Chapter 58 Confront
Eli's POV:
As soon as I arrived at the Nelson family estate, Delilah came running over.
She asked me happily, "Why did you come so suddenly? You didn't even tell me! Have you changed your mind? You're not calling off our engagement anymore!"
She reached out to link arms with me while complaining, "You caught me off guard. I didn't prepare or put on makeup. I must look terrible now!"
I pulled my hand back without mercy, not letting her hold onto me.
"We're calling off the engagement today! Where's Don Nelson? I need to see him about something."
Finally, I could end this engagement today!
When Delilah heard I wanted to call off the engagement, she went crazy again. She threw herself at me, clawing and scratching, even biting my neck.
"I'll bite you to death! Just die! When you're dead, you'll belong completely to me!"
I threw her off directly. "You crazy woman! No matter how much you make a scene, it's useless! We have to call off this engagement!"
I went straight upstairs. Don Nelson should be in his study upstairs.
Delilah angrily chased after me, shouting and screaming. She was really annoying!
"I'll tell Don Martinez! You better not come crying to me then! Eli! Stop!"
I couldn't be bothered with her anymore and kicked open the study door.
Delilah was scared out of her mind. She covered her ears and screamed loudly.
Don Nelson sat behind his desk, looking at me with displeasure. "Are you insane?! How dare you be so rude!"
Delilah snapped back to reality and ran into Don Nelson's arms. "Daddy! Eli's gone crazy for some reason. He's not only being mean to me but also saying he wants to break our engagement!"
Don Nelson quickly patted her back. "Don't worry. Daddy will definitely teach him a lesson! No one can make our Nelson family princess sad!"
Did he really think I was some fool for him to manipulate? I stared at the father and daughter mockingly.
Don Nelson looked at me with a stern face. "When exactly are you paying for the goods? I already let you take the cargo based on Delilah's sake, and you dare treat her like this! You're asking for death!"
But I wasn't afraid at all. If I were scared of him, I wouldn't have come!
I looked at him with a cold smile. "Where exactly did this batch of weapons come from?"
A flash of unnaturalness quickly crossed Don Nelson's face.
He touched his nose. "Our sources are Nelson family secrets. Eli, even though you're my future son-in-law, you can't pry into our family affairs."
"Is that so?" I slowly walked to the desk, my face full of mockery. "How about I tell you? This batch of weapons was given to you by Christian, right? And his batch was switched from mine."
Don Nelson, the old fox, deliberately acted like he suddenly understood.
"So that's how this cargo came about?" He slammed the table hard. "That bastard! When he came to me saying he had goods to sell, I thought since our families had been cooperating, I agreed. I was just doing normal business."
His angry expression seemed completely genuine. If someone didn't know better, they might really be fooled by him.
I smiled and unbuttoned two buttons of my shirt, pulling out my silver pistol and running my fingers over it.
Delilah immediately looked up to defend her father. "Right! My daddy definitely didn't know anything! Eli, you're my fiancé. How could he possibly help outsiders bully you?"
Probably only this idiot would believe that the marriage contract between our families really meant everything was peaceful.
Don Nelson immediately nodded in agreement.
"Since that's how things are, I'll give you a 20% discount on the payment. That way you'll lose a bit less."
Delilah immediately hugged Don Nelson's arm joyfully. "Thank you, Daddy!"
She even turned to look at me disapprovingly. "My daddy made such a big concession for you. Aren't you going to thank him?"
I smiled and without hesitation raised my hand, shooting Don Nelson in the arm.
Delilah let out an unbelieving scream. "What are you trying to do?!"
Don Nelson immediately pressed the room's alarm and backed away, clutching his arm.
"Why are you doing this to my daddy?! If he hadn't helped you, you would have been sent to South Africa long ago!" Delilah frantically reached out to cover Don Nelson's wound, speaking to me through tears.
I coldly threw my phone on the desk. "If it weren't for your daddy, my cargo wouldn't have been switched. This so-called help was helping Christian screw me over, wasn't it?"
"Don't talk nonsense!" Don Nelson desperately denied it.
I curved my lips and played the video.
This was a video Walker sent me, recorded during the interrogation of the traitor. In the video, the man tremblingly admitted that Don Nelson and Christian had worked together to buy him off, and that once I fell, they would take over all my forces.
Delilah looked at her father in shock. "Daddy! Why did you do this?"
Seeing the evidence right in front of him, Don Nelson stopped pretending. He suddenly looked up at me.
"You don't like Delilah at all. Someone as cold-blooded and ruthless as you, even if we continued cooperating, the Nelson family wouldn't have a good ending. Rather than that, it's better to get rid of you early."
"You cooperated with Christian and betrayed me. I won't let the Nelson family live peacefully either."
"But what can you do? How many people do you have?" Don Nelson remained arrogant.
I looked at him without speaking. My pistol spun in my hand. I stared at Don Nelson's forehead, thinking about whether I should put a bullet there.
Seeing me stay silent, Don Nelson thought I was scared. His tone softened.
"Let's each take a step back. Let's forget about this. I won't charge you for this batch of goods..."
Before he could finish, I blew his head off with one shot.
