Chapter 320: She Fucking Hate You

Abigail

“Put this on, it had a tracker in it.” Sonia said, I told her to do it and put it on my ear.

“How can something so tiny track me?” She shrugged.

“I don't know, I am still trying to figure this out myself. If you all die, I will shamefully take the blame.” She said in all seriousness.

“Darling, I am trying to think positively so if you could stop with the death talk, please.” Nicolas said to her before pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Okay, okay.” She waved him off and then turned to Capo.

“We are all set over here, Lucy drove there last night and put cameras around the area. They seemed to be working fine.”

“Alright,” he nodded and then looked at me.

“Let's go.” I reluctantly nodded my head, trying to come across as ready and not nervous at all.

“Okay,” I said and we left the room.

While driving to the destination, I realized we were getting further from the city and a lot deeper into the woods. By the time we had gotten within five minutes, there was no human life around us, just trees and dirt grounds. Capo stopped the van and killed the engine.

“We are going on foot from here and parting ways. Nicolas and I will be far but not too far that we won't be there if you need us. When we know it is safe, we are coming in and getting your guys, okay?”

I nodded, and we left the car. I just went straight while they left the road and went deep into the woods on each side. My heart thumped inside of my chest as I walked across the shadowed ground from the large trees above, almost covering the sunlight completely.

“Abigail?” Sonia’s voice said into my ear as he called the other two.

“Yes?” Nicolas confirmed.

“Here,” Capo answered.

“Abigail?” She called again.

“Yes, can you hear me?” I asked.

“Yes,”she confirmed.

“They are just a little further away, guys. I need you to stay strong, Rodrigo is with them and he is not in great shape.” She informed us.

“Okay, it is okay.” I told myself and took a deep breath of the fresh air surrounding me, just walking calmly hanging on by a thread. His legs were practically giving out underneath him, his wrist tied together with rope and his head hanging low.

“Rodrigo?” I whispered when I got within six feet, purposely keeping my eyes away from the person in front of me.

It was stated that if I looked at him, he would be able to get me with one word, one gesture or even with just his gaze. I didn't know what he was capable of now that he had all the leverage. He was in control, I was just finding my way around the fictional maze he had placed in my head. He slowly raised his head, a look of sorrow on his face when he found my eyes. My body urged me to run up and hold him and protect him the same way I knew he would protect me. But I couldn't, I knew better than to jeopardize this, our last chance to be together for once and for all. This is the end, it was now or never. We were not getting another chance.

“Abigail,” I froze at the cold voice reaching my ears and closed my eyes in disdain.

I turned my head, just slightly and only taking my eyes away from Rodrigo when I was fully facing him. His forceful gaze locked me in place almost automatically, making me feel ten times smaller than I already did. His body towered over mine even t he was anywhere near me, the promising look on his face making me take the slight step back.  I felt surprisingly calm but was on edge. I clenched my jaw, scrutinizing him as a small smile twitched at my lips.

“Jeff,” I said.

Hearing his name fall out of my mouth so effortlessly made his face fall in shock before complete rage filled his eyes.

“What did you just call me?” He gritted through his teeth, taking a step forward.

Although I was screaming on the inside, everything begging me to run, run and never look back because seeing him again hurt too much for my body to handle, I stayed right there as he slowly stalked towards me with a menacing look on his face. He looked insane, obsessed as he brought his hands up to my cheeks and cupped my face. I brought my hands into fists, stopping them from shaking and planted my heels in the ground so I wouldn't make the stupid decision to react.

“Let's try one more time, okay?” He had a gentle look in his eyes as he degraded me with his tone and words, talking to me like I was some child.

“Abigail,” he said.

“Jeff,” I repeated callously.

All kindness slipped away before his hand suddenly pulled back and hit my face, knocking me to the ground from the impact.

“Nicolas!” Sonia yelled from my ear.

“No,” I muttered in a low voice, groaning in pain from the rocks and woodchips digging through my clothes and piercing my skin.

“It is fine, stay where you are.”

He grabbed the back of my hood and yanked me back up, using his other hand to hold my face and squish my cheeks in the process.

“Get your dirty hands off her, I will fucking kill you!” Rodrigo yelled, the sound of him struggling in Jeff’s men's arms following. Jeff laughed.

“Do you hear that? All he had been talking about is how I don't deserve you, how you don't love me and you have healed. Tell him how wrong he is, tell him who you belong to.”

He turned me around to face Rodrigo, holding my throat to keep me against him. Rodrigo looked into my eyes and I looked back, not saying a word.

“Oh, feeling tough today, are we?” Jeff scoffed and pushed me down, making me talk to my knees. I watched as he approached Rodrigo, waving his men off and they let him go. He fell to his knees, not having enough strength and he fell to his stomach, coughing out blood as his chest hit the ground. I watched him helplessly.

Jeff pulled a gun out and my eyes went wide as he aimed it down to Rodrigo's head. His eyes found mine and a smirk pulled at his lips.

“Do you want to try again? Who do you belong to?”

I opened my mouth to respond when Rodrigo laughed.

“She sure as hell doesn't belong to you.” He said and Jeff kicked him in the stomach, making me shout in protest as he rolled over in pain.

“Stop, please, stop.” I begged.

“Nicolas, get in there!” Sonia yelled from my ear.

“Tell me who you belong to, Abigail?” He demanded.

“I am coming, a minute away!” Capo shouted.

“She fucking hates you, you idiot.” Rodrigo pushed and he kicked him again.
