Eternally Bound Ch7: Mythic Beasts

Eric held my hand as we ported away from the others. I haven't gotten to spend much time alone with him. He's always so reserved too. I don't know if he's hesitant because of the situation or me. But I will make the most of the time that we have tonight. Maybe I can pull him out of his shell and we both can strengthen our bond too.

We arrive at a gothic mansion. It towers above the city below and has an odd feel to it. Almost as if it isn't of this world, but that can't be possible, can it?

“Eric?”

Eric says, “This is where I grew up.” He takes my hand and shows me around, “There's good and bad here too.”

We go into the sitting room. It is fairly dark, but not oppressively so. He sits in the big leather chair and pulls me on his lap. He points to different items and pictures as he talks, “This place has been in my family for centuries. Since before the Middle Ages too. I'm the last left in my family. Well, I was until now.” He touches my face as he runs his hand down my body and lets it rest on my stomach, “Eva, you are giving me a life I never thought possible. But you deserve to know my past, my darkness, and why I became the vampire that I am. I had a choice unlike Vincent and Vlad thanks to magic. But first a bit about this house. My family had many struggles, many of which we hid from society. This house holds a lot of secrets too. But it all fell apart when gossip started because a nosy journalist found a trophy room. It revealed that my family were witches and vampires.” He takes in a breath as he holds me closer, “Also dwindling fortunes, madness, and tragedy, beset

by all manner of things that go bump in the night haunted them. Furniture appeared to move of its own volition and very much against the wishes of my

family. An apparent malicious presence taunted a dog into biting a little girl's face during a fantastically awkward social occasion too. Spooky writing manifested beneath the paintwork. Servants started to worry that there was something "bad" hanging around the house. All of this fueled the gossip mill and my family was hunted and their immortal lives ended because of that journalist. I had been away in America and returned, but not soon enough.”

He gets up and walks us to a painting of a man who has Eric’s soulful eyes, “My brother Malcolm was born a vampire and embraced it fully while I wanted to enjoy a taste of humanity that a witch granted me as long as I could. When I got here, this place was on fire. Malcolm had a stake in his chest pressing against his heart. His last act of life was to lift that spell by giving me his blood which made me into the vampire that I am now.”

I cup his face, “You killed everyone responsible, didn't you?”

“Yes,” he answers full of regret.

He looks broken. Now I know why he can't let me close. Someone like me is responsible for ending his family and forcing him to become a vampire before he was ready to. “Come,” I say as I take his hand and we walk up a winding staircase up to the roof.

Below us, the modern city bustles with activity, but we stand atop a time capsule. Here it is as if we are frozen in time. We stop and look at the full moon above. “Eric, you aren't that man anymore, just as I'm nothing like that journalist that persecuted your family.”

He briefly looks into my eyes, “I know.”

“But do you?” I cup his face, “Feel me!”

His hand covers mine as he looks into my eyes, “I do.”

I see a cloud lift in his eyes. Our lips meet in a fiery kiss. He snaps his fingers behind my head. I can't help but giggle into our kiss. He bites my lip, “I am just saving us time.”

I laugh as I push his naked body to the ground. I straddle him. As I slowly sink onto his hard cock I look into his eyes and speak, “Let's make some new memories.”

Eric smiles, “I couldn't agree more.” I began to rock as I kissed him. I swivel my hips as I take him in deeper. We both moaned each other's names as he began to thrust from below. Our eyes never left each other which added to the intensity and increased the passion.

We both came and I collapsed onto his firm chest. He stroked my hair and kissed my forehead, “Eva!”

He rolled me off of him and pulled me beside him. He pointed to the moon and that's when I saw it.

“Is that a dragon?” I gasp. Flying across the silvery full moon is what I assume is a dragon.

Eric chuckles, “It sure isn't an airplane or an owl.”

“But they're a myth!”

Eric grins and says, “Not anymore,” as he kissed me and then we stood up. He snapped our clothes back on, but I felt something land on my hand.

“Eric, look!” On the back of my hand rests a small pink dragon with white wings and horns. It is the most adorable thing that I have ever seen.

“Wow!” he exclaimed as he slowly moved the back of his hand in front of the little pink dragon. It raised its tiny head and sniffed him before it nuzzled against him.

“She's a sweet little thing it seems.”

Eric chuckles, “For now,” as he cups my face, “I venture to guess that she can be just as fierce as her new momma too. I love you, Eva.”

“I love you too.”

He smiles, “Thank you for this. All of it!”

“Nothing you could ever tell me can change the man that I know you are.”

We kiss and my little dragon sits on my shoulder. She makes this fluttering purring noise as she nuzzles against Eric and I's faces. He takes one last look at his childhood home before he looks deeply into my eyes “Well, let's go home and introduce our new pet to everyone.”

“Morgan better not pounce on her!”

We laugh as we port back picturing a cat trying to catch my baby dragon. I hope everyone gets along too.
