Chapter Twenty-Six

Christmas Day

Nicholas’s POV

“Merry Christmas, baby doll” I kissed the back of May’s shoulder as I pulled her body closer to me. We were both sleeping on my bed after a romantic and passionate night yesterday.

After my father’s burial, I returned to the castle with May while the Queen mother stayed back in the palace with Richard and my sister-in-law.

Working out our differences was tough, we had a lot to talk about, a lot to think of, and a lot to compromise. Arguments come up when she talks about moving back to where she was staying to get a job. She doesn’t like the idea of going back and forth from the castle to the palace with me.

Each and every day, we kept on discussing and addressing things, sometimes, we argue about them but not today, today is Christmas, a day filled with love, joy, happiness, and a lot of memories. All we have to do today is stay happy.

“Merry Christmas” She replied with her eyes half-opened. I kissed her thoroughly, slipping my hands into the blanket that was covering her nudity to grab her boobs and pinch her nipples slightly.

“What are you doing, you naughty boy?” She giggled

“Trying to wake you up”

“Fine!”

She removed the blanket from her body and grabbed my face before slamming her lips on mine, resuming what I’d stopped.

I didn’t waste any more time before I began kissing her, touching her, making her feel good, and letting her know she was mine. I made sure to leave bite marks where people would see it, so it’ll tell those guys that she’s taken and that she belongs to me only.

“Do you think I should call Adam and see how he’s doing?”

I stopped in my tracks, turned to look at her, surprisingly. We were currently taking a walk in the cool, cold evening after having dinner at one of the finest restaurants in town.

I’d insisted on taking her to Paris or any other nice vacation place that she’ll love but May stubbornly insisted on staying here at the castle. She feels the town is enough for the vacation.

“You’re messing with me, right? I told you not to talk about other guys while I’m here with you” I replied jealousy.

“Or should I go see Declan? Or maybe call Greg, that Nigerian cute Doctor or maybe Sebastian Drew, he lives in California and he’s a big businessman or maybe Derek Miller or Lucas….”

I grabbed her and began tickling her by her side. She was laughing hard and that joy in her eyes couldn’t make me stop.

“Stop”

“No”

“Please”

“No”

“Okay fine! I wouldn’t talk about those guys anymore” she screamed, gaining the attention of passersby.

“Good” I stopped tickling her.

“You’re such a big and jealous bully, Prince Nicholas,” She said before kissing my cheeks.

“Where did you meet all those guys?” I asked.

“What guys?”

“The names you mentioned”

“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” She nudged my side.

“I’m not jealous, I’m just curious”

“Stop denying it, you’re jealous. Admit it that you’re jealous and I’ll tell you who they are” She bargained.

After thinking for a few seconds, I finally succumbed. “Fine, I’m jealous”

She laughed a lot before giving me the answer, it was only when she gave me the answer that the laughter made sense, “Apart from Declan, they’re all characters from books I’ve written. Greg is from imperfection, Sebastian is from CEO’s secret, Derek Miller is from CEO’s Curse”

I stopped walking again, thinking of how stupid I was to have to be jealous of the book’s characters.

May touched my face, “You poor baby of mine. Don’t look so embarrassed sweetie” she was smiling again.

“Come here, silly” I pulled her lips with my teeth before licking them thoroughly.

“That hurts for a second. What was that for?”

“For saying those damn characters”

She stuck her tongue out at me and started walking away. I smiled at her silliness before running after her. I took her hand into mine and placed both hands into the pocket of my jacket. She turned to look at me with a smile dancing on her lips. I knew I was forgiven for biting her.

“I love you baby doll”

“I love you too Prince Charming”

We kept on walking that way not saying anything, just stealing glances at each other and smiling widely anytime our eyes met.

We stopped when the open cinema came into view. A Christmas love story was being played. I Stood behind May, moved closer to her body, and dropped the edge of my large coat around her shoulders before drawing her body into mine as I wrapped my hand around her.

“I’ve been thinking about trying out something”

“What is that?”

“Staying here with you. I’ll take writing as a full-time occupation, I’ve got some big offers from some publishing companies because of the last book I published. They think it has potential and they want it. That might be a breakthrough for me. But I’ll stay with you and see how it goes”

I kissed her hair, grateful she made that decision and trusting myself not to push her to do what she doesn’t want to do.

“Are you sure that’s what you want? Don’t let my opinions design yours?”

“I’m sure, baby”

“Then one step at a time baby doll”

“Yes, one step at a time”

“TILL INFINITY, I WILL ALWAYS STAY BY YOUR SIDE, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DECISION IS. I'VE LOST YOU ONCE AND I KNEW HOW VOID MY LIFE WAS. I wouldn’t afford to do that again. I’m never leaving baby doll, not now, not ever”

“I trust you baby” she replied, moving closer into my body.

The end
