Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Ella didn't know what Joshua was doing here so late at night.

Thinking that Zachary was still downstairs, she decided to go down and check.

At that moment, in the living room downstairs.

The atmosphere between the two men was tense, as if you could smell the strong scent of gunpowder in the air.

Joshua was annoyed and asked, "What's Mr. Baker doing staying here so late at night?"

Zachary had come all the way from abroad and was staying at the Lewis family home without leaving.

If he wasn't after Ella, what else could it be?

Joshua suddenly felt an even stronger sense of crisis.

Zachary smiled, "Then what's Mr. Thomas doing here?"

Joshua's expression changed slightly. He knew talking about this was useless and wouldn't solve any real problems.

Anyway, they both knew exactly what the other meant.

Thinking of Dorian, Joshua asked directly, "Mr. Baker, you're not Dorian's biological father, are you?"

He had already asked Samuel to do a paternity test.

The results would be out in two days at most.

But while waiting for the results, somehow Joshua felt extremely nervous.

It was because of this matter that he couldn't sit still at home alone, so he came to find Ella for company.

Zachary sneered, "Mr. Thomas is very concerned about this? Isn't it up to Ella to say who Dorian's father is?"

He indeed wasn't Dorian's father.

He had asked Ella before, but she didn't give a straight answer.

The kids didn't know who their father was either.

But it couldn't possibly be Joshua, so he could rest assured taking Ella and the kids away.

"You're right, who the child wants to call dad is indeed up to Ella."

Not wanting to argue with Zachary about this, he saw Ella coming down from upstairs. Joshua got up and went to meet her, "Ella, is Dorian okay? Did you find anything when you took him to another hospital?"

Until now, he was still praying that Dorian wasn't his child.

If it was his child, he couldn't forgive himself for what he had done before.

Let alone Ella.

If it wasn't, then everything he did would be justified.

"Nothing serious."

Ella walked down the stairs without giving Joshua a glance, heading straight for Zachary, "Zachary, you've been on flights all day, you must be tired. Why don't you go rest in the guest room?"

Zachary knew Ella was trying to send him away so she could talk to Joshua.

He didn't mind, no need to care.

After all, Ella had already decided to take Dorian and leave with him.

Once back in Eldoria, Ella would eventually agree to be with him for Dorian's sake.

He stood up, "Alright, you rest early too."

Ella nodded and had the butler take Zachary upstairs.

After he left, she sat on the sofa, her expression instantly changing as she asked coldly, "You came to see me just to ask about Dorian?"

Realizing Ella was talking to him, Joshua went over and sat down next to her, "Not entirely, I missed you and wanted to keep you company."

Ella felt disgusted.

Now when she heard Joshua say such intimate things, she really didn't want to pretend anymore.

She kept a straight face and changed the subject, "Did you get a lawyer to sue Scarlett?"

Joshua was silent for a moment, "Scarlett kidnapping and hurting people is a fact, I don't need to get a lawyer to handle it, right?"

The police would handle it themselves and judge accordingly.

Ella looked at him, "Scarlett killed your grandfather, aren't you going to have a lawyer sue her for a life for a life?"

If this man hadn't stopped her, she would have already killed Scarlett.

Somehow, she always felt that if Scarlett didn't die, she might somehow get out of the police station.

Joshua sighed and reached out to hold Ella's hand, explaining, "Ella, we don't have evidence to prove that grandfather's death was caused by Scarlett, so suing her..."

Ella shook off his hand, pulled out her phone and put the video of Scarlett's confession in front of him, "You always believe she wouldn't kill anyone, always think she's kind-hearted."

"Even though she kidnapped Dorian and my mom, personally hurt my mom, you still think she's innocent, right?"

This Joshua really disgusted her.

Ella couldn't wait to get away from him right now.

Every time she looked at him, she felt sick.

Joshua watched the video on the phone.

His whole face darkened.

He didn't expect Scarlett to actually admit to killing Aiden.

Scarlett not only sent people to kidnap Aurora, causing Aurora's serious injuries and death, but also killed Aiden.

Joshua was dazed, looking at Ella, "I'm sorry."

He really didn't know Scarlett could be that evil.

But regarding Aiden's death, he had investigated it back then and really didn't know how Scarlett had done it.

"The person you should apologize to isn't me, it's your grandfather."

Ella picked up her phone and coldly told him to leave, "You should go. Remember, I don't want Scarlett alive in this world. Within three months, I want to hear that she's been sentenced to death."

She got up and told the maid nearby to show him out.

Joshua was still stunned. Regarding Aiden's death, he had to go to the police station himself to see Scarlett and ask her exactly how she did it.

Watching Ella's back as she coldly went upstairs, he didn't insist on staying and quickly got up to leave.

