Chapter 75
Serena paced back and forth in her living room, agonizing over her recent actions. She had betrayed Victoria’s trust, and now she didn’t know how to make things right. She had only been trying to protect her best friend, but now she had only succeeded in driving a wedge between them.
As Serena sat on the couch, replaying the events of that fateful day in her mind, a thought suddenly struck her. What if Anna wasn’t there to hurt Victoria after all? What if she was actually Victoria’s long-lost sister, coming back into her life after all these years? Serena’s mind raced with possibilities, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had made a terrible mistake.
Several days passed, and Serena still hadn’t heard from Victoria. She felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach every time she thought about the rift between them. She missed her best friend terribly, and she didn’t know how to make things right.
It was then that Ethan approached her with a solemn expression on his face. He could see how distraught his wife was over the situation with Victoria, and he knew that something had to be done to mend their friendship.
“I think you should go apologize to Victoria,” Ethan said gently. “I know you were just trying to protect her, but maybe she needed a little time to cool down. You need to make amends before it’s too late.”
Serena nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope stirring in her heart. Maybe there was a way to fix things between her and Victoria. Maybe they could put this behind them and move forward.
With a determined look on her face, Serena set out to find Victoria and make things right.
Serena sat nervously in her living room, staring at her phone as she debated whether or not to call Victoria. It had been a few days since they last talked, and she knew she had to fix their friendship.
Ethan could see how much Serena missed her friend, and how much the tension between them was affecting her. “Just give her a call, Serena. Invite her out for coffee and talk things out. You’ll feel so much better once you do.”
With a deep breath, Serena finally dialed Victoria’s number. After a few rings, Victoria answered.
“Hey, Victoria. It’s Serena. I was wondering if we could meet up tomorrow at our favorite coffee shop and talk things out?” Serena asked tentatively.
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before Victoria finally replied, “Sure, Serena. I’ll meet you there tomorrow at 10 am.”
Serena felt a wave of relief flood over her. Maybe this could be the start of repairing their friendship.
Serena had been tossing and turning all night, her mind consumed with thoughts of her strained friendship with Victoria. They had been inseparable for years, sharing secrets, laughter, and tears.
But tonight was different. Serena had finally mustered up the courage to confront Victoria and talk things out. She was determined to salvage their friendship, to mend what had been broken between them. As she drifted off to sleep, a sense of relief washed over her. Tomorrow would be the day they cleared the air, the day they set things right.
The next morning, Serena woke up bright and early, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation. She quickly got ready, slipping on her favorite dress and running a brush through her hair. She wanted to look her best when she saw Victoria, to show her how much their friendship meant to her.
As Ethan got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen, he saw Serena bustling around, getting ready for her coffee date with Victoria. She was carefully choosing her outfit, trying on different combinations of clothes and accessories, her brow furrowed in concentration.
Ethan couldn’t help but smile at the sight. He found it amusing how fussy women could be when it came to their appearance. Serena caught his eye and grinned back at him, her face lighting up with happiness.
After breakfast, Ethan decided to make a quick phone call to Christian. He needed to get some advice on how to handle the situation with Victoria. Christian answered on the first ring, his voice serious and concerned.
“Ethan, what’s going on? Is everything okay?” Christian asked.
Ethan just wanted to make things easier for his wife, so he asked Christian how his wife was that day.
After a moment of silence, Christian spoke up. “I don’t think Victoria is really mad at Serena. I think she’s just hurt, that’s all. She cares about her more than you think.”
As she stood in the living room, her thoughts were interrupted by Ethan wrapping his arms around her from behind. She leaned back into his embrace, feeling his warmth and strength calming her nerves. “Hey, it’s going to be okay,” he whispered in her ear. “Christian just told me that Victoria isn’t mad at you. She’s just hurt.”
Serena let out a deep breath, feeling some of the tension leave her body. She turned around to face her husband, looking up into his caring eyes. “Thank you, Ethan. I don’t know what I would do without you,” she said, grateful for his unwavering support.
Ethan smiled and gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face. “You don’t have to do anything alone, Serena. We’re in this together.”
Serena’s heart swelled with love for her husband. Despite the ups and downs they had faced in their relationship, she knew that Ethan was always there for her, ready to be her rock in times of need. She stood on her tiptoes to plant a soft kiss on his lips, feeling a rush of warmth and affection between them.
As they pulled away, Serena felt a sense of determination rising within her. She couldn’t let her fear hold her back any longer. Taking a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and said, “I’m going to go talk to Victoria. I need to clear the air and make things right.”
Ethan nodded in encouragement, his eyes filled with pride for his wife’s strength and resilience. “I’ll be here waiting for you when you get back. You’ve got this, Serena.”
With a newfound sense of confidence, Serena grabbed her purse and headed out the door. The walk to the coffee shop was a short one, but every step felt like a mile as she mentally prepared herself for the conversation ahead.
