Chapter 164 - Get It Back - Feddos

Chapter 164 - Get It Back - Feddos
Roland

Veronica and Diana were biting their nails with nerves, clinging to my side as we watched an action movie, but this was real life. My sister's team went directly against Daza's organization, defying Rata's orders, and that had him fuming. He had stayed in the shadows with his team, silently taking out anyone they encountered.

There were many deaths in Luisa's team. If I had that Tommy, that son of a bitch, I'd kick his ass. I exchanged looks of helplessness and anger with Cebolla, who was in the same state; that bastard had screwed everything up.

Does that asshole want to get Rata killed? If that's what he has in mind, he has no idea who he's messing with, son of a bitch. Veronica got up and moved away from the TV, several men were heading towards our friend's location.

"Miss... Veronica," Cebolla intervened. "If the alarm goes off on the watch, they'll find out."

My woman's eyes were filled with total anguish. Quickly, she took off her rings and left them on the kitchen island. She had tears in her eyes, looking at my friend who had gotten up to comfort her, but he stopped when I also stood up.

I shouldn't feel jealous, damn it, I had to control this. If she runs to Miguel's arms, it will kill me, even if I don't say it. I looked down, Diana screamed, and at that moment my wife's arms wrapped around me, and I held her tight. I didn't know I depended so much on her decision.

"Everything will be fine," I whispered, and she clung to my waist.

"Are you okay?" Miguel asked, still standing in the same spot. It was inevitable, I knew Veronica loved me, but my return was recent, and emotionally she depended on them. That's why I nodded when her look asked for forgiveness for what was about to happen, and it was that need to hold him too.

"I understand," I said.

They looked at each other, and my wife ran to take refuge in Miguel's arms. There was no desire, and the feeling I had was disturbing; in some way, I had lost her, not because she loved someone else. Cebolla apologized as Veronica hugged him. I looked at Diana, who smiled understandingly. Although it was uncomfortable for her too, they showed nothing more than sibling affection.

"Promise me nothing will happen to Simon," Veronica asked. Lord God, give me the wisdom to tolerate this, help me bring her back to me.

"Don't worry, he will."

"And Gustavo, Arnold, Daniel, Anibal. They aren't directly in the operation, but they're close by, and the others I don't know from the team."

"Veronica, calm down," Miguel said. "Look at us, we're calm, we trust Rata, but we're worried about your behavior." Those beautiful honey-colored eyes fixed on me. "Listen to me." She turned her gaze to Miguel, looking like a scared child.

"Would you like to see Roland in another woman's arms?" I saw her shake her head, "Thank you, brother." "Look at me, do you understand what I just said?"

What level of schizophrenia did she present to be treated like a child with a disorder? They treated her gently when she got upset. How unbalanced could my wife have become?

"You are a very intelligent woman, and you can be the woman you were before your wedding again, the one who was confident in her actions and thoughts. We miss that woman. You don't have to be afraid anymore; Roland is with you."

"I'm sorry," she said. I looked at Diana, who was also watching, paying attention to the conversation. I extended my hand; I couldn't be angry, I had to make her trust me again, to want my arms to protect her, not my friends'. She took my hand, I pulled her, and when she came back to me, my life returned too.

"Love..."

"Forgive me."

I shook my head, kissing her forehead as she hugged me with trembling hands. I looked at Miguel, thanking him with my eyes. He sat next to his wife, kissing her knuckles. Diana looked away from the TV, as if she was watching a horror movie.

"Do you want to keep watching?" she shook her head.

"I won't leave you, I'll close my eyes, this is important to you." I nodded.

"Thank you. Rata will get out without problems, remember when you got hurt?" I got her attention. "He's the best at protection and escape, his mind works differently from ours, plus he's studied it. Don't worry, in all the operations and situations we've been in, he always found a solution, no matter how complicated. He gets out of any hole, that's why we call him Rata."
"I see you and Miguel are calm."

