Chapter 367 Struggle

Chapter 367 Struggle

The meeting ended quickly. Nason returned to his office drenched in sweat, tugged at his tie, and said both irritated and helpless , "You saw that, right? At Star Creation, we're all walking a tightrope. Let me warn you - when dealing with those people, you need to be extra careful. Got it?"

Flora looked at him confused and asked, "Aren't they just company executives? What, are they going to do something illegal? We're all human beings. Worst case, I'll just quit. They can't stop me from leaving, right?"

Nason let out a cold laugh at her words. "Leave? Let me tell you something - anyone who walks through that door can never leave. The moment you think about leaving, your life is over."

He looked at Flora intently. "Know what happened to my previous assistants? After learning about the dangers inside Star Creation, every single one of them panicked and tried to resign. Later, they were all taken care of."

"Once you know Star Creation's secrets, they'll never let you walk out. Understand?"

Flora put on a frightened expression. "Is it really that scary?"

Nason snorted. "What did you think? I'm only telling you this because I really like you so much. I wouldn't bother with anyone else."

Flora quickly moved closer to him and said flatteringly, "I know you're good to me."

She smiled innocently. "This way, we're in the same boat now, even closer than before. Nason, I really like this feeling."

Nason was very pleased by her flattery. The masculine pride that had been crushed in the meeting room came back.

So when Flora looked at him with curiosity and admiration, asking about the identities of those people in the meeting room, he let his guard down completely and told her everything he knew.

"The one sitting at the head, Mr. Reed, is the top person controlling all of Star Creation Media. His name is Desmond. He's ruthless. I heard he's the adopted son of the big boss behind Star Creation. Rumor has it that boss adopted many sons and has them working for him in different fields. I don't know the specifics."

"Anyway, stay away from Mr. Reed. With a snap of his fingers, he could make you disappear."

Flora silently memorized the name Desmond.

"As for Mr. Wells, he's Mr. Reed's most trusted right-hand man. He actually manages all of the company's affairs, big and small. He also handles things Mr. Reed finds inconvenient to deal with himself. Like those uncooperative employees a few days ago - he probably took care of them all."

Flora listened with growing alarm.

She understood perfectly well what "took care of" meant.

And precisely because she understood, it felt even more horrifying.

These people - how dare they!

In Majestic City, disregarding the law, doing whatever they want!

She used all her strength to keep any sign of alarm from showing , only looking at Nason admiringly. "I'm finding you more and more amazing. Without you, I'd never get to experience such an exciting world."

Nason paused, then smiled. "Didn't expect you to be so brave."

Flora said bashfully, "That's because I have you backing me up."

Nason was pleased by her flattery. "Of course. Without me, you'd still be stuck with those trainees. When their training ends, it won't be easy for them. Later you'll realize how good I've been to you!"

Flora asked puzzled, "Won't they just debut? What could be so hard about that?"

Nason's mouth twitched, but he didn't say more on this matter.

Flora was afraid of arousing his suspicion, so she didn't dare ask more.

Although she could now move freely around the company, she still wasn't allowed to leave. She had to stay at the company at night too. Flora acted cute with Nason, and he couldn't bear to make her squeeze into the fully monitored dormitory with other staff, so he let her temporarily stay in the rest room of his office.

The rest room was tiny, with only a six-foot bed, a small table, and a small chair.

But Flora was satisfied, not just because the conditions were better than the dormitory, but more importantly - Nason's rest room had no surveillance equipment.

After dark, when Star Creation locked its doors, Flora hid alone in the small rest room and sent the latest information to Roy.

The FitzRoy Group.

Roy listened to the intelligence Flora sent while taking notes, his breathing growing rapid.

So Star Creation was actually a huge criminal organization?

They had stumbled into what was likely an international criminal syndicate. If he reported this to Mr. FitzRoy, Mr. FitzRoy wouldn't just ignore it, right?

That meant Flora would have to stay iside even longer.

Roy's mind was in turmoil. Rationally, he knew he should report this. Such a criminal organization - if not taken down, who knows how many more innocent victims there would be. Flora insisted on staying inside probably for this very reason.

But it was too dangerous inside. Once he reported it, Mr. FitzRoy would definitely make Flora investigate deeper. He worried about Flora's safety.

If those criminals discovered her, would Flora have any chance of survival?

Roy gripped his notebook tightly, struggling for a long time, unable to make a decision.

He couldn't do it. He couldn't just watch Flora go deeper into danger. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

But he had worked for Mr. FitzRoy for so many years. He should be forever loyal, always thinking of Mr. FitzRoy's interests. That was what a professional assistant should be like.

If Mr. FitzRoy found out he had hidden this, his career would be over. Years of loyalty might earn him a generous severance package, but that would be all.
