A Sweet Call and a Hungry Stomach
A Sweet Call and a Hungry Stomach
The two lectures of the day had just ended. Cathy quickly sneaked out of the classroom.
She moved fast through the busy hallway and headed straight to her car. During the classes, she could not concentrate at all.
Her mind kept thinking about Adrian. His smile, his voice, and the way he made her feel special filled her thoughts. Now she sat inside her car, safe and alone.
She took out her phone and dialed his number. The call began to ring as she waited for him to pick up.
"Hello baby." Adrian's voice came out firm and charming.
Immediately, Cathy blushed hard. Her cheeks turned warm and pink.
She pouted her lips slightly and muttered, "How are you? You didn't text me this morning."
Adrian smiled on the other end. He was now in his office, standing near the large chair.
At that moment, he adjusted his tie with one hand and sat down slowly. "I'm sorry baby. I have been busy. I just left the board meeting when I got your call. I was planning to call you after the board meeting."
"Ohhh, Mr. Adrian Coker, the baddest man in the game. Hmmm. What are you planning next to use to shock the world?" Cathy muttered to him teasingly.
He responded in a playful tone too. "Why don't you wait and see, Miss Stewart? I mean, the heir of Stewart Group should never be in a hurry."
"Well well, if you say so, I will just wish you good luck in everything you do." Cathy replied while twisting her hair gently around her finger.
"What did you have for breakfast? Have you had breakfast?" Adrian threw the question after her.
Immediately, Cathy realized she had not eaten anything all day. She had not gotten time to eat. But she would not tell Adrian that.
She knew he would scold her. So she replied quickly, "Oh yeah, I had breakfast already. I had pancakes and scrambled eggs."
But at that moment, her stomach made a loud rumbling sound. It was a clear sound of hunger. Adrian could hear it over the phone. He laughed softly.
Cathy felt very embarrassed. She had lied, but her stomach had told the truth.
Adrian's voice came again, serious but caring. "I guess this rule has not been set in the relationship. No one must lie in the relationship.
It is not healthy to lie. Imagine you lying to me just to avoid getting scolded. But what happens later?"
At that, Cathy said nothing. What could she even say? Adrian was right. It was not healthy to lie in a relationship.
Then Adrian's voice boomed out again. This time it sounded commanding but full of love. "Now you go get something to eat right away, and I will call you back to check if you have eaten. I care about you too much to let you go hungry, baby."
At that moment, Cathy ran her index finger across her lips and bit it gently. She nodded in agreement even though he could not see her. She muttered calmly, "Okay..."
Afterwards, Adrian responded softly, "I love you, and I will call you soon." Then the call ended with a gentle click.
That last statement made Cathy's face grow pink. She was blushing deeply. Even though Adrian had scolded her a little, he still made her feel so good and loved.
Just then, her phone chimed as she pulled it away from her ear. She clicked on the notification that popped up. It was a credit alert message.
Adrian had sent her a huge amount of money. Cathy's eyes widened immediately. She could not believe her eyes.
The amount was more than enough for breakfast and much more. Of course, she was Cathy Stewart, the one and only heir of Stewart Group. Money was never a problem for her.
But being spoiled by her boyfriend, who was also like family, felt wonderful.
A sweet smile lingered on her face. Just as the smile was about to last longer, Isabella's call popped up on her phone.
Immediately, Cathy's heart made a small flip. She had spent too much time inside the car. Isabella must have been looking for her so they could go for breakfast together in the school cafe.
She picked up the call. Instantly, Isabella's voice came out very loud. "Hey babe, where are you? I have been looking for you everywhere! The class ended and you disappeared.
Aren't we having breakfast? Almost everyone has come to eat. Cathy, I'm fucking starving! Where are you!!!!"
The last statement was very loud. It definitely hit Cathy's ear hard.
She immediately covered her ears and laughed before replying with a small lie to save herself. "Oh gosh, please take it easy baby. I quickly went to the car with my mom. I needed somewhere silent and peaceful. You know the lecture rooms are not. So I will be back soon. Just give me two minutes."
"Okay baby, please be back in the next two minutes. I'm waiting at the corridor of the second lecture room." Isabella said and immediately hung up the call.
Afterwards, Cathy opened her messenger and dropped a quick message for Adrian. "I'm about to get something to eat. Don't call yet.
I will be with my friend soon, so I will call you when I'm free. I love you so much baby." As she typed the last words, she felt warm inside. She hit the send button. The message was delivered immediately, but Adrian had not read it yet.
Cathy adjusted her clothes neatly. She wore a pretty light blue blouse that hugged her figure softly and a pair of fitted jeans.
Her hair was styled in loose waves, and small earrings sparkled on her ears. She looked fresh and beautiful, even after a long morning of classes.
She walked out of the car and began heading back into the lecture building. Her steps were light and quick. Isabella was waiting for her at the corridor, probably tapping her foot impatiently.
As Cathy got closer to the entrance, she smiled to herself. The day felt good. Adrian's voice still echoed in her mind, and the money he sent made her heart flutter. But just as she turned the corner to meet Isabella, she noticed something strange.
A black car with tinted windows was parked across the street. It looked out of place near the school.
The engine was running, and someone seemed to be watching from inside. Who could that be? Cathy felt a small chill run down her spine. She shook her head and hurried toward her friend, but the uneasy feeling stayed with her.