"We are, despite the anger I feel toward that idiot Tommy for contradicting Rata's orders."

"Simón's. Honey, forgive me if I made you feel bad for wanting Miguel to hug me."

"Verónica didn't feel good, but I have to understand it. You both bonded over everything that happened while I was away." We sat down, and she clung to my waist. "It's not jealousy like that, I know you wouldn't replace me in that way. It's jealousy of feeling like I'm no longer enough to protect you. In that sense, I feel displaced, and that hurt a bit."

"Forgive me."

I felt her cry, I held her tighter, kissed her forehead, and looked at the screen. I needed to convey calmness. She needed to feel that I would give my life for her.

Rata killed wherever he went. Mojón and Rasca Culo did the same, and Churrusco stayed to protect my sister, though he should be home taking care of himself. I didn't see Zombie. Where the hell is that son of a bitch Daza? My phone rang, it was Luisa.

"Pecosa." Verónica looked up, I smiled seeing her eyebrows furrowed, and gave her a kiss. "Thanks for listening to me, sis."

My wife's expression changed, it felt good to make her a little jealous. She hid her face in my neck again.

"They destroyed or well, killed several, including those who were sending us the feed. Now I don't know how the operation is going, I'm going to die from nerves, Maluco. How's Simón?"

"Don't worry about him, he's fine, his entire team is the ones who have quietly taken down the organization. Can you tell me what the hell happened? Did your boss lose his mind?"

"I have no idea. He seems regretful for his decision. Going head-on wasn't the best move."

"Any five-year-old would know that. You were ninety, how do you go head-on against more than two hundred thugs? Did you forget what they taught you at the academy?"

"I know, believe me. Tommy locked himself up, desperate over the outcome. Now we depend on Simón and his team. Tom locked himself after giving the retreat order. Maluco... Please, send me a message every five minutes to make sure he's still okay."

"Sure, thank God my right-hand man is there. Little by little, they're taking them down. I have no idea how many have died or who among your comrades are still alive. Now it's just my people left. And tell your idiot boss that he can start saying goodbye to his job. Any won't like so many losses in her organization."

"He's already talking to her on the phone. Brother, I don't know what happened, keep me updated. A hug to Verónica."

"Take care, don't leave that place for anything, and if you do, it'll be by Churrusco's request. He's listening to what Rata says, stick close to him." I told her. "Wait for Rata's orders, he'll come for you. I want to have you here, Pecosa."

"Send me the messages, otherwise..."

"I will." I had to do it, otherwise, she would stubbornly walk into that hell.

"Who is Any?"

The screen showed Mojón taking down a guy with his knife. Rata scanned his surroundings, he was near the house. Each one was clearing their path, they had surrounded the place. I imagine he would wait a bit before going in.

"Any is the one I made the deal with. She's the boss of bosses of my sister. Beneath her was the idiot who changed the plans. What we're seeing, she's seeing too. I don't trust some people in that agency."

I followed Rata's advice. In the morning, when we talked, he mentioned that something smelled rotten and something didn't add up in the operation. That's why he was going to use the suit to record and let us see the mission. I told Cebolla to link what we see with Any's IP. That woman was unbreakable, justice ran in her veins, she was a woman of her word, and that's why I liked making the deal with her.

"It could have been worse for my negotiation, and thanks to her influence and trust in me, something I don't understand but attribute to the Lord's miracles, I didn't serve time. However, I can't leave the territory I'm in unless I have a permit from her. I have a satellite tracker embedded in my right arm."

I showed her the small scar. I sent a message to Luisa telling her that Rata and the team were on the outskirts of the farmhouse.

"I love you," Verónica said close to my ear. "I was scared, now I feel calm. I trust your words, Roland." I held her tighter to my body, if that was even possible.

"Verónica, I would give my life for yours," I said, looking into her eyes.

"You confirmed that to me on our wedding day."
