His PoV

His PoV
Mila and Pyrrhus stared at each other in silence, allowing their eyes to communicate what words could not.

Thousand words that can't be conversed was exchange within this short time if eye contact.

She noticed that there was still sorrow in his eyes, pains and agony like that of a lonely soul shone clearly in his face.

The scorn that once dominated them had faded. His eyes were softer now, though a trace of sadness remained.

Mila can't help the shudder that escaped her chest. The priceless expression on his face was very nice that she raised her hand and touched his face.

On the other hand, he observed the twinkle in her eyes, he can't help but be mesmerised at the lady before him. No doubts, Mila is definitely a very pretty young woman that looked very innocent.

Seeing her face to face like this, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips gracefully breaking the pain and agony that shown in his eyes.

He wasn’t sure why he had told her that he no longer hated her, but he knew it was the truth. The hatred he once harbored had dissipated, the loath and anger he had for her because she was his enemy's daughter has all dissolve though he had yet to fully understand what emotions had taken its place.

"It's chilly out here Pyrrhus, let's go inside," Mila finally said, breaking the hypnotic gaze that had almost consumed them both.

She released herself from his grip and wrapped her hands around herself to show that she was indeed feeling cold.

"Go to sleep, we'll talk tomorrow" Pyrrhus replied, his voice steady and slow as if he was sad to see her leave.

Mila hummed and turned to leave but stopped as if she had remembered something, "And what about you? Won't you go inside? It's pretty cold," she asked with a concerned tone that melted Pyrrhus's heart immediately.

Pyrrhus walked majestically like a warrior before replying, "I don't feel the cold. I've been through harsher nights, this is nothing compared to what I have passed through before, don't worry about me, go to sleep" he shrugged.

"Hmm, good night," she murmured, a bit reluctantly and moved another step away.

A part of her wanted to stay with him, to linger by his side, but her body protested against the chill in the air as the cold breeze blew against her body releasing endless goosebumps that she hated.

Mila has always always despised the cold days, even as a child, she would fall sick and have nosebleeds anytime she was exposed to cold weather and tonight was no exception.

She looked back again, "Good night, Pyrrhus Cole," she said again, watching as he waded deeper into the water.

He didn't reply and she turned around to continue leaving. Her legs felt heavy as she walked away, each step a struggle against the urge to turn back and cuddle in his great arms.

Unable to resist, she stole one last glance at him, admiring his strong, scarred body. Mila can't help the gracious smile that adored her face despot the goosebumps.

She noticed that his scars were beginning to fade, the result of the Lilly petals she added to his bathing water every day. The petals were working their magic, slowly healing his skin without him knowing.

She knows that Pyrrhus is a fiesty and aloof creature that would never allow such things. But doing it without his knowledge Don't seem bad too.

But being a princess wasn’t the only thing she knew how to do. She was determined to prove that to him that despite being a priness, she was thought the basic etiquettes of taking care of a husband and handling a proper family.

She wanted to be closer to him, to understand the man behind the assassin mask. Mila wanted to make his cold heart feel warm and let him know what is love again.

She wanted to learn why he hated her father and to unravel the complexity that surrounded him. She wanted to everything just for this man that called himself and assassin that kills like Azzrail the angel of death.

Mila wanted to be the wife of the assassin, a desire that was becoming stronger with each passing moment.

The Next Morning,As the sun began to rise, Pyrrhus groaned softly, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep that was threatning his face. The persistent tugging on his back made him grumble under his breath as he felt something sitting in his bag.

Something very heavy and very human. He squinted his eyes and caught Little Phoenix's panicking gaze. He hissed, he knew that Little Phoenix make this kind of face whenever he need something.

"Phoenix, get off my back! You're very heavy" he muttered, his voice laced with fatigue.

"Come out! Come out now father, it's urgent" the child cried out, his voice insistent and full of energy that annoys Pyrrhus to the core.

Pyrrhus sighed deeply in frustration as he tries to muster a little strength to respond his persistence son, "Little Phoenix, I’m really tired and I want to sleep more. Please, leave me alone. I'll come and attend to you later"

But the boy’s next words made his heart skip a beat. "Father, mother won’t wake up! Come and check on her quickly"

Pyrrhus Cole jolted upright with frenzy, his fatigue forgotten immediately. "She won't what? What’s wrong with her?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

The young boy sniffed and left the room with his concern evident on his face.

Without wasting another moment, Pyrrhus rushed to Mila’s room.

When he saw her, his heart sank in despair. She was pale, her skin as white as a freshly laid egg and her lips had lost its vibrant pink color.

"Mila? Mila, wake up," he murmured, gently shaking her so she would jerk up but she laid there like a mummy.

