We port back home. I have my baby dragon safely hidden in my hair. She's so soft and warm too. Who would have guessed that baby dragons aren't covered in scales? She has this feather-soft coat covering her pink skin. The only scales are her wings and tail and obviously her tiny horns.
We are no sooner back in the living room until we are surrounded. Vincent looks at us questioningly, “What did you do?”
Sam looks us up and down, “We know something happened too.”
Eric huffs, “We had a date.”
Vlad seethes, “We know.”
Katie sighs, “Guys, let them breathe they just got back.”
Cassius adds, “But they’ve been gone for hours.”
Eric shakes his head in disbelief, “It wasn't that long.”
Cassius looks him in the eyes, “Six hours, man.”
“No.”
Cassius says, “Sis, yes you were both gone for six hours. Where did you go?”
Eric answers, “My home.”
Vincent snaps, “Your house is on the other side of town.”
Sam adds, “We would have heard you too.”
Eric looks at me and smiles, “My home like I said.”
Vlad gasps, “You took her to Babylon!”
“Eric?”
He kisses my cheek, “Where we were was once part of ancient Mesopotamia and was believed to be where the ancient city of Babylon once stood.”
“As in Hanging Gardens and Tower of Babble?” He nods. “So on the roof when I felt time stop…”
“It did for the modern world near us,” he says as he puts his arm around my waist.
“The dragon moon!”
Vincent glares as he approaches us, “You went back in time and saw a dragon. What the fuck were you thinking!” He is irritated and very close to me. He goes to make me look at him, “What the fuck!”
My little dragon peeked out from my hair and blew a tiny purple flame at him. He jumped back and she flew out from her hiding spot. Morgan and Agnes kept leaping in the air trying to catch her. She roared and puffed her flame.
“Morgan, no!”
Amira giggles as she stares at the scene unfolding before us, “She's going to get her whiskers burned off! Then she will truly be a naked pussy.”
We laughed but it quickly died down when we saw Morgan jump from the curtain rod. I rushed over. She had my dragon in her paws. “Morgan, give!”
Morgan blinks, “I'm fine now.”
“If you hurt her I will put you outside!”
Morgan swished her tail, “I'm me now.”
Agnes says, “The cat impulses are crazy sometimes. They're so strong that we can't fight it.”
Morgan adds, “Like your Haze.”
“Fine.”
Morgan bows her head and my dragon climbs onto her back. She hops up onto the coffee table. She moves her head from side to side before she says, “This isn't a normal dragon. Just what happened?”
So we told them all that happened on our date. Morgan looks at Eric, “Well Eric, you are the last Alpha Vampire. But more than that, your brother could have used the last of his energy to remove the stake. He would have still been poisoned from it but would have recovered eventually. Instead, he gifted you not just immortality but his soul. With that all the power your family held too,” She looks at my belly, “Now your child too holds it and more.”
Katie squeals, “Dragons!”
Morgan nods, “Yes, but not just any ordinary type.” She nuzzled my dragon.
“Cupcake likes you.”
Morgan purrs, “Cupcake isn't a beast like the one you saw flying. She's a shifter that is both physical and magical. Now notice that her fire didn't burn Vincent at all and nothing is even smoldering?” I looked around and she continued, “Why magic came so easily to you, Eric. It wasn't just the witch in your family. You are a descendant.”
Agnes nods, “Sam, you aren't the only one with family secrets it seems.”
Morgan and Amira go over to Vlad. Amira stares into his eyes as she asks, “What are you hiding?”
