Chapter 11 From Now On, Let's Call It Even
Ava thought, ‘The blow to Love Group this time is so severe that it won’t be easy for them to recover. So Tyrone is now just fighting like a trapped beast.’
With this thought in mind, the image of Ethan appeared in Ava's mind.
She took out her phone and sent a message. [Thank you, Mr. Davis.]
Soon, she received a reply. [Miss Smith, how do you plan to thank me?]
The recent madness flashed through her mind, and she couldn't help but smile at the few words. Ava felt that it was time for all of this to end.
With a light tap of her fingers, she inputted a line of merciless words. [From now on, let's call it even.]
After sending the message, Ava suddenly felt weak all over, as if all her energy had been depleted at that moment.
During the days of the Smith family's bankruptcy, she had been carefully planning, just to defeat Tyrone with a single blow. And now, it was finally over.
At this moment, in the dark retro villa, Ethan sat on a black leather sofa, smoke curling between his fingers.
The phone on the armrest was still lit, showing the message Ava had just sent.
He thought, ‘How ruthless those words are.’
A dull sensation passed through his chest.
The corners of his sharp lips couldn't help but curve up, but there was still a hint of lingering regret in his eyes.
He thought, ‘This woman ends things quite decisively. Does she want to escape from me after finishing using me? What a joke. I have to be the one who decides when this game starts or finishes.]
Ava moved back to the Smith Villa, and all the former servants were brought back. She officially took over the company's affairs.
During the day, she was at the company, and at night, she went to the hospital to take care of her father. She was busy but fulfilling.
Her phone buzzed, and she glanced down to see a text message. [Are you free tomorrow? Let's go skydiving together.]
Ava thought, ‘Skydiving… It has been a long time since I have skydived.]
Ava loved all kinds of extreme sports. Challenging life and facing death seemed to be her favorite pleasures.
But ever since the Smith family fell into trouble, she had lost all her mood.
She had been itching to play for so long. The company was on the right track and didn't need her to worry too much. It was time to relax.
She replied: [Sure, send me the location.]
Soon, the location was sent to her.
She had met Jerymy Corbyn in a skydiving group chat, and they had known each other for a long time but never met in person. They had made plans to go together many times, but unfortunately, she had always been too busy.
Early the next morning, Ava rode her motorcycle to the agreed meeting point.
A man popped his head out of a black modified sports car. "Ava?"
His hair was styled with gel, and he wore a small earring on his ear. Dressed in all-black motorcycle gear, his eyes carried a smile when he looked at people, charming and captivating.
He was obviously from a wealthy family.
"Jeremy Corbyn?" Ava asked uncertainly.
"That's right." He got out of the car, standing at about six feet eleven tall, not much shorter than Ethan, but the two had completely different temperaments.
Ava thought, ‘Ethan… Why am I thinking of him again?
"Let's go." The two walked side by side towards the club.
The people who came here to play were seeking excitement, and although it was their first meeting, they felt no sense of unfamiliarity due to their shared interests.
Jeremy had already rented a plane, and the two changed into their skydiving suits and prepared their parachutes before taking off directly.
The weather was perfect today, with a clear blue sky and only a few clouds drifting by occasionally.
As the plane entered the drop zone, the cabin door opened, and the sound of wind roared past their ears.
Ava gestured to him and then leaped forward from a two thousand feet altitude.
