I helped Alex out of the Jeep and walked her to the clearing. We were technically here to have a picnic, but that wasn’t the whole reason. Valenciaga had grinned at me while handing me the keys to the Jeep. She looked around and took a deep breath.

“Wow, this is really pretty here.” She smiled back at all of us and we couldn’t help but smile back. 

“Well, we’re glad you think it’s pretty. Tiny do you have the basket?” I looked behind me and he held it up to indicate that he did.

Rabid had a blanket, and Ratchet had managed to find a big shade umbrella, as we didn’t want Alex to get sunburned while we were out here. I helped lower her down to the blanket that Rabid had spread out on the ground. 

She tilted her head back, and then leaned back on her arms, just closing her eyes and enjoying the sunshine. She was so incredibly beautiful, and the sun set her hair on fire, it was breathtaking. Of course, she would always take my breath away no matter what. I knew the others were the same way.

“So, are you guys going to tell me what we’re actually doing here? Not that I don’t mind the romantic gesture, but I know you guys and I know there is something else going on.” She grinned at all of us.

We all chuckled, cause yeah, trying to get things past her usually never worked, “Well, actually there are several reasons we are out here. One reason was that we wanted to spend time with you. The other thing is that we wanted to check in with you about how your project with the other women was coming along, brief you about some new developments, and then talk to you about a very important idea we all had.” 

“Okay, that sounds like a lot, so how about, I love spending time with all of you guys as well, the project is coming along. I was actually surprised at how many of them wanted to get more IT skills. So, Atorro and I are working on training them a bit at a time. I don’t want them diving headfirst into the cesspool of all of that shit we are wading through. There are some things they can help us go through, without subjecting themselves to all of the gory details. If they feel later they want to get more involved then we’ll go from there. I am working through the list of names they gave me for sisters, and one daughter, who were also taken and are still missing. So, that’s heartbreaking because I want to be able to give them that information right away, and it’s taking me longer than that. Now, what else did you guys want to talk to me about?”

We all looked at one another with grins, and then grinned at our woman. Her belly was pretty big now, and the babies would be delivered within the next month. So, they were really active, and she was constantly complaining that they were jumping on her bladder. Hope was beside herself with the new babies, and she loved to feel Alex’s belly. Valen understood baby, but that was about it. 

The guys gave me a chin nod to tell me to get the fuck on with it already, “So, you said you thought this place was beautiful right?”

She nodded, “Yeah.”

“Well, if you are okay with it, then it’s ours. We thought it was time to put all of our talked-about plans into motion. We have all been tossing around ideas about where we wanted to settle permanently. We knew we wanted it to be here, but not sure if that meant Valenciaga’s compound, or our own place. So, we came up with an idea and we wanted to run it by you.”

“Okay, well spill, I’m listening.” She was focused on my face and I licked my lips.

“What would you think about us building our own compound here? We could set up our whole thing with our command center, you could transfer the files and computer parts here, and basically set up your own IT department to help you go through all of these files and all of the information. Especially now that you are training so many of the women we rescued. This would be a place for the victims that we rescue to have a safe place. We would need to incorporate medical facilities for those who needed medical attention after being rescued. Then we could have a program like what you’re doing, helping them figure out what they want to do and where they want to go from there. If they stay, we’d have to make sure to include housing of some kind for those women. So, it’s a huge undertaking, and it has a lot of moving parts. Valenciaga helped us to get the deed for 100 acres here. That’s big enough for a central house, command center, training facility, medical facility, housing for personnel as well as women who stayed to help.”

She paused, “Oh my gosh, that’s fucking huge. I know we’d tossed around having our own compound or house, but this sounds like more than that. How long would something like that take to set up?”

“Honestly, we don’t know baby. We’d have to do a huge amount of planning to get things rolling. We’re probably talking at least a year or 2 for things to really be ready for us to implement. In the meantime, we stay here and keep doing what we’re doing. Valenciaga is helping still, but he does have other aspects to his businesses that could in time cause problems with what we are doing, and he knows that. This is close enough to him and Satine, that they will be the grandparents to our kids no doubt. He’s also available should we need assistance with our operations.” Saint spelled that out for her and she nodded.

“I say, yes, let’s go for it. Let’s build something important, and keep doing what we are doing, just with better facilities and more room.” She smiled and we all took turns hugging and kissing her. 

Then we spent the rest of the afternoon, eating, and talking about our dreams and how to make them come true.
