Chapter 309 Steven Coaxes Her

Chapter 309 Steven Coaxes Her

"Stop getting closer to me." Nora felt a bit helpless.

But before she could react, Steven's hand was already threading through her hair, gripping the back of her head, and kissing her lips hard.

"Steven!"

He didn't listen, biting her soft lips as their mouths tangled together.

A moment later, Steven's lips left hers, but he didn't let go. Holding her close, his breathing heavy, he said, "Stop getting involved with Louis, okay? I'm afraid he'll hurt you."

He was still part of the Bennett family, after all.

Nora turned her head away. "He would never hurt me."

As soon as she said that, his arm around her waist tightened even more, gripping her like iron. "Still not listening, are you?"

Nora's face went pale from the pain. When he saw it, he loosened his grip a bit and reached up to touch her face.

Nora slapped his hand away. "What the hell do you want? Are you crazy?"

"Pretty much." Seeing her playing on the water with Louis had filled him with jealousy—he was pretty much going crazy.

He looked at Nora's beautiful face, and in that instant, as if bewitched, he lowered his head and captured her lips.

Soft and sweet woman.

He could never kiss her enough.

He pried open her teeth and kissed her deeply.

Nora's eyes went wide as she lifted her foot to kick him without hesitation.

Steven's large hand caught her rising leg, his eyes dark. "Where are you kicking me?"

"Let me go." She glared at him furiously.

"Kicking me comes with a price." The next second, he lifted her leg up, holding her as Nora found herself suspended in the air, pressed against the wall.

This position... was too humiliating...

Nora panicked a little. "Are you crazy?"

"Who started it?" Steven looked down at her.

Nora bit her lip. "I'll say sorry, okay?"

She was pressed against the wall by him, her legs wrapped around his waist. Nora found this position indecent—if someone saw them...

"Not okay. Who told you to kick me? If you break me, who's going to make you happy?"

"I don't need you to make me happy." Nora's eyes were frantic. Everyone knew what kind of "happiness" he was talking about...

"Don't need it? Who's the one saying every night how good it feels and how much she likes it?"

Nora wanted to kill him.

Every time they fought, he brought this up.

They'd be having a perfectly good argument, and he'd always bring up this thing about her. She turned her head away. "When we're getting along and when we're fighting are different."

"Then be sweet with me."

"I don't want to!" She glared.

Steven looked at her face, flushed red with anger, and leaned in to kiss her. "Be good. You can't leave me anyway, so instead of fighting with me, why not be sweet to me?"

If Nora weren't being held down by him, she really wanted to slap him.

"Stop seeing Louis from now on, okay?" Steven coaxed against her ear.

Nora didn't want to deal with him.

Steven suddenly moved, and Nora's scalp tingled. She almost fell and could only frantically grab his shirt collar in panic. "What are you doing? I almost fell! Put me down."

"Listen carefully to what I'm saying."

Nora huffed. "Why should I listen to you?"

"Because you're my wife."

"I'm just your wife, not your possession."

He moved again.

Nora gritted her teeth and pounded his shoulder. "That's enough!"

"Will you listen or not?"

"No!"

"Fine. I've been nice about it, but you won't listen. I'll use my own methods to make you listen." With that, he pulled out his phone with one hand and dialed Louis's number.

Nora's eyes went wide as she looked at him. "What are you doing?"

"Letting him hear how I usually love you." With that, he set the phone aside.

The screen showed the call was connected.

"Mr. York? What's up?" Louis's voice came through the phone.

Nora tried to reach for it, but Steven's large hand pressed hers down, pinning it above her head. Then a flurry of kisses rained down.

Absolutely insane!

Nora was kissed breathless but didn't dare make a sound. She bit her own lip and pounded Steven hard.

But the more she resisted, the more roughly Steven claimed her.

The two of them were doing something indescribable in this private space.

He unzipped his pants, threatening her through the thin fabric.

Nora didn't dare cry out. She bit her lip, her nerves stretched to the limit, and said quietly, "I'm begging you, hang up the phone."

She was really scared of Steven now. He was a lunatic.

"I'm uncomfortable." He wasn't doing much better himself, his whole body tense, but he wasn't holding her hand down anymore.

Nora's first reaction was to grab the nearby phone. The screen showed the call was still ongoing.

Nora didn't know if her gasping had been heard just now. She felt very ashamed and hung up the call immediately.

Steven's large hand slipped under her skirt. "We're already like this anyway, let's make love?"

"No!" She refused, kicking wildly.

Steven was twisted uncomfortably and groaned, his voice hoarse. "In your car then."

"No way!" Nora was so annoyed with him, pushing him away.

Just then, Louis walked over. He had finished showering and came out of the changing room carrying his clothes, calling Nora on his phone.

When the ringtone sounded, Nora felt completely humiliated.

They were right behind the changing room. If someone had sharp hearing, they would definitely hear them.

