Chapter 60 60

Chapter 60 60
Maddy’s POV
<>
After what felt like an eternity, Jason broke the silence. "I will return to the Diamond pack," he said with a resigned tone. If he stays here much longer, he will surely be killed by either Zac or the one whipping him.
"Tell me, Maddy, what is your plan?" With a long, depressed sigh, I answered, "I don't really have one for now.”
“This is a good time to escape, actually, but the problem is that those two guards out there would most definitely inform Zac that I helped you escape and you are not physically fit to run away.
I took a while to plan things in my head the way they would best work out. "Let's give it two days; try as much as you can not to get too bruised, and I'll make sure to put nutritional foods for you in the kitchen, but I'll have to do it discreetly." I concluded.
"Why exactly are you doing this much?" Jason suddenly asked, and his question shocked me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, and he breathed out first before replying to me.
"You’re trying to redeem yourself from your psychotic Alpha right?."
"Hey! Zac is not a psycho." I said, my gaze warning and voice threatening. He scoffed and leaned back with a smirk on his face. "So, I'll be leaving this cell by tomorrow."Too bad I already made it home."
He said it with a chuckle, and for some reason, the sound of his chuckle made my heart flutter so much.
"Okay then, you can live here with the one whipping you." As I reached the end of my sentence, I realised something, and I just had to ask. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked carefully while moving backwards.
"Tell me the truth." I said, pointing a finger at him. I trailed his body from top to bottom; he does have that BL body and protruding ass cheeks, so could it actually be true?
"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm not into girls like you, so snap out of it." He said it sternly. "Not into girls?" I asked this time slowly.
"What's on your mind?" He asked, and I swallowed hard before speaking up once more. "Tell me the truth, okay?" I said, and he nodded calmly.
"Are you a proud top or a reluctant bottom?" I asked quickly before I ended up regretting it.
"Proud- wait! what?! I'm not gay." He was quick to lie about it. But I won't pressurise him further about it. His sex life is his business and his alone, and it has nothing to do with me.
"Anyways, once you return to the Diamond pack, be rest assured that I'll find a way to send to you a messenger that would relate to you about any new updates." I reassured him, and he hummed in approval.
I walked closer to him, carefully reaching out. "Be safe, Jason," I whispered. His expression softened, a hint of a smile playing on his bruised lips.
"Okay," he replied calmly. "You're not so bad." He suddenly said, Was that a compliment or what?
"Um, thank you." I replied weirdly, and he only nodded with a smile. With that, I turned and left the dungeon. I returned to the two guards outside to speak with them.
"If I ever hear even a rumour that I came to see the prisoner tonight, then You're stories would end on the spot." I threatened, and they both nodded in understanding. And with that, I walked through the hall, and after a while, I got to my room, where Zac was still fast asleep.
I discreetly got to my side of the bed and kept his arm on my waist to reassure him when he awakened that I'd been here with him the whole time.
Draven's POV
Walking down the large hallway of my mansion, I could already hear the arguments going on inside the meeting hall. It had been weeks, and I have been ignoring meeting calls and hiding that fact from Hazel as I didn't want her feeling more guilty than she already does.
Every step I took forward echoed through the walls of the mansion. The clattering of my boots against the cold stone floor signalled my approach to the meeting room, and once I was close enough, the noises calmed down as they had already sensed my presence.
As the doors creaked open, I saw the familiar faces of the elders standing, offering me a respectful welcome. They motioned for me to take my seat at the head of the table; everyone's expression was completely different. In unison, we settled into our chairs, and the meeting began.
Elder Morris, being his talkative self, was the first to speak up. "I am deeply disappointed in you, Alpha Draven," he began, his tone laced with exaggerated grief.
"You failed to inform us that the war we now face against the Blood Moon Pack was actually sparked by your actions."
Little chatter bounced around before Morris continued, his voice heavy with reproach. "What you have done is inexcusable.." I sat in silence, absorbing every word.
Before I could find my voice, another elder, Elder Johnson, spoke up in support of Morris. "Morris is right, Alpha Draven," he stated firmly, his gaze unwavering.
"We cannot let our warriors fight for a lost cause. We must acknowledge our faults and take responsibility. The Diamond Pack is in the wrong, so we must rectify it."
I glanced towards Sam; for some reason, I needed to know what exactly his view was on this. But his impassive expression revealed nothing. Gathering my resolve, I cleared my throat, preparing to address their doubts head-on.
"Morris, Johnson, I acknowledge your concerns," I began, my voice steady, though a hint of frustration lingered within. "But doubting me as the alpha could spiral into dire consequences for you." I warned.
Morris recoiled slightly, likely shocked by my counterattack. Ignoring his discomfort, I continued, my tone unwavering. "This war is not a lost cause. It was sparked by the alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, Zac.
"Our warriors are fighting not just for me but for the integrity of the pack," I stressed, my gaze sweeping across the room. "If we let this go, then Alpha Zac and his pack would see us as cowards who couldn't stand up for their Alpha." I explained calmly but with a voice filled with authority.
"The Diamond Pack deserves respect, and our integrity should not be tarnished." I explained, and I saw a new light in their eyes. They understood where I was going with this and all agreed with me with a loud cheering sound.
The rest of the meeting was about us planning war strategies. Jason had suddenly stopped relaying more information for over a week now, and I was beginning to get anxious about it due to my fear for his safety.
Jason is very crucial for the pack, and losing him would be so bad for the pack, but mostly for me. He has always been with me from the time we were kids; he was the funny one and always knew what to do or say at just the right time, and I'm sure he's smart enough to know what he needs to do to survive there until he's ready to come back.
Suddenly, a maid burst into the room, startling us all. "What imprudence!" I roared, and she immediately knelt, crying. "Alpha Draven, Miss Hazel suddenly lost consciousness after crying out in pain again.
I called the physician, but he’s still not picking up." And with that, I burst out of the meeting room and headed for my bedroom. I ran down the hallway as fear and trepidation gripped my heart.
These past few weeks, Hazel's body has been losing way too much energy, like something was sucking it all up from her. She had gone slim and always felt dizzy.
Due to this, I made sure there were maids with her, and the physician remained on standby just in case. We've tried many medications, but in the end, the only thing we could get was vitamins and energy boosters. But now it seems that it isn't enough.
