Chapter 108 BONUS CHAPTER I
Chapter 108 BONUS CHAPTER I
Aiden
The bass from the club throbbed beneath the floor as smoke curled lazily from the cigar between my fingers.
Six of my men stood by my sides, three in each side while in front of me, a man knelt. His body swayed as he struggled to stay upright, blood dripping steadily from his split lip onto the floor. One eye was already swollen shut while the other flickered between me and the gun resting in my hand.
When our eyes met, he shuddered.
"I..." His voice trembled as he lowered his head quickly. "It was a mistake, boss. I swear I didn't mean—"
A quiet, humourless chuckle left me. "A mistake?"
I leaned forward slightly, resting my elbows on my knees.
"You took my money," I said, voice dangerously calm. "And you're calling it a mistake?"
"I was going to return it. I just needed time. Please—"
"You need time?"
"Yes," he replied quickly, nodding frantically. "I'll get it. I swear I'll."
"Why do you all motherfuckers touch my stuff and ask for time?"
He crawled forward, grabbing my leg. "Please, boss. Just one more chance. Please."
I kicked him off me, disgusted that he put his bloody hands on me.
"I don't give second chances to gambling addicts who think they can dip their fucking hands into what's mine and get away with it."
"Please," he cried. "I have a son."
"I know."
The way his face changed into pure horror almost amused me.
I crushed the cigar onto the ashtray and stood.
"I'll make sure he works his ass off paying your debt," I said, stepping closer.
"No, please, boss. He's only twenty."
"And as for you," I pressed the barrel to his forehead. "You are no longer useful to me."
"Ple—"
The gunshot cut him off and his body dropped.
The loud music continued like a man didn't just die.
I exhaled slowly, lowering the gun as one of my men stepped forward.
"Clean it up."
They moved immediately without hesitation.
I glanced down at the blood spreading across the tiles and stepped back just in time to avoid it touching my shoes.
"I hope I didn't get any on me," I muttered, brushing at my shirt and checking my sleeves.
Satisfied, I picked up my glass, drained it, and stepped out of the room where the noise swallowed me whole again.
Outside, the manager and his men were already waiting.
"Good evening, boss," they greeted in unison, heads bowed.
I gave a slight nod as I walked past them, then stopped when I noticed one of the men, the same one who had reported that Roman came asking for VIP footage, was now missing a finger.
He quickly hid his hand behind his back when he noticed my gaze.
I turned slowly, stepping in front of him.
"What happened to your finger?"
"Nothing, boss," he answered, voice right and eyes fixed on the floor.
He didn't need to say the name, I already knew who did it.
My jaw clenched.
"Get back to work," I said coldly, already walking away.
I found Roman seated at the dining table when I got home, eating.
"Welcome home," he grumbled without sparing me a glance.
I stepped further in, my gaze fixed on him. "One of my men is missing a finger."
He let out a wicked chuckle, stabbing his fork into his food. "I guess losing a finger wasn't enough to keep his bloody mouth shut. Maybe he's hoping to lose more."
"Roman Kingston," I growled, my voice low and tight with barely restrained anger.
He shurgged. "He lost a finger. So what?"
"I don't want you anywhere near my club again."
That got his attention.
He looked up slowly, a smug expression spreading across his face. "So it's fine if I do it outside?"
My hand slammed against the table, the sound echoing through the room.
"Don't. Fucking. Touch any of my men."
He held my gaze for a second, completely unfazed, then sighed.
His fork clattered against the plate as he pushed his chair back.
"Whatever, old man."
Then he walked out.
Goddamit! It took a lot of self control not to grab him by the collar and punch that fucking face of his that looked like Leah's.
"Did you two fight again?" Leah's voice came from behind seconds later, calming me down instantly.
I turned and walked straight into her, wrapping my arms around her waist and burying my face in her neck.
"Fuck. I missed you," I muttered, breathing her in.
Her fingers slid into my hair immediately as she whispered, "Welcome home."
I pulled her closer.
"Did you kill someone?" She asked suddenly.
I pulled back, frowning as I sniffed myself.
"I made sure not to get any on me."
Her brows drew together as she folded her arms and began scolding me. "How many times have I told you not to come home smelling like that?"
"I'm sorry."
"Go take a shower. Now."
"You will join me?"
"I already showered."
"You can have another one."
'Ai—"
Before she could finish, I lifted her and threw her over my shoulder.
She shrieked, laughing as she kicked her legs. "Put me down right now!"
"No."
I ignored her already heading upstairs, and when she kept kicking, I gave her ass a little spank.
She yelped. "Aiden!"
"If you keep kicking, I'll assume you are asking to be spanked."
She went still, too still.
Yeah... she was definitely plotting something.
I only put her down once we were inside the bathroom.
She turned to me immediately, narrowing her eyes. "I'll have my revenge."
I chuckled, leaning down to brush my lips against hers. "I'm looking forward to it."
She held my gaze as she slowly licked her lips.
"Aiden."
"Yes," I murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear before letting my fingers trail down the curve of her neck.
"What happened?"
"Work."
She frowned. "That's not what I mean."
"Don't let it bother you."
I moved to kiss her again, but she turned her face away. "I don't like how you two aren't telling me anything."
How the hell was I supposed to tell her our son was turning into the type of man she fought so hard not to let him become?
I sighed, cupping her face and making her look at me. "I warned him several times to stay away from my club, and as if to piss me off, he started going often and bringing along his friends," I lied.
I mean, it isn't actually a lie since he did do that, but that wasn't why we fought.
She bit her lips, her eyes searching mine like she could peel the truth right out of me. It was obvious she didn't buy it, but she didn't argue. Instead, her fingers moved to my shirt, undoing the buttons one by one.
"You didn't react like this when he started smoking," she said softly. "Or when he got piercings or tattoos."
So she knew he smoked.
"I don't like it when you two fight," she added. "You two always make me feel like I have to pick a side."
I brushed my thumb over her cheek.
"I'll talk to him after we shower."
Her shoulders relaxed a little, and a small smile spread across her lips as she leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss against my chest right over where her name was inked.
"I am starting to think you love this one more than this," I said, lifting my hand to show her the letters of her name tattooed across my fingers.
She giggled, taking my hand in hers and pressing kisses against my knucles. "I love this too," she murmured, peeking up at me through her lashes.
I sucked in a sharp breath. "You are giving me those 'please fuck me' eyes."
She immediately pouted, glaring at me. "What about now?"
"Now it's 'please fuck me hard and rough against the wall' eyes."
She burst out laughing. "Fuck you."
"Oh I will."
