angry I wanted to curse him. How could he call me and tell me this?

“Leave me alone okay?” I said, shakily. “ You haven't answered my question. So I'll just do it my way.”

I heard the roaring sound of a car and turned with my instincts. A car sped towards me, nearly grazing me and it took the grace of luck that I pushed past it by just a few inches. I fell hard on the ground, my heart pounding. I was so scared, I thought I would be run over by that car. I winced in pain, my body slammed on the ground as I fell uncomfortably.
The voice returned on the phone again.

“That was just a warning. Stay away from Travis.”
