Chapter 64 Kind Advice

After hanging up, Amelia didn't waste any time. She immediately called Lily's agent, Elijah.

When he picked up, she cut to the chase. "What's Lily's address and what's going on with her?"

Elijah let out a heavy sigh. "Lily's been holed up in her house for days. She won't eat or sleep, just drinking and smashing things. She won't listen to anyone."

Amelia listened, then said, "I'm coming over." After that, she hung up, grabbed her coat, and headed out the door.

Half an hour later, she arrived at Lily's upscale apartment complex.

Elijah was already waiting at the entrance, looking sharp in a suit, but the exhaustion in his eyes was clear.

As soon as he saw Amelia, he rushed over, wringing his hands. "Ms. Martinez, thank God you're here. Lily... she didn't mean what she said. She's just confused. Please, give her another chance. She's only in her early twenties. If the Phillips Group blacklists her, her career is done for."

Amelia didn't slow down, striding over the cobblestone path in her high heels, her tone calm but firm. "Her situation is her own doing. Adults have to face the consequences of their actions." She brushed past Elijah and headed for the building. "Take me to her first. We'll talk about the rest later."

Elijah quickly pulled out his keys and opened the door.

As soon as it swung open, a strong smell of alcohol mixed with perfume hit them, stinging their noses.

The living room was a disaster.

Shattered crystal glasses littered the floor, with pools of liquor forming small puddles. An art piece that had been hanging on the wall was now thrown onto the couch, its frame cracked. Clothes, bags, and makeup were scattered everywhere, and even the vase on the coffee table was knocked over, with rose petals floating lifelessly in the water.

Lily was curled up in the corner of the couch, wrapped in a large velvet robe, her hair a mess, covering most of her face. Her exposed ankles were stained with alcohol and glass shards, but she seemed oblivious.

Hearing the door open, she jerked her head up, her eyes bloodshot, with smudged eyeliner forming dark circles and lipstick smeared down to her chin. She looked gaunt, her cheekbones protruding, appearing both haggard and pitiful.

The moment she saw Amelia, Lily's gaze turned venomous, like a cornered cat.

She grabbed a pillow and hurled it at Amelia, her voice hoarse and raw. "Get out! Who let you in? Are you here to mock me? Or are you trying to clear your own bad reputation by begging me for help? Amelia, I'm telling you, it's not happening!"

Amelia sidestepped the pillow, which hit the wall and fell to the floor.

She walked over to the armchair opposite the couch and sat down, her posture composed, her gaze fixed on Lily without a hint of sympathy. "It's too early to say who will be begging." She tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, her tone steady. "People outside may not know my relationship with Henry, but you do. From the day you joined the Phillips Group, you should have known that I was by his side. I've always turned a blind eye to you because you were his childhood friend. I didn't stop you from riding on his coattails; I covered for you when you threw tantrums on set. When you tried to make people think you are special to Henry, I never said anything. Did our low profile make you think you had a chance? Or did my leniency make you think you could bully me, even daring to say you were seducing Henry?"

Each word hit Lily like a hammer.

She opened her mouth to retort but found herself at a loss for words.

Amelia's statements were all true. Lily had always known Henry felt differently about Amelia, but had deceived herself into thinking Amelia was just Henry's secretary, believing that if she held on a little longer, she could reclaim her place.

Elijah, standing by, was too scared to breathe, his palms sweaty, his shirt soaked through.

He had followed Lily for so long, never realizing Amelia and Henry's relationship was so special, explaining Henry's consistently indifferent attitude towards Lily.

The room fell into a dead silence, broken only by Lily's heavy breathing and the occasional sound of car horns from outside.

Amelia broke the silence, pulling out her phone and showing Lily her recent Twitter posts. "Delete these inappropriate comments, and I can help you manage this PR crisis. I'll get some media outlets to clear things up for you, minimizing the impact. You have one day to think it over. If you decide, have Elijah contact me."

With that, she stood up to leave.

Lily suddenly scrambled off the couch, stumbling to Amelia and grabbing her wrist tightly, her nails nearly digging into her skin. "You're lying! You're definitely lying! You and he aren't serious. Have him call me. I need to hear it from him, or I won't believe it!"

Amelia looked at her stubborn expression and sighed helplessly.

She freed her wrist from Lily's grip, pulled out her phone, and, in front of both Lily and Elijah, dialed Henry's number.

The phone rang twice before it was answered, a warm male voice coming through, affectionate and slightly sleepy. "Hey, babe, missing me already?"

Lily and Elijah froze, as if turned to stone.

Lily's eyes widened, her lips trembling, clearly unable to believe what she was hearing.

Amelia ignored their reactions and spoke softly into the phone, "Nothing major, just letting you know I'll be home soon. By the way, the artist's file you asked for is in the second drawer of the study. Don't forget to check it."

"Got it," Henry's voice remained gentle, with a hint of playful teasing. "But babe, did you forget something? You promised to make me pasta tonight. Don't back out."

Amelia's ears turned slightly red, and she glanced at Lily before replying into the phone, "I didn't forget. I'll make it when I get home. Traffic's a bit heavy, so I'll hang up now. See you soon."

"Okay," Henry's voice was full of laughter. "Drive safely. If it's too late, call me, and I'll send a driver."

Amelia responded with a quick "No need" and hung up.

She looked at Lily, who was now slumped on the floor, her eyes vacant, and asked calmly, "Is that enough proof?"

Lily was silent for a moment before suddenly looking up, her eyes filled with bitterness and madness. "Do you really love him? You can't possibly love him! You're just after his money, his status!"
