Chapter 166: Battle for Survival Part 2
Lilac’s P.O.V
The clash between us was sudden and fierce. Silver's strength was astounding, far beyond what I had ever imagined. Her strikes were precise, calculated, and each move seemed to flow effortlessly. I parried her blows as best as I could, but she was relentless, a force to be reckoned with.
"Silver, snap out of it!" I cried out, hoping to reach some part of her buried beneath whatever darkness had consumed her.
Meanwhile, Krimson and the others were engaged in a desperate battle against the wraiths, their eerie forms swirling around us, threatening to snatch away our very souls.
The air crackled with energy as spells were cast, and a fierce war raged against the ethereal beings, and determination fueled our fight for survival. Krimson fought with a ferocity I hadn't seen before, his determination matching the gravity of the situation.
As the chaos unfolded, I realized the gravity of the situation. Silver wasn't just a formidable opponent—she was something else entirely. Her power surged, and it became apparent that she wasn't just commanding; she was controlling the wraiths, orchestrating their attacks with an eerie precision.
With a sinking feeling, I understood the magnitude of our predicament. We weren't just facing Silver; we were facing a force that had manipulated her, twisted her abilities into something dark and formidable. My heart ached for the friend I once knew, buried somewhere within this turmoil.
Despite the fear and the overwhelming odds, I knew I had to stop her. The safety of everyone depended on it. Summoning every ounce of strength and resolve, I continued to fend off Silver's relentless assault, hoping against hope that somehow, I could break through to her, that she could regain control of her sanity.
As the battle raged on, the clash of powers and wills echoed through the air, as our fight for survival reached a critical point. The stakes were higher than ever, and amidst the chaos, I knew that this confrontation with Silver was only the beginning of a much larger battle—a battle for her soul, for our own survival, and for the very fate of everything we held dear.
The adrenaline was coursing through me as I fought alongside my pack, the battle cries mingling with the snarls of the wolves and the eerie hisses of the wraiths. We were toe-to-toe, fighting with every fiber of our being, but something felt wrong.
The wraiths were too powerful, their movements almost ethereal as they effortlessly overpowered two of our own. My heart clenched seeing two of my pack mates fall, their bodies hitting the ground with a sickening thud as several wraiths loomed over their bodies, sucking the very soul out of their bodies.
"Watch out!" I shouted, lunging forward to defend a younger wolf from a wraith's razor-sharp claws but the numbers were overwhelming, their strength unrelenting. It felt like we were fighting a losing battle, our determination the only thing keeping us standing.
Amidst the chaos, a flicker of movement caught my eye. Krimson fought tooth and nail to save as many of our kind as possible and just looking at him, I felt so proud. His dark fur blended seamlessly with the shadows as he moved with calculated grace, always one step ahead of the wraiths. I barely had time to register his presence before a blow aimed at my head was deftly intercepted by him.
"Thanks!" I gasped, barely avoiding a second strike. The relief of having him by my side was short-lived as another wraith lunged at us and before I could react, Del appeared out of nowhere, grappling the wraith from behind and pulling it away with a strength that belied his slender frame.
"Go, Lilac! Get out of here!" Del's urgent voice pierced through the chaos, his eyes fierce with determination.
With a nod of gratitude, I looked around, ready to fight another round of wraiths because I knew they never tired out and were fully ready to kill and destroy everything we held dear.
"Listen, Lilac, I need you to understand something crucial," Del said as he came to my side, his eyes holding a weight that mirrored the gravity of his words. "I might not wield the kind of magic that other witches do. I'm no better than a human in terms of raw power, but there's something I can do, for a brief moment."
I glanced up, my gaze locking with his, searching for reassurance or a glimmer of hope amidst his disclosure.
"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice laced with a touch of unease.
Del exhaled heavily, his breath a visible cloud in the dimly lit room.
"I have a way to neutralize a witch's power, but it's fleeting. It won't last long, Lilac, but it might be enough for you to do what needs to be done."
My heart quickened its pace as I tried to comprehend the weight of his words.
"What do you need me to do?" I inquired, a surge of determination rising within me despite the underlying sense of apprehension.
He met my gaze unwaveringly. "Command Silver," he said, his voice resolute. "You have to command her to destroy the wraiths before it's too late, before your friends are lost."
