Chapter 148 Legacies, And Living Our Forever

Chapter 148 Legacies, And Living Our Forever
Alex

I am lying in bed in the medical facility. I have our new baby girl held close to my chest as I try to get her latched as she’s rooting around looking for her first meal. Cody has our baby boy, and the guys are gathered around him and me, just watching in awe just as I am.

They were delivered via c-section, as we weren’t sure what complications might arise if I tried to do it naturally, and I was happy to be completely numb with all of that. I didn’t really want to do the whole labor thing again actually.

“So, which names did you want to go with? We’d listed out a few, but which ones were your favorites?” Tiny asked me from beside me where he was sitting on the bed with me.

“I think my favorites were Selene, that way it’s really after Satine, and she’d been thrilled with that. Also, since we named Valen after their last name Valenciaga, I thought that Dominick was good, as Valenciaga’s first name is Domingo, which no one ever uses except for Satine.”

They mulled it over and in the end, they agreed with me. So it was Selena and Dominick, and they were two tiny bundles of perfection. I was surprised that he had a shock of red hair he’d obviously got from me, his eyes were blue, and his skin was darker than mine, but not as dark as his sisters’s bronzed tone.. Selene had darker skin, more bronzed, and she had black hair and very dark eyes.

After being fed and diapered, they were passed out sleeping, and the guys took turns holding them. It was so amazing to see these huge guys with these tiny bundles of babies, and watch them melt all over the place and turn into goo, at the sight of these little ones. I had to grin at that.

We were trying to work with some local contractors that Valenciaga had commissioned, so we could actually start building our facility and home. I was excited about it honestly, although I had a feeling it was going to take some work to get it actually up and running. It felt a little daunting at times, but in the end, I believed it would be worth it.

“What are you thinking about? You look so serious and deep in thought?” Rabid asked from the foot of the bed.

“Just thinking about that meeting with the contractor a couple of days ago, and all of the plans he’s drawing up for us. It seems a bit daunting, but I’m excited and I’m ready to get it going. I hope it doesn’t get drawn out and take a lot longer than we are anticipating.”

Rabid shrugged, “Well, if it does, it does. We are all together, and that’s not changing. Now we have 2 more babies to start raising, and we are still diligently working on finding the women. Yes, the facility will make it easier, and it will be amazing when it’s complete, but we don’t have to pause what we’re already doing while it gets built.”

I nodded, “Yeah, I know. I just get anxious for the dreams to come to fruition.”

Cody was standing beside the head of the bed with Dominick in his arms rocking him back and forth gently, “You have had so long that things have been messed the fuck up, I can understand why you would be anxious for things to settle, and us just be able to get on with life. Yes, there’s going to be more shit, well, because we wade through shit to help people. So that’s inevitable. However, you feeling like you are being pulled one place or another can ease off. The whole thing with the Vandicoffs is now finally buried and it will never haunt you again. Valenciaga has made sure to spread the word that you are no longer connected to them in any way, and anyone coming after you would bring his wrath down on their heads.” We all chuckled at that.

“Yeah, that man can be vicious where you are concerned, and I think it’s great. We are secure, and we don’t really have to worry about something happening to you or the kids anymore. I understand that we still are going after vicious and evil people, but they are playing defense right now. We have a lot of backup, and we have all sorts of safety in place. Plus now the bad guys are exposed so they don’t have places to hide, and their whole system is being dismantled. Soon, the entire Regional Alpha system will be no more, and hopefully good things will replace it.”

Tiny scooted me onto his lap and I winced just a bit and he apologized and then wrapped his arms around me, “The truth is there will never be an end to evil people doing evil shit. We’ll never get to the place where we are able to say, " Oh, okay, we’re done now, we’ve rescued everyone who needs to be rescued, we’ve taken care of every trafficking ring, we’ve ended all of this other bullshit that we’ve discovered. That will never happen. So, we need to just concentrate on our family, we’re happy, we’re together, we love you more than the English language can possibly describe, and we know you love us the same way. We love and cherish our children. So, that’s awesome. The rest is just a bonus of us being able to kick ass and help people.”

“Yeah, I know, and yes I love you the same way, all of you. I wonder if someday the kids will join us or even take over for us and keep everything going? Maybe this will be our legacy. I think I could live with that.” I smiled at all of them.

Cody laughed, “That would be awesome, and yes, we all could live with that, love, very easily.”

We watched our children, loved them, and I thought about that. What would our kids think of what we were doing? Would they help? If so great, if not, then we’d support them through whatever they wanted in this life.

For now, it was time to start living our forever.

The End?