She was afraid Louis would walk over. She looked at Steven in alarm. "Louis is right outside, let me go."

"Then I'll call him over." Steven said, about to answer her phone.

This lunatic!

Nora was going crazy. She wrapped her arms around his neck. "Stop playing around, okay? My heart can't take it!"

Steven glanced at her. "Don't want me to call him over?"

"If you dare call him over, I'll never talk to you again." Any woman with a sense of shame wouldn't want to be seen like this.

"Then come home with me?"

Nora didn't want to leave with him. Steven was about to answer the call and had already pressed the answer button.

Nora's heart was about to jump out. She grabbed his sleeve urgently. "I'll go with you!"

The call connected just then. Steven smiled and held the phone to her ear.

"Hey, Nora, I'm done showering. Aren't you ready yet?" Louis's voice came through the phone.

Nora took a breath and said, "Louis, something came up so I'm heading back first. Sorry about that."

After speaking, Nora immediately hung up. Her breathing was rapid, afraid Louis would hear something.

After a while, Louis left.

Nora pushed Steven. "Let me go."

Steven released her. He knew Nora wanted to save face and hadn't really intended to do anything to her outside—he just wanted her to give in.

The two walked out.

Nora didn't say a word.

Dealing with a lunatic, she couldn't fight him. He was unreasonable, domineering, and overbearing.

She didn't want to compete with a lunatic over who was crazier.

At the parking lot, Nora found her car keys and gave them to him. "You drive."

Steven took them. Just then, James called. Steven answered and said flatly, "You take Scarlett home."

Hearing Scarlett's name, Nora felt annoyed again and opened the back door to get in.

Steven wouldn't let her sit in back. He grabbed her hand. "Sit in front, chat with me."

"I don't want to." Nora refused. As they struggled, Nora's knee hit the car door—the same knee that had been injured a few days ago.

New injury on top of old, Nora was in so much pain that tears came out. The wound had reopened too, with a few drops of fresh blood seeping out.

Steven froze, then almost immediately bent down to check her knee.

Nora sat in the car, pressing her knee with her hand, her face pale from the pain.

"Where did you hurt yourself? Let me see." Steven tried to move her hand.

Nora refused, tears streaming down as she said, "Don't touch me, just drive!"

"Let me just take a look." Steven coaxed her softly.

Nora refused, curling up in the back seat, just refusing to acknowledge him.

She was in pain, felt wronged, and was irritable.

Steven saw how much she was resisting him, and his heart ached a little. After a moment of silence, he turned to drive.

Just then, James and Scarlett walked to the parking lot.

Steven drove the Audi out. Scarlett looked over and saw Steven and Nora sitting in the car.

Scarlett's expression changed, and she bit her lip.

Just now, Steven had seen Nora with Louis, so how come he was with Nora again now...

The Audi drove through traffic.

Steven kept glancing at Nora in the rearview mirror. She was covering her knee, her face scrunched up, clearly still in pain.

"Does it still hurt a lot? Let me take you to the hospital." Steven's voice carried some urgency.

Nora removed her hand. Her palm was stained with some blood.

She looked down in her bag for tissues. Steven had already passed her the tissue box.

Nora glanced at it, paused slightly, but didn't take it. She continued searching for tissues in her own bag.

Steven's brow furrowed tightly, his expression not looking good, but he didn't say anything more.

At the hospital, Steven carried her inside.

Once in the examination room, Steven finally saw the wound on her foot clearly. The old, scabbed-over wound had been torn open again, a bloody mess.

He had seen the gauze on her knee before and asked her what happened to her foot. She said it was nothing.

Today, because the old wound had torn open, Steven finally saw clearly—there was a deep scar there.

"How did you get this scar?" Steven asked her.

Nora kept a cold face. "It's nothing."

Steven was really annoyed with her. He wanted to ask, but she just wouldn't say.

Finally, the doctor rebandaged her wound.

After the bandaging, Steven crouched down, got her shoes, and gently put them on for her.

Nora looked at him but said nothing, about to get down from the bed.

Steven scooped her up in his arms.

Nora's breath caught. "I can walk by myself."

"I just looked at it—the wound is pretty serious. Better let me carry you, in case you end up limping." Steven held her as if his arms never got tired.

Was he crazy? Her bones were fine—how could she possibly limp?

Steven carried her back to the car and drove back to Riverside Apartment.

When they got home, Steven was about to carry her into the master bedroom when Nora said coldly, "I want to go to the guest room."

Steven obediently went to the guest room and put her on the bed.

Nora pulled the blanket over herself. "I'm going to sleep now. You can leave."

She was afraid Steven would get all beastly again, so she could only pretend to sleep.

Steven touched her hair, his eyes returning to their usual gentle look. "Okay, sleep for a bit. I'll call you for dinner later."

Nora didn't want to answer him and closed her eyes.

Although she had no choice but to come home with him, she wouldn't give in.

She didn't know how much time had passed before Nora fell asleep.
