I rushed downstairs, wanting to drive, but found my hands trembling uncontrollably.

There was no other way, so I had to run outside.

Although our neighborhood is very nice, most people have their own cars, so it's not easy to get a taxi.

I anxiously stomped my feet at the entrance, using several apps on my phone to call for a car, but there was no response.

Just as I was getting anxious, a neighbor drove out from inside.

Seeing me standing at the entrance, she looked a bit surprised.

"Kathie, what are you doing here? Are you waiting for someone?"

I turned to look at the neighbor and saw the shock in her eyes.

"Waverly, can you take me somewhere?"

Without a word, Waverly opened the car door and pulled me into the passenger seat.

"Tell me, I'll take you there!"

I gave her the address of The Smith Villa, and Waverly sped off.

After we set off, I finally felt something cold flowing down my cheeks.

I reached out to touch it and realized that at some point, I had started crying.

Waverly looked at me through the rearview mirror.

"Kathie, what happened? What made you so anxious that you're crying?"

I wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes.

"It's, it's a relative's child who went missing."

Waverly sighed in relief, but she still seemed a bit puzzled. Seeing my state, she didn't say anything more.

After dropping me off at The Smith Villa, Waverly had other things to do and left first.

As I approached, I saw a lot of police officers gathered at the entrance of The Smith Villa.

When I walked in, I saw Olivia talking to a police officer, explaining the situation.

"Sir, you must help me find the child!"

Olivia's eyes were red, and tears were streaming down uncontrollably.

Jessica was also standing nearby, pacing anxiously.

I looked around but didn't see Joseph, and surprisingly, I felt a sense of relief.

"Alright, ma'am, we understand the situation. Please keep a close watch on your phone. If you receive any messages from the kidnapper, contact us immediately!"

After the police left, everyone returned to the villa.

It was then that I saw Howard.

Howard saw me too and hurried over to grab my hand.

"Kathie."

His hand was trembling a bit. I knew he was also very anxious.

I pursed my lips and pulled Howard aside, making sure no one could hear our conversation before I looked at him.

"Honey, do you know that Olivia has an ex-boyfriend?"

Howard's face stiffened.

"How do you know that?"

I hesitated a bit. If I said it out loud, it might not sound good.

But the child's disappearance was likely related to that man.

"At the child's celebration party, I saw a man pulling Olivia and saying something about the child being his, not Joseph's."

Howard's expression changed several times, and he probably guessed something.

"Kathie, stay here and don't move. I'm going to find Jessica."

With that, he quickly walked over and pulled Jessica upstairs.

Olivia was crying hysterically, almost fainting, and was helped back to her room by the maids.

I thought Howard was probably taking Jessica to verify the situation with Olivia.

I stood in the hall, feeling a bit awkward for a moment.

Just as I turned my head, Alicia noticed me in the corner and sneered.

"When something happens, you don't even know to come earlier. Hiding in the corner, are you afraid of getting involved? Don't worry, you don't have any kids!"