Suddenly, she sneezed loudly, breaking the tension and she stared awake.

"Opps! Sorry, I didn’t notice you there, when did you get here?" she asked, her voice hoarse and weak.

Pyrrhus raised an eyebrow, at her question. his concern deepening.

"You’re not feeling well, are you?" he asked, already knowing the answer but he decided to ask for asking sake.

Mila shook her head slightly, this moment showed her fever. "It’s just a cold, nothing serious. I told you I hate the cold weather, didn’t I? I guess this is the reaction from the cold last night "

Pyrrhus sighed in relief, but his worry didn’t completely dissipate as he finds it hard to put his mind to rest that it was just a cold. "Okay, I'm sorry for making you stay under that cold. I’ll go to the healer to get you something, don't worry, just wait for me" he said, turning to leave.

But before he could take another step, Mila grabbed his hand that was grazing her side, "Pyrrhus, wait! Can I come with you please?" she asked, her voice soft but filled with a hint of vulnerability and panic.

Hearing her pronounce his name made his senses tingle. It was a rare occurrence, for her to call his name gently without shouting or arguing and it caught him off guard.

"Fine, but grab a nose veil and put on something less... less revealing," he replied, quickly shaking off the inappropriate toughts that tried to invade his mind as he saw her bare chest opened due to the loose night wear she was wearing.

Some Minutes Later, they arrived at the village physician abode and stated her aliments. The healer also did a check on her to be sure of what really happened to her. Then he handed Pyrrhus a small bottle of liquid, its contents vaguely mysterious.

"One dose of eucalyptus oil in her tea every morning and night should do the trick, and don't let her get exposed to too much air" the healer instructed, accepting a few coins in exchange.

Pyrrhus nodded and turned to Mila, who seemed to be lost in thought. "You heard what he said, you have to be taking this every morning so that you can...." His voice trailed off when he noticed her absentmindedness. He walked up to her and tapped her and she jerked back immediately.

"Mila, what are you thinking?" he frowned, at her distraction.

"Mila!" he snapped again, and she blinked, snapping back to reality.

"Oh Sorry, I was just admiring that beautiful horse by the shed, it reminds me of my fiance who had a black horse" she murmured, pointing at the white stallion standing nearby.

"Oh, Anila? He’s mine, did you like it?" Pyrrhus said with a smirk, walking over to the horse and patting its head lovingly while the horse neighed happily.

Mila was amused. "Wow! You own a horse? I thought you towey away on caravans and invade pirate ships, I even though that you might stole horse from your victims. No offense," she exclaimed, her surprise evident.

Pyrrhus chuckled softly at her exuberance. "He’s my horse, but I usually keep him in a stable or tied to a post since I don't really need it like you said. Horses and camels are respected around here because they don’t cause trouble. And Anila always shows up when I need him " he said.

Mila can't help but exclaim, "Oh wow, that's a brave line, can you take me for a ride?"

Pyrrhus Cole smiled again and poked her cheeks like a father to a daughter and replied, "Only after taking these medications"

AT ABRAMAR KINGDOM; PRINCESS JUDY'S MANOR
Judy plopped down on the mat next to her mother, who was deep in meditation, a slight frown on her face.

She had been close to prince Gabe like she wanted but to get his heart seems like an harculean task for her.

"Mother, you know, i'm starting to notice a mutual connection between Prince Gabe and his private maid," she grunted, her voice tinged with frustration.

Her mother slowly opened her eyes, raising an eyebrow at Judy's words. "A maid? Since when has your insecurity gotten the best of you, Judy? It's normal for him to be close to her of course since she's the one taking cAfe of his needs" she replied calmly but in an annoying tone.

Judy’s frown deepened as she tried to explain. "I see the way he looks at her, it's very priceless and lovingly Mother. He’s slowly losing interest in Mila, and he’s not looking at me, even though I keep hinting that I know where Mila is so I can get him glued to my side. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up. He’s clearly losing interest in me."

Her mother smiled, a confident gleam spread in her eyes as she said to her daughter, "Prince Gabe is a prince of prestige, my dear Judy. He can’t stoop so low as to fall in love with a mere scullery maid. He might be forgetting Mila like you said but he can't replace her with an ordinary maid. But if that’s what you’re worried about, don’t be. I’ll make sure that maid is put in her place."

Judy nodded, feeling a bit reassured, but her worries were far from over. "Thank you, Mother, but seriously, how do I keep curbing Prince Gabe’s requests?" she asked, concern still lingering in her voice.

Her mother’s smile grew even more assured. "Keep curbing his requests until he is completely under your control, my dear daughter. Once he’s in your grasp, neither Mila nor the maid will be able to release him."