The next day, Rhea was still in the hospital, and Heath and Mason hadn't returned.

Ella asked Zachary to help her stay with Dorian while she brought food to Rhea at the hospital.

But just as she left the Lewis Villa gate, a car blocked her way.

Ella got out and went over, ready to ask the driver to let her pass first. When the window rolled down, she saw it was Joshua's mother, Ava.

Not knowing what Ava was doing here, Ella didn't have a pleasant expression and requested, "Mrs. Thomas, could you move your car to the side and let my car through?"

Ava ignored her and gestured, "Get in the car, I have something to talk to you about."

"What do we have to talk about?"

Remembering how Ava had always accused her, saying that grandfather Aiden's death was her fault.

And forced her to sign a divorce agreement leaving with nothing.

Plus she was Joshua's mother, so facing her now, Ella didn't have a good attitude.

"About Joshua. Get in the car. After we talk, I'll leave and won't take up too much of your time."

Ava sat in the car, elegant and dignified, with an extraordinary presence.

Not yet sixty, she had the powerful aura of a matriarch, and a few words made Ella give in.

Ella got in the car and heard her say, "You're already divorced from Joshua, and now you're the Lewis family's daughter. By rights, even though you've had children with someone else, with your status and looks, getting married again shouldn't be hard."

Ava stared at her, her eyes full of disdain, "Why do you keep clinging to Joshua?"

Joshua was almost thirty-five.

If he didn't seriously find a woman to marry, who would inherit the Thomas family in the future?

To make Ella leave Joshua, she had to step in personally.

If Ella didn't listen, then she wouldn't be polite.

Ella laughed softly, meeting Ava's gaze, "I'm clinging to Joshua? Have you asked him? Is it me clinging to him, or him clinging to me?"

Ella admitted that at first she wanted to use Joshua and had taken the initiative.

But now she didn't need Joshua anymore.

He'd better stay as far away as possible.

"Isn't it you clinging to him?"

Ava's expression changed, very angry, "Not only are you clinging to him, but you're also using his pity for you to force him to sign so many unfair cooperation projects with the Lewis Group."

"Ella, you're really greedy."

If Jasper hadn't mentioned this to her, she wouldn't have known Joshua could be that stupid.

Projects worth billions of dollars with no profit for the Thomas Group at all, and Joshua just signed them.

How could there be such a foolish man in the world?

Ella was silent.

She had indeed used Joshua to sign several projects for the Lewis family.

But wasn't that what Joshua was willing to do?

They were just using each other.

"Tell me, are you going to leave him or not?"

Seeing Ella remain silent, Ava raised her voice, "A woman like you who has children with random people, shameless, how could you be worthy of Joshua?"

Ella ground her back teeth, sneered coldly, and said without hesitation, "Go back and tell Joshua to never appear in front of me again."

"I don't like him at all. The reason I've maintained that relationship with him during this time is just to use him to deal with Scarlett."

"Not only do I not like him, I hate him. Regarding my daughter's death, I will never forgive him for the rest of my life."

As soon as she finished speaking, Ella got out and slammed the car door.

As she was about to leave, Ava asked, "What does your daughter's death have to do with Joshua?"

Ella stopped, turned back to look at her, "Because back then, Joshua refused to save my daughter. Ava, remember what you said to me today."

"You and Joshua better never appear in front of me again for the rest of your lives. I will never forgive you, and I will never step foot in the Thomas family home again."

Ella didn't want to see Ava's high-and-mighty face anymore.

She was also afraid that if she continued talking, she'd let her know that Dorian was Joshua's child.

Ella hurried to her own car.

Ava had the driver move the car aside to make way for Ella.

She still didn't understand what Ella meant.

Why should Joshua save her daughter? How ridiculous, not taking good care of your own child and blaming Joshua.

Thinking that she had recorded everything Ella said earlier.

Ava edited it slightly and sent it directly to Joshua's phone.

At this moment, Joshua was heading to the police station.

He wanted to find Scarlett and ask her some things clearly.

Seeing that Ava had sent him a recording, he casually clicked on it.

Then he heard Ella's voice saying she was using him, hated him, would never forgive him for the rest of her life.

And telling him to never appear in front of her again.

Joshua suddenly panicked, immediately pulled the car over to the side, and called Ella.

But she had already blocked him.

He quickly called Ava instead.

After Ava answered, she immediately scolded, "You heard what Ella said, right? She doesn't love you at all. Being with you was just using you. Don't get involved with her anymore."

Joshua was very annoyed, "Mom, how many times do I have to tell you not to interfere with my business with Ella? Why won't you listen?"

Ava got angry too and shouted out of control, "Why can't I interfere? Ella killed your grandfather and had children with someone else while deceiving everyone."

"I will never allow such a dirty woman to bring a bastard into our family."
