CHAPTER 108-A FACADE
Tessa's ovulation was getting out of hand, getting the best of her. One could imagine how bad it was already, since it now made her workers seem attractive to her. She needed to call herself to order.
It was work o'clock again, and she wasn't about to be distracted; work was calling, and she had to give it all she had. She had been invited to speak at a National Entrepreneurship Program.
She was honoured to be invited and to share her story. As long as it would encourage someone out there, give them the hope they needed to keep going, she was more than overjoyed.
Tessa never imagined, not even in another life, that she would meet someone dear to her at the event. She stormed the event and, as always, looked her absolute best. She came in grand style.
She was walking through the aisle, her security men around her, when she heard an argument going on behind her, between her bodyguards and a beautiful lady. She turned around and was overjoyed to know who it was: Tisa!
"Heeyyy girl!!! How have you been?! It's been quite a while. What's good?" Tessa let out. "I'm good, good sis. You look amazing! It's awesome to see how far you've come!" Tisa praised.
"Oh yeah. Thank you, what have you been up to?" Tessa asked. Tisa was like a sister to Tessa; they were roommates and friends back in the university, and after university, they continued to build a friendship bond that flourished over the years.
Tessa's family knows Tisa as her sister and a bona fide part of the family. Tisa had been there so much for Tessa and her family when things weren't as they should be. So seeing each other now was a huge reunion.
Tisa changed her phone. She was attacked recently and lost most of her belongings to the attack, along with her phone. She lost so many contacts, among whom Tessa's was included.
"We need to talk. Let's see after the program. We need to catch up! It's been a while!!! I almost even believed I'd never be able to see you again, and you know how you are, no Facebook, no WhatsApp. No way to reach you!" Tisa teased.
"My dear, most of the time, my work takes the better part of me, and I'm left scrambling for time to even relate with it, my creator, and my family. You know, there are things that make life worth living." Tessa said.
"I understand, but that's still not an excuse. You need to try to get on the social media space more than you run from it. You just might find what you're searching for there. You never can tell." Tisa teased as she walked away.
Unknown to her, she had just dropped a strong word of advice to Tessa, one she had understood in the language she wanted to, at that moment. She was lost in thought.
"But I'm on Instagram, you know," Tessa muttered, trying to console herself. She had come to have some fun, she'd just get over with it, she thought to herself. Tisa had disappeared into the crowd; it was impossible to spot her now.
Tessa had decided to take her mind off Julian and focus on other things. And that, she was doing so well, better than she ever thought she could. The party was progressing smoothly until something absurd happened.
A waiter passing by mistakenly splashes a cup of wine on Tessa's designer wear. It seems like all of a sudden, the spotlight is on Tessa. She carries herself with grace, hurrying off to use the convenience, and many are shocked to their bones.
