Chapter 144 Am I Seeing This?

Chapter 144 Am I Seeing This?
Alex

What little I’ve heard about the compound has given me nightmares, and I know the guys are struggling with a few things. We are all just rallying around each other and being each other’s comfort and strength right now. Hearing about those children broke my heart in a whole new way.

One of the doctors here set up something he hopes will help somewhat. The kids are in a room with one wall of glass. They are perfectly safe, they have each other, and they have their cages. Then there are mattresses on the floor, toys, stuffed animals, soft blankets, food, water, and a couple of the women are staying in the room, just on the far side, so the kids know they are there and can see them.

On the other side of that glass wall, they have set up a playroom for the kids of Valenciaga’s compound, with lots of fun toys and games. They’re hoping that seeing other children, and seeing them laughing and having fun, and not being hurt in any way, might coax them out of the cages, and maybe help make them feel more like interacting.

I’d already had the information we were wading through from the Vandicoff estate, and now I have absolutely mountains of information, papers, computers and it’s overwhelming. Atorro and I have started trying to just separate out things so we know where to start basically. I’ve already started working on new programs and extending the parameters of ones that we’re already running.

Atorro actually brought some people in here, just to help us sort shit out. They are not working on anything as far as the IT side of it, they are just bodies who are assisting us in getting things sorted, and it’s been so much help.

The guys had trouble and broke down quite a bit while talking about those victims in the “studio” as it was called. The idea that they were too late for the one, and what was done to her. They have talked about the others and how horrific it was and how helpless they felt. It’s hard for us to talk about, but it helps us to get it out and be able to support each other through it. They may be my big tough protectors, but they have hearts and compassion, so they hurt with this bullshit.

The doctors are fairly certain that the girl from the 3rd room isn’t going to make it, and all of us have mixed feelings about it. She’s been hurt so badly, and what has been done to her is permanent. If she lives she’ll never see or speak, and she’s going to have to go through a lot of painful healing. So, is it a mercy if she doesn’t make it and never has to face all of that? She’s alive, so part of me is like, fuck no, she’s alive, if she lives it’s a good thing. Then I think about how I might possibly feel in that situation, and it goes round and round in fucked up circles.

Today I was wading through computer information, and tracing people who had been on that live stream. I am hoping to hunt them down, because even if they weren’t physically present in that room, they were just as fucking guilty. They were actually requesting horrific shit to be done to them, and that is just a mind fuck. I will never be able to wrap my head around how incredibly fucked up some people are.

As I read and watch names and computer addresses or information hubs where the signals came from, all of a sudden my eye is drawn to the screen and I freeze. I pause everything and just sit there. I keep staring at the information on my screen, telling myself that I can’t possibly be seeing what I think I am.

I dive into the information looking to verify what is right in front of me. I can’t make myself believe it until I have verified it over and over again. Tiny comes into the office and when he sees me he immediately is there at my desk, squatting down next to me, and he’s wiping tears that are streaming down my face.

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong? What did you find?” I just stare at the screen, then look at him, then go back to the screen, and over and over I just go back and forth without being able to say anything at first.

Eventually what I do is turn my screen so that Tiny can see the information in front of me. It takes him a few moments before he pieces it together, and then his eyes get big, and he shakes his head.

“I knew you said they were fucking assholes, and you hated them, but I guess we never really knew just how depraved they truly were, or rather are as this is so recent. Wow, that’s truly fucked up.” I just nod.

My parents are part of this bullshit. My mother and my father both, they were participating in that fucking live stream. I am flabbergasted. I mean, as Tiny said, they have always been neglectful, snobby assholes, but I honestly never thought they were this fucked up and depraved. It does make me wonder what my father would have actually done to me if the Vandicoffs hadn’t claimed me.

I had been afraid he was working on a deal to sell me to some Alpha, and apparently, the parameters of that sale may have been very different from what I could have imagined. When I ran from the Vandicoffs of course I was relieved to be away from them as well. Then when those guys forcefully mated me, they occasionally reached out to Xander, or at least that’s what he’d told me. I’d never once spoken to them in all of these years.

When the Vandicoffs died, they had surfaced as my parents and gave interviews, talked to anyone who would listen that they were my parents, and they milked their 5 minutes of fame off of my horrors.

Even with all of that, this level of fucked up never entered my mind. I thought they were just selfish snobs who cared about themselves and their pocketbooks more than me. That was very true, but that is different from the evidence of what exactly they are. They are part of this horror that has been visited upon so many women, and they are enjoying it and participating in it.

“Well, love, what do you want to do about this?” Tiny asks and I just turn to look at him.
