CHAPTER 21. Accomplished
A loud crash echoed through the castle corridors, causing Mykel and Amaya to jump up from their seats and rush towards the source of the commotion. It was coming from the kitchen, and as they made their way there, they could hear the sounds of shattering glass and frantic movements.
"What on earth is happening?" Mykel exclaimed, his heart pounding with anxiety. Amaya's mind raced as she thought about the possible reasons for the disturbance. Had Kitara gotten into a fight with the kitchen workers? Had something gone terribly wrong with their plan?
As they entered the kitchen, they were met with a chaotic scene. Broken glass littered the floor, and the workers were in a frenzy, rushing around and shouting at each other.
"Is Kitara here?" Amaya asked, trying to keep her voice steady despite her growing unease.
One of the workers turned to her, looking flustered. "Yes, she's over there," he pointed to a corner of the kitchen where Kitara was sitting on the floor, her head in her hands.
"What happened here?" Mykel demanded, his voice sharp with concern.
The worker explained that Kitara had accidentally knocked over a shelf of glassware while trying to retrieve an ingredient, and it had shattered all over the floor. The workers had been frantically trying to clean up the mess, but it was proving difficult.
They saw Kitara standing amidst broken glass items and spilled food. She seemed to be in a state of shock, with tears streaming down her face. Mykel rushed to her side and tried to calm her down.
"What happened Kitara? "Are you hurt?" Mykel asked with concern.
Kitara shook her head, still unable to speak. Amaya quickly assessed the situation and realized that Kitara must have accidentally dropped a tray full of glassware and food.
"It's okay, Kitara; accidents happen." "We'll help you clean this up," Amaya said soothingly.
Mykel signaled to the kitchen staff to leave and they immediately obliged. Amaya and Mykel helped Kitara clean up the mess while trying to console her. Mykel took charge of the situation and ordered some of his trusted men to fetch some cleaning supplies and to help with the cleanup process.
As they cleaned, Mykel and Amaya tried to lighten the mood with jokes and funny stories. Slowly but surely, Kitara started to calm down and even managed a smile. She was grateful for their support and felt a sense of relief knowing that she wasn't alone.
After they finished cleaning up the mess, Mykel suggested that they all take a break and go for a walk in the castle gardens. The night was still young, and they could all use some fresh air.
Kitara then presented the few dishes she had prepared and placed them before Alpha, Mykel, and Amaya. Alpha Mykel smiled. He has been longing to have a taste of Kitara's food again. He quickly grapped one of the dishes and munched on it. Kitara smiled at this, as did Amaya, who also grapped a dish and munched on it.
In chorus, Amaya and Alpha Mykel let out a gasp of satisfaction: "This is something beyond this world." "How on Earth do you prepare this?" Alpha Mykel asked.

Kitara couldn't help but blush at the compliments from Alpha Mykel and Amaya. "It's just a recipe I learned from my grandmother," she said modestly. "But I added a few touches of my own."
"Well, those touches of yours definitely made a huge difference," Amaya said, impressed. "I don't think I've ever tasted anything quite like this before."
Alpha Mykel nodded in agreement and said, "Indeed, it's a remarkable dish." You have a talent for cooking, Kitara. "I think you could easily make a name for yourself with your culinary skills."
Kitara felt a warm feeling inside at Alpha Mykel's praise. Cooking was her passion, and she had always dreamed of becoming a renowned chef before her mother's death. To hear that she had impressed someone as important as the alpha made her feel like she was on the right path.
"Thank you, Your Highness," she said, smiling. "It means a lot to me to hear that from you."
Alpha Mykel and Amaya continued to enjoy the food and chat with Kitara throughout the evening. "Kitara, how would you like to be a royal cook?" Amaya asked out of the blue.
"I will be honored, ma'am," Kitara said with a smile on her face. Amaya turned to Mykel and glanced at him. "Okay, don't give me that steer; I see what you mean by that." Come to think of it, you asked the kitchen maid earlier if Kitara is there, how do you know she will be there" Mykel asked.
"Well, one of our maids is sick, and Kitara heard about it and decided to fill in for her." And that is why she is there; being her first time there, I sensed she might be the source of the commotion. Kitara said.
"Oh, ok. It seems like our little chef here is passionate about cooking," Mykel said. "Yes your highness, before becoming a slave I always dream of becoming one of the best chef in the world" Kitara said with a smile on her face.
"See, so what are we going to do about that?" Amaya said as she glanced at Mykel again. "Okay, I get you. "She has the potential, so why not?" Mykel said with a smile on his face.
"See Kitara, your dreams are becoming a reality little by little," Amaya said, and Kitara understood what she meant by that.
"Thanks, your highness, you won't regret this," she said.
