CHAPTER 45

Darkness covered the sky. Alpha Dante took Lena to the mountain where they would watch the moon together while their child was under the care of Odessa and Alfred.

They had come along not just to watch the moon but to get two things done. Alpha was set to burn to ashes everything that had to do with his deceased Luna and forget about her entirely, while Lena was to perform a little funeral to please the spirit of his deceased Luna and daughter.

Together, they set the belongings on fire and watched as it burnt under the moon.

Lena leaned on his shoulder, her face contorted. If she was told that she would ever take the place of his deceased Luna, she wouldn't believe it. Here she was, watching as everything that had to do with his Luna was turning to ashes to be forgotten till eternity all because of her.

When the fire went down, she got to her knees, beginning the funeral, and he joined her.

Tears gathered in her eyes as she recalled the day her father was killed and how she plotted the plane crash that took his daughter's life. She couldn't hold back a single tear-they all rolled down her cheek willingly while everything was ongoing.

"Alpha!!" she called for his attention after she was done and wiped her cheek. "Why did you fall for me? I didn't expect to be your favorite…. I never dreamt of it. All I wanted was to live, even if it meant being your slave…."

He glanced at her and wiped her cheeks. "That question is one I can't answer, only if you can tell me why and how you stole my heart."

She grinned and licked her lips. "I didn't know when I did it."

He shrugged his shoulders. "Exactly! I didn't know when I fell for you…"

He stood and helped her up, and they matched forward a bit to stand closer to the cliff. "I hated you. I despised you. I wanted to tear you apart….. but then, I craved for you…I wanted you around all the time, and you carried my child. I didn't know why, how, and when it happened-but I knew that I wanted you in my life….. not as my slave any longer, but as my Luna." his brows knitted.

Lena stared at him, lips dropped open.

"Elena! I will make you pay for stealing my heart. I hope you will forgive me when you shed tears of joy…." his voice was almost a whisper.

She chuckled and nodded firmly. "Yes, my Alpha…."

Slowly, he pulled her face closer to his. His lips crashed on her gently.

She threw her arms around his neck, succumbing to the taste of his lips, and they gulped down each other's saliva. She held her breath for a moment, licking every part of her lips.

Her life as a Princess-she didn't believe she would ever love a man, talk more of being under a man, or being loved back. But, after she was CAPTURED AND ENSLAVED BY THE MAFIA ALPHA, she understood that everyone has that one love that awaits them.

He looked into her eyes as he broke up the kiss and then lifted her into his palms, grasping her butt from underneath.

"Lena!!" he muttered, and she kissed his forehead. "I possess you and everything in you! You are mine!! Mine alone!!! Mine forever!!!"

As much as she was the happiest woman around the whole pack, she couldn't hold back her tears and couldn't tell if it was joy or guilt. She's just certain of one thing-that a burden has been lifted from her shoulder after the funeral.

Even in the afterlife, she believes his deceased Luna and daughter won't resent her any longer, but be happy for them.

Three days later.

Odessa was busy applying some makeup on her face when Lena barged into the room and handed an envelope to her. "What's this?" She took the letter from Lena and unsealed it instantly.

"Lucas said I should give it to you. I wonder if you two have ever met." Lena explained. Meanwhile, Odessa was already reading the letter. "The hall is filled up. Aren't you going to show up? You're still making up…"

Odessa looked at Lena again. "Do you know what's written here?"

"Why should I care? Eowyn and Susan are set already. Who will carry my baby while I walk into the hall…." Lena snapped at her.

It was the day she had awaited-the day she would be crowned Luna, her child the Alpha Prince, and then her brother, Alpha King's right-hand man.

She had, precisely, pleaded with Alfred to focus and be attentive in all Alpha Dante would teach him about the ruling, so that in the next year or less, he would be crowned the Alpha King of the Celestial Pack.

Odessa stood up and dropped the letter on the bed. "He wants me to be his bride. He said, he's been interested in me but didn't want to confess because Alpha Nathan was my mate…now, he was able to do it since Nathan isn't anymore…."

Lena pulled her into his arms. "Oh, my baby girl…." she pulled out again. "You know, I planned to release you, Eowyn, and Susan after my coronation. As if Lucas knew my mind-isn't that interesting?"

"He's a Mafia!!"

"And so?" Lena gestured, scowling at Odessa. "Isn't Alpha Don a Mafia too?"

Odessa licked her lips. "It's fine! After the ceremony, I will see him so we can have some discussions."

"Okay, let's start going already…" Lena stepped a foot forward, and Odessa held her back. "What again?"

Odessa came before her. "I didn't want to tell you these, although I planned to plead with you and Alpha to release Susan from the palace…." she paused and lowered her head. "Susan is eight months pregnant…."

For some minutes, Lena noticed her feet glued to the floor. She must be hearing things again. No way is what she heard in reality.

"Let's be going…" She dragged Odessa, but she held her back again.

"Didn't you hear me well? I said that Susan is eight months pregnant…." Odessa repeated.

This time, she exhaled a deep breath and gently walked to the sofa where she got seated. "Susan is pregnant-eight months at that. How? When? By who?"

Odessa came to her and held her hands. "I asked her, and she made it known to me that all those months that Alpha Nathan was exiled, she was visiting him secretly, and they always went intimate each time."

"What a load of crap! Which female can be that stupid?" Lena thundered and hissed aloud.

"Susan is that female. She said she tried her best to hate Nathan because of the situation she put her into but couldn't, and knowing that he would die soon, she decided to spend time with him secretly. They became intimate and she became pregnant…. she isn't feeling bad about it, but rather happy that the first and only man she loved ejaculated a seed in her and she would do whatever it takes to train the child so Nathan will have a descendant."

Lena glanced at Odessa. "So why are you the one telling me this? Isn't she the one supposed to do that?"

"She's scared and is even planning to sneak out on her ninth month."

"And the fact that her belly is just a little…." Lena clenched her fist. "She is so stupid. Now, how will she take care of the child? Seems like she intentionally took it all in the name, recalling Nathan through the child ...."

Odessa nodded. "I guess so, but please, don't be mad at her. Release her so she can leave the palace. I beg of you!"

After a long time, Lena agreed to it. She had no other choice than to accept if that's the only good thing she would do for Susan to save her life when Bianca almost succeeded.

"No wonder she knew about Nathan and Bianca's plan at that time even as a slave. I can tell that it's the reason she helped me because she knew that a day like this would come and I would have to repay her kindness ...." Lena mumbled and stood up. "It's fine! For the sake of my childhood relationship with Nathan before he misbehaved and the kindness of Susan, even though we were supposed to be rivals…I will help her take care of the child even after she leaves the palace. Nathan would be happy that he has a descendant-he will be smiling in the afterlife by now."

Odessa stood up. "All I know is that Nathan never held grudges on you. He loved you till his death."

"Yes, I knew that. He brought his death upon himself. It was karma that dealt with him." Lena added in unison.

They left the room together to the hall where everyone was waiting.
