Chapter 52 52
Third Person POV
"Wh...What was that?" Hazel asked as she took in deep breaths, trying her best to stabilise herself. She felt utterly weak, as though something had left her body, leaving her naked and exposed.
"I don't know." Draven grunted as she lay on top of hers; they were both tired and exhausted, neither having the strength to move about to say much, but in all her weakness, Hazel found the strength in her to giggle.
"You're a beast of a man," she said to him. Draven smiled at her as he struggled to get up from her. He rolled himself over and laid by her side. He was completely exhausted and shaken.
The weird energy that had come into his body from Hazel had done something weird to him. It made him whole, full of life, unbroken but there was only one way to find out, he wound have to walk out under the full moon.
If this has indeed worked then he would owe his service to Sara, if only this worked. But he felt it in his bones, he knew he was the same man he had been for the past ten years, the constant pain that plagued him was gone.
He stretched out freely as he laid on the bed, he looked to his side and saw an already sleepy Hazel, she had been weakned by whatever has happened between the both of them and now he felt alive again.
He clenched his fists with satisfaction knowing that he had finally gotten what had wanted all these years. Now he could be a good Alpha, or the uncle he couldn't be, he wasn't sure if he could still be that person or if it was possible but he would give it his best.
He smiled at himself as he allowed the exhaustion to slowly carry him away, drifting soundlessly into the endless void of sleep. Soon came morning and with it Hazel woke up in a daze, she felt better, re-energized.
The scene from last night played out in her head before her, she couldn't help but smile at herself sheepishly, she sat up in the bed just realizing that she wasn't in her room but in Draven's.
She got up from the bed and walked around looking for Draven, but she couldn't find him. She checked the study and bathrooms, but to no avail. She decided it would be best for her to go back to her room.
She left Draven's room and walked out towards the hallway. It was still quite early; some of the maids had just started coming from wherever they slept; she hadn't an idea about how the things in this house really worked.
Ahead of her, she heard footsteps, thinking it was Draven. She ran towards him but instead ran into Thalia; her smile immediately melted away, forming into a scowl.
"You," Hazel said pointedly. "Yes me?" Thalia asked in retribution.
"What do you want? Why don't you go back to your parents house and leave my life the fuck alone?" Hazel warned at her, but Thalia scoffed with a wave of her hand.
"Oohh, please, what makes you think I'm here for you in the first place?" Thalia asked her, looking a bit frustrated.
"Oohh, you didn't come here when I was in prison , but all of a sudden, after you all found out I got married to Alpha Draven, all of a sudden, it's you coming to move over here," Hazel blurted out with all the anger in her.
"I'm not stupid, you know." Thalia laughed lightly.
“You actually are if you can't figure out why I'm here in this house; trust me, dear sister, it has absolutely nothing to do with you," Thalia said in confidence.
Confused, Hazel asked her, "So what are your plans then?"
"See, stupid," Thalia laughed heartily. Hazel flushed at that, getting red with embarrassment; she had never been good at word play, espresso against Thalia.
She always seemed to win anyone over if it came to word of mouth; she gritted her teeth in frustration; she couldn't believe all that she had just said right now.
"Don't worry, we'll have a lot of fun while I'm here, just us two sisters," she smiled at Hazel. Soon they both heard footsteps coming towards them; by instinct, Hazel knew it wasn't Draven, so she pointedly ignored it.
She didn't want to deal with both Adrian and Thalia, so she scoffed at Thalia. Thalia placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "What's the matter, dear sister?" Thalia said more loudly that she normally would have, and Hazel knew why.
She slapped her hand away as she walked past her, giving her a little budge so she could go away from her front. She could see Adrian just ahead of her, she hated him now.
And she wasn't sure but she wanted to do everything possible to avoid talking to him or him running after her, he couldn't with Thalia hear, but she now understood how much of a liar he was.
As she looked back at his face, something was wrong, he looked shocked and startled, shocked actually but Hazel couldn't figure out why, Adrian's parted slightly as he shouted the words,
"Help her" with his hand stretched out. Hazel looked back at her from where she had just walked past and saw that Thalia wasn't here she had been; she was rolling down the stairs.
Hazel rushed to the stairs but looked at her shocked; she was confused. How did Thalia roll down the stairs? Adrian jumped from where he was down the stairs in one leap; she cracked Thalia in his arms as blood flowed from her forehead.
Adrian checked if she was okay, making sure she could see and breathe properly, then he glared at Hazel from where he was. "What is wrong with you, Hazel?" Adrian roared.
"W...what? Me? What did I do?" Hazel asked shocked, and Adrian looked at her even more annoyed.
"And now you're going to lie and make excuses for what you did? Really Hazel? You can't take responsibility and accept that you hurt her." Adrian shot back at her.
Hazel looked back at Thalia again in his hands and saw a smile on her lips as Thalia smiled back at her. Hazel clenched her hands in frustration, she knew it was another if Thalia's tricks.
She should have gotten used to it by now after falling for it so many times but it seemed that didn't matter, Thalia was always very creative with how she put Hazel into trouble.
"This was one of those times, right?" Hazel said lightly. "What are you talking about?" Adrian asked
"You should be apologising for pushing a pregnant woman down the stairs; you can't say it wasn't you; I heard her when she asked you if everything was okay and you pushed her down the stairs as a reply." He looked at her, judging.
"What?" Hazel asked in shock. "What? You didn't hear what I just said?" He said back at her.
"Who's pregnant?" Hazel asked again. Her grip on the wooden rail tightened so much, but if splintered, wood began to fall from the rails.
"Thalia is pregnant with my child," Adrian said proudly. "And you just pushed my woman down the stairs because of your petty reason," Adrian said to her.
Hazel was shamed down to her core. The first reason was that Adrian had come begging her to take her back, to forgive him after he had already had sex with Thalia.
He had lied to her, telling her she was all he wanted, but he had gotten another woman pregnant. Now she couldn't even get mad at Thalia; if Adrian had really gotten her pregnant, then she had enough reasonto be in this house.
Enough right to live here as one of the family, but she couldn't imagine having a future with Thalia in this house; she knew exactly the type of person Thalia was; all the memories of what she had done to Hazel could come back to her in a rush.
She looked back at Adrian with anger in her eyes; she wanted to scream out her frustrations, to shout it, to say you fucked Thalia, and still what about her? What kind of irresponsible liar was he?
She so badly wanted to let it out of her chest, but Draven just walked in front of the front door. She saw Draven gaze over the situation, but he looked like he wanted to glaze over it, like he couldn't be bothered by small matters such as this.
She knew Draven to be that kind of person . She had a stupid idea in her head; she knew what she was about to say wasn't very smart, but she would be damned if Thalia could pull off a card like this and leave her in the dust.
If Thalia was going to blame the victim card, then so was she. "I'm also pregnant Adrian; deal with it," Hazel said as she turned around in frustration, anger, and embarrassment.
