Chapter 63 Explanation of Relationships

Chapter 63 Explanation of Relationships

Aurelia, worried she might say something wrong, quickly stepped forward and covered her mouth, shaking her head to signal her to stop asking questions.

Amelia watched the scene unfold, realizing their relationship was probably no longer a secret.

She pushed Henry's hand away, stood up, and walked towards the door, her voice cold as ice. "Come outside, I need to talk to you."

Henry didn't argue and followed her out to the lawn in front of the villa.

The evening breeze carried a chill as Amelia turned to face him, her eyes full of questions: "What are you trying to do? Do you realize how easily we could have been discovered just now? Do you know what would happen if everyone found out about us?"

"Let them find out," Henry said nonchalantly, his hands in his pockets, his tone a bit obsessive. "It saves me the trouble of setting things up."

Amelia laughed in exasperation: "Henry, can you be serious? Revealing our relationship now benefits no one!"

"Is that so?" Henry didn't argue further, instead pulling out his phone to send a message to Aiden.

Emma, who had just come out of the living room, saw Henry lounging on the sofa as if nothing had happened and couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Phillips, are you and Ms. Martinez pretending to be a couple?"

Henry glanced at her, his tone slightly disdainful: "Pretending? Is that necessary?"

"Then just now..." Emma still didn't understand, pointing to the scene where they had been embracing.

"Just exercising my rights as a husband," Henry said matter-of-factly, his voice carrying clearly through the living room. "I'm married."

Emma's eyes widened in shock, and before she could voice her surprise, Henry wrapped an arm around Amelia's shoulders and introduced her to the guests who had gathered, "Let me formally introduce you all—Amelia, my wife."

Amelia looked around at the stunned faces, then at Henry's calm profile, and couldn't help but raise her voice, a bit frantic: "Henry!"

Emma stood there, mouth agape, her finger still pointing mid-air, her eyes full of disbelief.

Even some of the production crew, who were unaware of the truth, stood frozen in place, their cameras still rolling, having forgotten to turn them off.

Everyone present was taken aback, none of them expecting this low-budget dating show to feature both Henry and his wife. Was this some kind of couple's game?

Or was it a deliberate move to boost the show's ratings by using their marriage as a topic?

Regardless of the reason, the scene before them was beyond anyone's expectations, leaving them at a loss for words.

After the initial shock, a hint of disappointment flashed in Emma's eyes. She had come to the show with a bit of a crush on Henry, and now, learning that he was already married, felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her. Her enthusiasm for participating in the show waned significantly, as she felt her previous feelings had been somewhat overreaching.

Aurelia was the first to break the awkward silence, smiling to ease the tension: "Mr. Phillips, Ms. Martinez, you two really make a great couple."

Emma quickly echoed the sentiment, though her tone was a bit stiff, her cheeks still flushed, and she couldn't bring herself to look Henry in the eye. The others followed suit, complimenting the couple, and soon found excuses to leave the room, giving Amelia and Henry some space.

On the lawn, only Amelia and Henry remained. The evening breeze rustled the grass, and Henry, noticing Amelia's tense expression, felt a bit uneasy. He tentatively spoke, "That was... a bit sudden, huh?"

Amelia didn't look at him, heading straight back to the villa. "I'm going back to my room."

Henry quickly followed, slipping in just before she closed the door. Under the warm yellow light of the room, Amelia turned to him, her face cold as ice. "Henry, do you think this is fun?"

Her anger was unmistakable, and Henry finally dropped his nonchalant attitude, his tone softening. "I just wanted to share with everyone."

"Share?" Amelia raised an eyebrow, her tone mocking. "Why not share our marriage certificate too? Wouldn't that be more convincing?"

Henry, surprisingly, followed her lead. "You're right, I didn't think of that. Next time, maybe..."

"Henry!" Amelia interrupted him, her tone serious. "I don't have time for these public privacy games. We agreed to work together, which is our main focus. Now that you've exposed our marriage to the artists, have you thought about the consequences?"

Henry's voice lowered, carrying a hint of unnoticeable grievance, as he softly called out, "Honey."

"Don't call me that." Amelia turned away. "Do you understand what it means to tell these artists about our relationship?"

Just as Amelia had predicted, the police investigation into Ralph and Aurelia's situation cleared their names completely.

The report clearly stated that Cecilia had admitted to spreading false rumors, with a signed statement as evidence. Public opinion quickly shifted, and those who had previously criticized them now apologized, with hashtags like #RalphAureliaInnocent and #CeciliaOutOfShowbiz trending. The attention on "Heart's Journey" surged, and the production team released previously recorded interactions between the two, inadvertently boosting the show's popularity.

On the other hand, the controversy surrounding Henry and Amelia only intensified.

Lily seemed determined to go after Amelia, posting negative information about her on Twitter daily, though none of it was backed by evidence.

First, Lily posted a blurry screenshot of a chat, claiming Amelia used Henry to suppress competitors, but the screenshot was too unclear to make out any details. Then she shared old photos of herself with Henry, captioning them with [Some people are just passing through,] implying she was the one Henry truly liked.

Despite the obvious attempt at stirring up drama, it attracted a crowd of uninformed viewers, and Amelia's Twitter was flooded with hateful comments. Her private messages were filled with malicious content, and even old photos of her from the orphanage were dug up, mocking her for using a man to climb the social ladder.

Her assistant, Dahlia, called in a hurry, her voice full of anxiety. "Ms. Martinez, Lily just posted on Twitter again! This time, she tagged several marketing accounts, saying you're using your marriage as a stepping stone. Some brands are already asking if it's true. Should we have the PR team handle it?"

"No need." Amelia sat on the sofa, her fingers scrolling through Lily's Twitter posts, her tone calm and unruffled. "She's cutting off her own path. Baseless accusations will only backfire the more she stirs things up. The company doesn't need to get involved; I'll handle this myself."
