lullaby for Little Phoenix

lullaby for Little Phoenix
Mila recounted her hidden memory. The memory she had always tried to remember but all to no avail and she had been used to see the scene of how a small boy and his family were murdered.

"Please save me" the little boy in her dream pleaded with tears.

The little Mila was carried by a palace maid from the scene leaving the boy to suffer alone.

She remembered as she whispered... "I am sorry"

As she sat there, holding her head because as she was trying to remember, her head was aching and hurting her badly thesame way, she heard a knock on the door and opened it to see the wounded Pyrrhus Cole.

"Pyrrhus? How did you get wounded?" She asked alarmingly as she put his hand across her neck so that she could help him into the house.

Pyrrhus was not saying anything, but he was breathing heavily. Mila rushed into his room and brought out the first aid kit he had used on her when she was injured.

There were several leaves and concotions there all Which Mila know how they work and what they are for.

"How did you get yourself injured this much?" She asked as she pressed the Kiwi fruit bark that had been grounded to his injured leg and he whinced in pain.

After the treatment, he was now able to limp at least and slowly, he was able to limp back into his room, leaving Mila speechless.

"What is going on with him?" She muttered in disbelief.

Meanwhile, at Abramar Kingdom, the news of the death if the king of Maldives had reached them.

"King of Madldives is assasinated? Who killed him?" He asked the minister that came to relay the message.

The minister bowed as he continued, "We heard that the same Pyrrhus Cole that Kidnapped our Princess Mila was the one that also killed him"

The king was shocked, his wife, the queen was also shivering. What else would Pyrrhus Cole do? What extent will he go to? Why is he doing all these? Is he coming for King Ebenezer next? These were the questions that raised in the heart of the king and queen as they locked eyes with each other.

Still on this matter, a guard rushed in, "Your Majesty, the Duke of Pierrot was killed by Pyrrhus Cole just now" he reported.

The tension in the room increased, Pyrrhus Cole that s going really too far. The king held his staff firmly with anger and faced the standing Minister and the guard...

"Arrange guards and our best warriors, hunt down this so called Pyrrhus Cole and apprehend him" he commanded.

"Yes, Your Majesty"

As they guards left, they firstly surrounded the house of the fallen Duke, but Pyrrhus Cole escaped. He was clad in his usual black ataire and mask.

They pursued him until they can't run no more. They have probably forgotten that they are going after Pyrrhus Cole! The shadow assaasin that kills like the angel of death.

Just as they were about to give up, one of the archers caught a glance of him and fired an arrow towards him, all which he escaped but he was wounded badly.

Mila turnes around uneasily on the bed and stared at the ceiling with her hair sprawled across the bed like a waving fan, not being able to sleep.

She took a handful of her heair and toyed with it. She looked at her hair that was by now returning to it's natural color.

Mila had developed a strange enimity with the hair she ah on her head because Egyptian Princesses are known for their long black hair but hers was way too different.

Back then, When she couldn't take it anymore, she had the maids straighten out the vibrant curls of crimson red hair, and dye it black.

Without months visit to the saloon or have the royal maids take care of it, the once black and straight hair is now Changing to the normal cherry color and now wavy too.

Still thinking of her hair change, "Mother are you still awake?" She heard Little Phoenix's little murmur as he crept up to her.

Mila was Surprised that the small boy is still awake by that time of the night. "Little Phoenix? You should be in bed by now" She asked in disbelief

The boy snuggled into her embrace and murmured again, "I can't sleep, Bad dreams are disturbing me"

Mila smiled and patted his back gently. "Will you now sleep peacefully now that you're with me?"

With a gentle smile, she bid Little Phoenix goodnight, dimming the lights in the room and leaving only the soft glow of the bedside lamp. But to her surprise, Phoenix showed no signs of sleepiness, his restless energy palpable in the dimly lit room.

Sensing the need for comfort, Mila sighed softly, her fatigue momentarily forgotten as she pondered how to soothe the young girl's troubled mind. "I don't know any bedtime stories, but I can sing you a lullaby," she offered tentatively, hoping to ease Phoenix's restlessness with the power of music.

Phoenix's eyes widened with anticipation, her excitement palpable as she urged Mila to begin. With a reassuring pat on her back, Mila took a deep breath and began to sing softly, her voice filling the room with a sense of warmth and tranquility.

As the notes floated through the air, a sense of peace settled over the room, wrapping Mila in a cocoon of comfort and security. And as Mila sang, she couldn't help but feel a sense of connection with the young boy, their shared moment of solace a fleeting reminder of the bonds that transcend time and circumstance.

"Once upon a winter night.....

"I was with my silent strides there I found you....
.
"Once upon an Autumn cold night.......

"In my muddled thought I stumbled upon you

"There we joined..... We formed friends... We formed lovers....

Mila suddenly paused when she was about to sing the next lyric which seems to inappropriate for a kid.

Yikes! Aren't there lyrics too inappropriate for a young biy like Phoenix? She wondered then she coughed lightly and Continued....

"Little Phoenix, Mother forgot the lyrics, Mother wiill sing another song for you" She said but received small snores from her beside.

Little Phoenix is asleep.
