Chapter 49 Cohabitation

Chapter 49 Cohabitation

"What? You actually agreed to crash at Kieran's place?"

"Elara, are you sure you're not being held hostage or something?"

"I object. Kieran's unpredictable, always scheming. This is bound to blow up in your face eventually..."

"Exactly! I joke about fighting, but Kieran actually chopped off someone's hand. That's way too extreme!"

Private Restaurant.

Sylvia and Ethan stared in disbelief.

Of course, their hands didn't stop moving, making the high-end restaurant's plates and cutlery clink, which seemed a bit less classy.

It looked like not only Ethan was having a tough time, but Sylvia's company had just started and was struggling too.

Elara patiently explained.

Keeping the studio here was fine since the rent hadn't expired yet.

The million dollars Kieran invested last time was still sitting untouched in the studio's account, so there was no shortage of operating funds for now.

But living there was out of the question.

David's two intrusions couldn't be ignored, and Percival's attitude was still unclear.

Moving out was the best option.

"Moreover, from Elara's perspective, this whole mess is Kieran's fault for not handling his relationship with Percival properly. It's not like he's giving away the house; it's a rental. As a man, being too explicit about it would seem pretentious. It's better to be straightforward and let actions speak for themselves."

This analysis was spot on, especially coming from Ethan, who never thought this way.

How did he suddenly become so savvy about relationships?

"Ethan, did you swap brains before leaving the house today?"

Sylvia asked incredulously.

"No, no, no. It's just that I suddenly... maybe... developed an interest in relationships between men and women. I read a book about it. I think Mr. Blackwood's actions are reasonable. Elara should just live there."

Ethan chuckled, rubbing his hands together.

"By the way, if you're not staying at the studio, I was thinking... the rent for my place is too expensive, and I can't afford it with my current income. I was thinking of moving into the studio. Don't worry, Elara, I'll keep it clean."

Elara raised an eyebrow. Well, so this was the real deal. In less than half a month, Ethan had not only made progress in handling clients but also in dealing with the boss.

"Is this some kind of awakening? Oh no, Ethan has inherited the Craigmor clan's cunning and their ancestors' scheming. Is Vossshire going to produce another rogue?"

Sylvia sighed, patting her forehead. "Elara, don't agree to it. There's nothing wrong with the place outside. He is definitely up to something. I don't believe Ethan, who spends money lavishly, has suddenly become frugal."

Elara chuckled. "What's wrong with him being frugal and paying you back faster?"

"Exactly!" Ethan chimed in.

"No problem. You handle the move-out procedures in the next few days. I didn't take the kitchen appliances, fridge, microwave, or washing machine. You can use them. I'll take my clothes from the bedroom later tonight."

Elara raised her drink and clinked glasses with Ethan. "From now on, the responsibility of guarding Story Revival Atelier falls on your shoulders."

Ethan downed his drink and patted his chest. "No problem, I got this."

Sylvia watched and exclaimed, "Elara, don't listen to his nonsense. He's not saving money to pay me back. He's probably spending it on some girl."

Sylvia was joking.

Whenever Sylvia teased him, Ethan would always retort, showing he wasn't easy to mess with.

But today was different.

Strictly speaking, Ethan's reaction had been odd since Kieran mentioned Ethan might marry Elara.

Seeing Sylvia's comment, Elara wondered if Ethan really had a crush on someone.

"Ethan, spill the beans. Yesterday, Kieran didn't ask, but do you really have a crush on someone? There's no one else here."

Elara asked excitedly.

"It's nothing serious. I just got her contact info and haven't talked much yet."

Ethan scratched his head, his cheeks turning red, his voice soft and shy.

It was hard to imagine Ethan looking so embarrassed. It was almost nauseating...

"What's there to hide? It's the Augustine family's girl, Sophia. Her brother, Theodore, is the client Ethan brought in. This was originally my connection, but I introduced them to Ethan under my name. The deal was made, and now Ethan is eyeing their money and their girl."

Sylvia said casually, as if joking, but her eyes flashed with complexity.

Ethan sighed, disappointed. "I thought it was my own ability..."

"It's okay. You did perform well with the client. Your business skills are top-notch."

Worried she had discouraged Ethan, Sylvia quickly added, "Many people can't bridge connections, but you did well in securing the client. Think about it, the Craigmor clan often makes connections, but not every deal goes through, right?"

Elara watched, sensing something was off with Sylvia today.

Usually, Sylvia would tease Ethan about his weakest points, enjoying his frustration.

In fact, Sylvia had been in low spirits all day, even though she didn't show it.

Elara noticed and took Sylvia to a wellness spa after Ethan left.

"Sylvia, relax tonight. Are you on your period? You seemed distracted today. Drink this; it's great for replenishing blood and energy."

At the wellness spa, Elara and Sylvia lay comfortably on the beds.

"Elara, I now believe you have no feelings for Kieran."

"Hmph, my sweet bribes worked. You'd better not side with Percival. I'm innocent."
