Chapter 101 He Is My Husband Steven
When Steven was mentioned, Nora had no choice but to stand up and introduce him, "This is my husband, Steven."
"Steven?" Willie found the name familiar. It seemed like the second son of the York family was also called this name... Thinking of this, Willie took another look at him.
He had really good presence.
But he remembered Terry saying that the second son of the York family had a red teardrop mole under his eye, and he didn't have one.
Besides, if he were the second son of the York family, he definitely wouldn't be living in this kind of small apartment, right? He should be living in some luxurious mansion!
"Nora's already married?" Willie was a bit surprised. How come no one mentioned it?
"Yes, I'm married." To prevent Willie from misunderstanding the relationship between Olivia and Steven, Nora took the initiative to say, "The apartment at Riverside Apartment belongs to Steven."
So that's how it is.
The mystery in Willie's mind was finally solved.
No wonder Nora was living at Riverside Apartment - it turned out to be her husband's place.
This apartment was nearly 1,615 square feet, with understated luxury in its decoration. This was a property worth several million dollars. Willie would have to work for several years to afford an apartment like this.
So when he looked at Steven, there was a bit more appreciation in his eyes.
So young, yet owning an apartment in the city center - that was really admirable.
"Nice to meet you." Willie stood up to greet him.
Steven changed his shoes and glanced at him coolly. Standing tall before him with a casual posture yet an innate sense of distance, he said, "Nice to meet you."
He was a germaphobe and didn't shake Willie's hand.
Willie felt a bit awkward, thinking this guy was pretty arrogant - probably a rich kid.
After speaking, Steven went back to his room without acknowledging anyone.
Nora glanced at him, but he didn't look back, still maintaining that "keep away" attitude from this morning.
Nora's heart ached a little.
"What's with his attitude?" Willie was somewhat dissatisfied with Steven's behavior.
Nora said flatly, "He's pretty cold to people."
"I can see that." Willie looked at Nora. This man came in without even acknowledging Nora - probably someone who looks down on everyone. Willie asked, "Why did you marry him? For his money?"
Nora frowned.
Olivia said unhappily, "Why is it that in your eyes, anyone who marries someone well-off is doing it for money? And what does this have to do with you anyway? It's already six o'clock, you should go. You're not welcome here."
Willie pressed his lips together. Olivia stood up and pulled him, "Hurry up and leave."
"You really want a divorce, don't you?" Willie was annoyed at being pushed, and his tone was harsh.
Olivia nodded, "Yes, I want to divorce you."
Willie thought for a moment, "Fine! Since you insist on divorce, come back and explain things clearly to my family. And we need to figure out what to do about the baby. Come back and talk it all through."
Olivia thought about it and agreed.
For a divorce, these things did need to be handled, and there was also the company issue - everything needed to be discussed with them.
Nora was a bit worried and wanted to go along, afraid that if the whole family ganged up on Olivia alone, she might get bullied.
Olivia said gently to Nora, "I'll go back by myself. If there's any problem, I'll call you."
"Okay." Nora nodded and walked Olivia to the door. "Olivia, your belly is big now. Be careful."
"I know," Olivia responded and walked out the door.
Willie tried to help her, but Olivia dodged him.
After the two left, Nora went to the kitchen to cook.
Olivia had already washed and prepped the vegetables. She just needed to throw them in the pot and cook them simply.
She made two meat dishes and one vegetable dish. Nora called out from the living room, "Dinner's ready."
Steven heard her but didn't come out. He sat at his computer working, his face cold and distant.
Nora couldn't be bothered to call again. She served herself a bowl of rice and ate while scrolling through her phone.
After a while, Steven came out.
He sat down across from her and glanced at her. Nora's attention was on her phone - she was watching a divorce video.
A lawyer was talking about property division.
Steven's face turned cold, his tone unfriendly, "Why are you watching this?"
Did she want to divorce him and take his money?
"Just watching," Nora said, taking a bite of food and continuing to listen carefully.
Steven's face darkened.
The food that usually tasted good had no appeal to him today.
Halfway through the meal, an incoming call notification popped up on Nora's phone, flashing "Philip."
Steven glanced at it, his brows furrowing tightly.
That go-go boy again!
"Hello." Nora put down her fork and answered the call.
"Nora, you dropped something in my car." Philip only discovered after getting home that there was an extra diamond-studded watch in his car.
He picked it up and looked at it - it was a lady's watch worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
"It's a watch. Is it yours?" Philip looked puzzled. Such an expensive watch - could it really be Nora's?
"Yes!" After Steven bought her the gold bracelet last night, she had taken off the watch and put it in her bag, replacing it with the gold bracelet.
She didn't expect it to fall in Philip's car.
Nora looked through her bag but couldn't find the watch her grandmother had given her.
She confirmed it was hers, "It's mine."
"Who gave it to you?" Such an expensive watch - could it be from Andrew?
Nora smiled and said, "My grandmother gave it to me."
"Your grandmother?"
"Yes." She responded without saying much more.
Seeing she didn't want to reveal more, Philip didn't press further, "Should I bring it back to you then?"
This watch was quite valuable. Using a delivery service wouldn't be very safe - it would be safer to deliver it personally.
"Sure, thank you." Nora was grateful. Since it was a watch from her grandmother, she naturally valued it highly. "When you get to Riverside Apartment, let me know, and I'll come down to meet you."
Nora was talking on the phone with Philip and didn't notice Steven's face getting darker and darker.
"Do you like him?" After Nora hung up, Steven asked her quietly.
Nora glanced at him, "Who?"
"The person on the phone."
"He's actually a pretty nice person," Nora said while taking a bite of rice.
The atmosphere around Steven turned cold. He put down his fork heavily, completely losing his appetite.
Nora was still watching the divorce video.
She wanted to help Olivia see how to fight for her rights if she got divorced.
Steven waited for a while, but she didn't continue to explain. His face grew colder, and he got up coldly and went back to his room.
Nora's attention was all on the video - she had no time to deal with him.
After finishing her meal, she noticed Steven had barely touched his food. She pressed her lips together, but still cleaned it up.
Steven kept ignoring her, and Nora didn't want to keep throwing herself at someone who didn't care.
She tidied up and sat on the sofa watching videos.
Philip called her, "Nora, I'm at Riverside Apartment."
"Okay, wait downstairs for a moment. I'll come right down." Nora also gathered up the household trash to take down with her.
